I went to AF BMT August 2017 and with the Air Force Song and Creed make sure you at least sort of know it. They'll never test you on it but they do make you say and sing both before PT and before classes.
I think it's pretty straight forward. if you want, you can break it down between Staff/Tech and Master/Senior and Chief just sounds like it would be the top rank lol so that would have the most stripes. Staff is first and then your a Tech when you're "technically" advanced as far as the "beginning" sergeants go. and Master is first because you have "mastered" the beginning sergeant ranks and then Senior is above Master because it sounds like it would-and then Chief. lol that works for me, hope it helps!
If you need to move or "adjust" at attention say "permission to adjust" That also holds true when helping your wingman ask before you help them '"Permission to touch/adjust"
It is definitely an experience and something I’m glad I went through, would love to hear about your experience. Follow me on Instagram and DM me 👉🏻 bit.ly/2PKPWcW
@@DavidCapperino I got in 😂 recently got medboarded cuz I got hurt really bad 😂 ended up in the hospital in and out for 3 months cuz I wasn’t getting better so they medboarded me with 50% in retirement
Idk what their official ruling is and everything is up to the MTI for your flight. BUT I wore mine. I didn’t get to the first like 1-2 weeks until I found a groove in the nightly schedule where I can wear them throughout the day and at night
Good question! Idk if it was standard, but for the first couple days until we got issued our uniforms, we took our luggage and put it on top of our lockers. And even thing we did or needed we just grabbed out of there.
When is a good time to apply or talk to a recruiter? I graduate from high school May 2019 and I wish to go to BMT almost as soon as I leave high school
If you’re not 18 then I would start with talking to your parents first. Assuming you are 18, then you could even start doing it now. I’m not sure what the criteria would be to enlist before you’re 18, but it is possible. It also wouldn’t hurt getting to better idea of what jobs you will and won’t qualify for. I’m not sure if you can go to MEPS that early or not 18, but again, good questions to ask your recruiter. Let me know if this helped!
Start now, takes 1-6 months to complete ASVAB, go to MEPS etc. took me 6 months, air force is competitive, most high school students I know that are leaving right away enlisted while in high school, mid year, must be 18, that way you can decide with or without parents blessing, don’t know your case & relationship with them. Also, can’t exceed a year for the DEP, or else automatically dismissed. Plan at least 3-6 months ahead of graduating HS. They are usually at schools anyways, also, have a good GPA.
Definitely know what AFSC u want. Don’t fall in the trap of having to choice something just bc you’ll go to BMT sooner. Pick ur job u want then be in the DEP program till

at 6mins in, you mentioned the security locker and said dont leave that out of your undershirt, and that you will be recycled. what exactly does that mean
You can get “recycled” back a week of training. So you can go back a week or two weeks - it is up to the MTI! I hope this helps, if you have any questions it is best to follow and DM me on Instagram 👉🏻 bit.ly/2PKPWcW
Hey Keiry! Sorry for the late response, but depending on how big they are, there will no doubt be some complications. Real small ones shouldn’t pose a problem, they may just tell you to come back when they’re smaller. But I know one guy who had plugs and is in now, I can ask him more. Let me know if this helped!
getting one or two pulled won't matter. It only matters if you get any actual paperwork for it, if you get so many pulled it goes "into" a profile while you're there. Hope this helps! and if you have any further questions, follow me and DM me at instagram 👉🏻bit.ly/2PKPWcW

I used to pass out due to a syndrome so if I ever join the air force I’ll keep in mind not to lock my knees when I’m standing, just in case. Thanks for the the tip. Lol.
How could you not know that officers were not on the E-1 to E-9 Scale? Have you never heard of the Air Force Academy/ROTC? What are pilots, E-6/9? No way.
No lol. I never had any military influence. So why would I know? That’s like me telling you about my job and me like, what you didn’t know how this works?
hah.. The funniest thing we had to do in AF basic training is keep a log of ALL SERIAL NUMBERS for the dollar bills you have on you, at any one time. Seriously, if you only want to remember "ONE THING" as you go into AF basic training REMEMBER THIS....... >>> "PAY ATTENTION TO DETAIL"
I don’t know if I would word it like that per se, but chances are you just take an educated guess and if you’re wrong, oh well. Also, chances are you’ll get tongue tied and call a sir a ma’am or vice versa.
David Capperino The problem is if we are wrong, it usually means termination because the other person gets offended and it's cheaper to let the employee go. That's the new America we live in :(
David Capperino I agree the military would be 100x easier, if someone offended me I have the Gay Card, the Wrong Gender assumption Card, and if all else fails, I am truly offended and upset card. It's sort of a catch 22, you can literally get away with everything these days as long as your feelings get hurt, even if they don't you can fake it :)

That must of changed when I went through, because now it is just in the morning. Still good to know!
David Capperino oh wow maybe it differs in each squadron, I was in the 331st
Thank you very much!!

Well done! In fact, the best one I've ever seen on UA-cam re: BMT. (I'm an AF 05; three of my sons are AF: E3, E5, E6)
Thank you for your service! And congrats to your sons!
Amazing stuff, one of the best videos out there David!

I leave August 21st for bmt, thanks brother
When I went through in 03 we had the BMTM2 and didn't have to memorize the Airmans creed.
Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever heard of the BMTM2

How many years service do I have to do seriously
As many as you like

The bag/luggage/gym-bag that you take with you to Air Force BMT, after the zero night can you keep it with you or does it go to common storage?
Good question! Idk if it was standard, but for the first couple days until we got issued our uniforms, we took our luggage and put it on top of our lockers. And even thing we did or needed we just grabbed out of there.
After I was issued uniforms everyone’s luggage when into a storage closet inside the dorm
This might be a strange question, but when talking to an MTI, are you supposed to make eye contact? If not where are you looking?
Not a strange question at all! DO NOT! lol don't look them in the eye, I looked above their hat and don't laugh...lol
Thank you! That would've been my instinct but something was telling me you probably shouldn't lol
haha and you would be right my friend!
Keep clear of the snake pit at all costs!!
Yes. I’m sure that all of this drivel will ensure combat efficiency.
Good!

At MEPS, do they check your ears to see if they are completely closed? (Gauges, piercings, etc)
