Good job keeping it in good shape! We had a 2014 Audi that was sold last year with its original battery. Last summer we try to turn it on and it wouldn’t start plus all the lights came on! We flipped! Simple fix: new battery! Change it asap so you wont be stranded somewhere.

I do love not having a car note - but the sudden repair costs are always a lot. It's been a good car to drive though - smooth drive, reliable, etc...just have to keep up with the maintenance.

if you have had the battery that long, consider yourself blessed. If the car starts acting up in weird ways, check your battery. drive the piss out it! The moment you stop driving the owned BMW it will break. Cars that have been driven break after they sit for a while. nothing else will drive like German car. I have owned Japanese cars all my life and after driving a German car I want to get one but I am hesitant of the maintenance cost. I would get a low mile clean car the cert pre owned with as long of a warranty that they allow.

The maintenance costs are SO high...if I had someone who could fix my car on the side I'm sure it would be cheaper : / I drive a lot though so hopefully I can get to 200,000 miles on this car. If I do I will be happy with that - just hope I don't have to put another $5k in it for repairs!

I think the reason the valve cover needed to be replaced was because oil was leaking…otherwise, no leaks!
