this brother speaking facts. I'm turning 23 in a few days and got sober 8 months ago, first time in rehab and people are definitely more willing to help someone who's younger so I'm glad I got it out of the way when I did. clean and sober 8 months now and I'm feeling great, mad respect to lucky and I hope he can get the help he needs man, living with addiction isn't easy at all, everyone looks down on you like you're less than human when in reality you're being controlled by chemicals in your brain that you can't overpower by yourself. addiction really is a disease and I wish people had more compassion for addicts.

It wasn't cheap, it wasn't easy, I worked every day to support myself and family while going through treatment. It is possible so just know. How bad do you want to be clean and live a honest life? If you want it enough you CAN do it! You owe it to yourself and no one else. You live one life! Nothing worth having is easy and nothing easy is worth having! Much love bro!

It's great that subs help so many people. But I'm also glad that MAT and other options exist... I don't know why, but I couldn't stay clean on subs, they made me feel so empty and everything was gray. These feelings even made me want to use ANYTHING to feel better, I started using differents things I've never had issues with before. I switched to methadone about a month later because I couldn't take feeling so lost and depressed anymore.
So for me, it's methadone that helped me.
I don't know why subs made me feel so horrible mentally, it's interesting how different people can sometimes function in completely different ways.
I guess it's also because I'm on the autism spectrum, and have had issues with depression and anxiety for a long time.
I don't see myself getting off of done in the near future.
People who don't see me as sober because of that can just ignore me, some people take medication for their mental health, and mine is that ! Especially since where I live, you can just get a script for 28 days' worth of it at once, in capsule form. So it looks like a pill like any other and removes so much stigma from it.
I'm really thankful that I don't have the (sometimes major) inconvenience of having to go to the clinic to take my methadone daily, the way it seems to work in the USA. Sounds a bit humiliating, and I feel like it may make getting back to a functioning, normal life a bit more challenging....

@@jaydee6361I've been on them for 8 years and they definitely saved my life. I have no plans to quit because I know me better than anyone.
It feeds the addiction without getting you high. Your not always chasing more and more because there's no tolerance. You can go to work, be involved in your families life and never think about drugs. You just take it when you wake up and don't think about it for the rest of the day. It's so freeing compared to constantly trying to get your next fix every hour.
It's a beautiful thing for certain people and my doctor said if you need to take them for 50 years take em. It's better than the alternative. It should be up to the individual on if and when to quit. Meanwhile it's allowing you to pick up the pieces of your life without the monkey on your back when hardships happen.

I think the camera footage from lucky and his mate - would make a lot of people here, have a bit of a wake up call.. Me and a friend the other day was talking and realised that how numb we have come to things around us and saying things that most( NORMAL ) peeps would be shocked by.. And no I'm not saying this as look at me, I've done this and that. I'm saying it as there's a shockingly bad world out there and it be a wake up call for some people to see it.. Best of luck with your battle LUCKY.. Keep thinking positive..

I hope this doesn't flop in your face, joe, for trying to help lucky. Most times, when someone has a choice between detox or drugs, you know which one they're gonna choose. I'm sorry, but that camera will be sold for drugs. we both know that .

To be honest Joe… Lucky looks like a Fuckn BOSS with that hair doo, those sick shades and the positive energy… like this dude a lot, seen lucky episodes 1-2,3. He has a good heart, his spirit has some hair line fractures. Hope for Lucky hear.

A bit click batey. He was sick & you could tell Lucky wasn't feeling his best but he thugged it out & gave some good convo & perspective. Good to see his journey & good to see APS get back to it's roots & giving a raw perspective of people's day to day life that served time & the challenges they face. I wish nothing but the best for Lucky being a recovering addict myself. I know addiction is a very difficult puzzle to solve. You got this Lucky! Try not to focus too hard on the top of that mountain & how challenging it may be to get there. Just see the path ahead & put one foot infront of the other & you will get there homie.

When you get tired of chasing every day and the stuff isn't even good when you get it makes it worse. You're getting close to getting done with it, dude. Don't give up. It really ain't worth the chase at all. Fight for a better life. It'll be hard, but worth it

Ive lost many to heroine over the last 10 yrs. It's an ugly addiction that consumes its user's. Im bless i guess, I dig some erb once in awhile, thank God not the synthetic gig. H&P Lucky gets footage that scares at least one into getting out of that synthetic situation. Thanks Joe and Lucky.

Lucky if you read this you don’t know how bad I want you to be a success story. I just watched the 2 other interviews back to back and man I like what I saw. Please get clean bro. Please. I know it’s so hard. And it takes incentive to do so. But man I wanna see you thrive so bad

And what’s his $app name? I wanna send him a couple dollars and I’d like to send him a personal message with it n reiterate that this is a golden opportunity for him to get clean and build off it n to take advantage of it, that you’ve helped a couple guys and they screwed you over and blew their opportunity and for him to not make the same mistake. That this is a HUGE opportunity for him..
