- So this is a verbal breakdown of Zero week! Believe it or not, not much consists of zero week since its very short. Maybe a few days so we don't have much to say. So we are here to help get you on the right mind set!

This is a sociological idea for sure. That we are all equally successful. This depends on how your measuring it. In the military we are a unit to learn to be the same. At the end of the day we are different. But we are all equal in the sense we are all equal as humans, and equal as beings, equal as a unit. And since we’re all equaling graduating, we’re all equally successful in the sense of passing everything to get to graduation even if some performed better then others that’s not what’s really the main focus

I agree that you need more recognition. This is the most 'military' and less 'personal' channel that makes military videos. No hate or did-love to other military youtubers.
Nathan Elkins I try to make my videos solely for the benefit of others. I’m not here to be a public face (though that does end up being a side effect) or be a military celebrity. I don’t have any interest in pushing out videos with no substance that don’t meet my criteria of helping others

I absolutely love these videos. Growing up with a Marine uncle, a hard-love stepdad and a strong-willed mother, I've been screamed at in almost the exact same tone and manner of an MTI. We said "Yes/no, ma'am/sir." Didnt speak unless spoken to (until we hit late teens, then we didn't care). Do what you're told, when you're told, and do it fast. Hell, home life is pretty much the same as BMT just without PT and the events that come with BMT. 😅

Thanks for this I’m currently considering join and the only thing hold me back is basic training! I’ve never really experienced someone yelling directions at me and I’m not sure how well I’ll react
My dad fckd up my 1st 10 minutes, my mom and dad were USAF during Vietnam, my dad said they had great tennis courts and bought me a 120$ pair of Prince tennis shoes and a racquet, off the bus we went up the stairs to flights dorm, to the door were the TI goes through you're stuff, and decides what you need and what will be locked in the closet, so you could imagine the reaction from the TI when he opened my bag...I was lucky because somebody came an hour later looking for drummers for the Band Flight, so I moved from day 1 to day 10. and I'm not going to go into detail about band flight, because it's embarrassing, one thing out of 100 that will piss you off is we sit in AC trailers all day and play music, while every day is over 107 degree's in the shade..

Love your stuff. Very informative. I ship out in a week and I am curious, is the tone the MTI's exhibited in your video more or less intense? I've worked in kitchens most of my life and am accustomed to being screamed at and called everything under the sun, but I am curious. Again keep up the good work.
Ahhh.....getting off the bus & repeatedly picking up & putting down your suitcase/bag. They’ve being doing that for 35+ yrs. That’s one thing that hasn’t changed!

My daughter just started on the 31st of July (2018), 322 TRS. I told her tales of BMTS (as We called it back In 1979!), but DAYUUM!! My poor little girl (heh-heh!) Man, I look forward to HER "war stories" of basic when she gets back!

yes but that also depends on if your field is critically manned or not. some areas cant and don't let their people go for DSDs like MTI
Martin Productions I was security forces at a smaller base and I saw 3 guys go for mti and get it. and this was during the big cutback in 2012-2014.

No. If you do anything appearing to be coached prior to basic training they'll think you think you're a know-it-all. They do not go for that. Also if you're parents were/are military, try to keep that on the DL. Same goes for a sibling who may be in. Also don't get your hair buzzed before showing up.

You get your first pay advanced to pay for it. Everyone does that
I just started the process. I'm a sophomore in college looking to obtain 45 college credits (I need 15 more) so I can obtain the rank of E-3 upon graduation. I take my ASVAB in a month and from there, hopefully it goes well. My recruiter told me at the rate I'm going I'll leave for BMT (assuming I pass MEPS which I have no worries for other than my astigmatism) in February.
I should've added that I am looking to join the Air National Guard so I can finish college then transition over to active.
And a quick question to anybody out there. I've heard so many different things from different recruiter. My astigmatism will fail me at MEPS, my astigmatism won't count against me assuming I have 20/20 corrected vision, my astigmatism will affect me, but I will need to get a waiver, or lie about it. Obviously something like that I can't lie about. So, which of the 3 first outcomes are true? Or does it all depend? Please, I need an answer!

Jarek.perkowski: This is something that you will want to go over with your recruiter, generally, you do not need any money when you enlist as you are paid from day one.

Seila every Sunday all day and usually for an hour during the week days
You also have a laundry crew that takes care of it all too. Sunday’s are usually when it’s all done, since you don’t do anything but clean your wall locker and living area all day.
what kind of watch is that? I'm thinking about getting one for basic.
Unless things have changed, airmen in basic do not wear any jewelry, watches, etc. They may wear a wedding ring but that's it. While there if you need to know what time it is, they'll tell you what time it is when they want you to know the time of day.
what do you mean when you say " You will get recycled"?
If you screw up in BMT and say you are in week 6, you can be sent back and be made to repeat previous weeks. You could be sent to join a flight that's in week 4, consequently spending an extra 2 weeks in BMT.
I have a question, in the Air Force, is it true that you CANNOT join if you have flat feet?? I have heard a lot of stories on this!

No, officers will go through OTS, The Academy or they do ROTC and come in as an officer.
