    For me it always helped me saying "Remember message, not volume" in my head every time they would yell at me... I got yelled at a lot being the guide on for like two weeks... as I was....

    Hey, I just wanted to let you know that you help put my mind at ease a bunch, I watched pretty much all of your videos and Kyle gotts videos on UA-cam, plus a few other airforce youtubers and it has greatly helped, I leave for MEPS tomorrow and will hopefully swear in by Monday. I always wanted to join the military ever since I was little and I just hope everything goes smoothly Monday so that I can swear in to the airforce and finally be able to live out my dream. In any case I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day and making these great videos. Keep up the good work.

    Yo, I got my ship date yesterday! I have only been in deps for 2 months. I am leaving October 13. When he called yesterday a ship date was not even in my mind. I thought he was calling about the 4th of July swear-in at the Rangers game that the recruits from across Dallas and Fort Worth are going to do. Im going open general and I am extremely nervous and excited. This is experience has just gotten very real for me. Just wanted to comment because you give the most descriptive explantions of the experiences and feelings you have in the Air Force. You talk about the little stuff that no one else on youtube does and your videos are quality dude. Keep it up!

    as I have started to watch some of your videos and videos of other people that post stuff about BMT, I wonder if it was something I should have done a long time ago when I was younger. I know it may have given me more opportunities in life and yes travel to different areas of the world that some average people may never get to visit. Thanks for the videos and keep up the good work at keeping people informed that may be considering the military.

    Remember it is a tool in the game of getting to BMT - this exercise is designed to get you to react and startled. The idea is a long held psychological understanding of getting a undisciplined civilian to a recruit mentality in short order. It is called shock and awe phase - it is temporary, first two weeks to transition to the school.

      During my first week of basic my TI was in my face screaming at me about something. I remained at the position of attention but looked at him. Huge Mistake! He spent the next five minutes asking me "DO YOU THINK I'M PRETTY, RECRUIT!? DO YOU WANT TO DATE ME!? DO YOU WANT TO TAKE ME HOME TO MEET YOUR MOMMY AND DADDY!?" at the top of his voice.
      Yeah. Don't eyeball the TI while he's yelling at you. Stay at attention, head and eyes forward. He'll eventually move on to someone else.

      @ seeing the only words coming out of your mouth just reminded me of when I went through Marine Corps boot camp so many years ago....... The only words out of your mouth will be yes sir, no sir and aye aye sir...... Funny thing is that's still how I operate working in an air Force chow hall..... Really freaks out most of my co-workers...... Nothing but discipline.....

    When I didn't wake up early for school, my mom always brought a baseball bat and was slamming it on my bed and yelling at me everyday to get ready for school. The worst part was that her voice was too high that hurts my ears and brain. But i'm used to it now. And I think I can handle the thick voice from MTI than the high annoying yells my mom did every morning. I would be so thankful if my mom yelled at me with a thick voice like MTIs does..

      David Cooper I only know one person who was in band flight, and she says this:
      1. BMT is pretty much the same. Just you will occasionally practice music and during graduation ceremonies you will obviously be playing the national anthem, marching cadences, etc. There's nothing else to it really :/

      +Brooke Montano A few years ago there were MTIs who were molesting/raping people.. The Air Force basically fired everyone from the top down and re-hired new MTIs. Then they implemented a ton of new measures, rules, and training to stop it from happening again.. Really dark times but it's over now

    WildBlueYonder, upon graduating BMT, are graduation rings offered? Highschool and College students tend to buy rings from companies like Jostens. Were rings offered when you were about to graduate?
    Now, a more important question. Is there an AF forum available to the public that you may suggest for me? What MOS typically offers work hours that are the same everyday?

    • @WildBlueYonder
      @WildBlueYonder  9 років тому

      ***** Yes, you can buy a BMT flight ring as well as flight t-shirts, squadron t-shirts, etc. I think we had Jostens do ours as well, but they were like $300 or some crazy BS, so I didn't buy them.
      Hmm idk of any. I don't do forums much, sorry :/ and if you're looking for stable hours, everything BUT Maintenance, Emergency Services(Fire fighters+cops) and ATC has pretty typical 7-3 hours.

    The one thing I'm worried about is laughing when getting yelled st by the MTIs. I pretty much brush off the volume but I do listen. I do tend to laugh if I find someone's anger ridiculous. Loss of freaking bearing, basic rule is do what they say when they say how they say...... Maybe you should see Marine Corps boot camp, no chance to laugh there when you're getting yelled at...... And be the one that looses their bearing, it'll get way worse for you...... In the Marines, you learn instant willingness and obedience to orders, you will have volume and you will maintain your bearing at all times....... Honestly when I was in the Marines, I wasn't scared of a yelling drill instructor, it was when they didn't yell and they were speaking directly to you hella freaking close that you knew all hell was about to break loose

And seriously, look and see what the guy is getting yelled at for, if you did that in Marine Corps boot camp, that would give them permission to light you up for loss of bearing
