It actually creates a remote turn on for your aftermarket amp. Accubass helps bring back the frequency that gets cut.
The LC2i is the best LOC on the market. I cant believe you compared the LC2 to some piece of shit converter off of Ali Express. You would be lucky to get 2 volts from one of those cheap ass LOC's but with the Audio Control you could get up to 9 volts clean. The whole point of the LC2 is to get a signal that is cleaner than most aftermarket units out of your OEM head unit. And it does it very well.
Open one up and see how it's made. You'll be disappointed. I've worked with China as well as engineers here to make something better. It's all the same garbage just packaged together.
@@RobotUnderground that and regular Lc2i doesnt do anything below 33hz. Not sire about the pro, but I bought the regular Lc2i, thinking it was a great unit but kept wondering why I couldnt hit the lower lows below 30hz. Throwing a 10hz test tone in my old system would have the sub flaxing hard (it was in a sealed enclosure). Even with an amp pushing well over what my speakers are rated for it would fall on its face when I got below 30hz. The kicker keyloc seems like a good product aside from being overpriced. It flattens the frequency response from your factory stereo, so if you have a filter that eliminates or attanuates low low frequencies below, lets say, 30hz, the unit flattens the curve so there are no dips in the lower bass and no boost at the 40-45hz range either. Really, in theory, helps conpensate for the frequency roll offs many factory units have. If you're like me and love slamming lows in the 20hz range im thinking the kicker keyloc would be a good product. Do you know of any alternatives that will do the same thing?
No it isn't. Maybe good if you like rock or country, but the Lc2i has a sharp cut off below 33hz so if you like low bass then you are going to be disappointed like I was. Not sure what the response of the Lc2i pro is, but the standard Lc2i sucks. The kicker keyloc, while also expensive, is a much better option if you feel you need to spend that kind of money because it eliminates the factory speaker low frequency roll off amd changes it to a flat eq curve. Priced about the same as the Lc2i but a much better unit.
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix Audiocontrol put solid 33hz subsonic filter on a lot of their processors. It was to protect gear from being blown by the people who crank everything up. They really did themselves a disservice with audiophiles who wanted great SQ and those who want to feel low notes that aren't audible. I have two of their crossovers BNIB because they didn't disclose enough details about their setup so I found our the hard way they aren't designed to run bandpass speaker setups. This is overpriced, underengineered, beautified garbage for the masses who want loud but couldn't tell a 60hz tone from a 70hz tone.
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix If I had to buy something over $100, the Kicker KeyLoc looks great....... HOWEVER, for $20 more I could get the Recoil DSP with 4ch Class D amp and Bluetooth... sooooo.. That's a better deal.

So if your going to be running 2 amps off a stock head unit, how would u do it without this set up seeings how it gives u the option to run 2 amps where the cheap loc's seem to only allow for one.
Most amps have a daisy chain, "out", next to the input. Just run another set of RCA's or just use Y-splitters.
"is it gonna sound as good as the LC2? No"
why wouldn't I want my car audio to sound better?
So does it boost the bass signal when the aftermarket head unit kills it?
It's a one band EQ to help against what the factory system does.. which is turn down the bass as the volume gets louder. You can do the same thing though with a $5 LOC and a $1 pot to control the volume.
So wat converter should i use for 2020 1500 crew cab 12" screen?
It depends on what amp you're using. You might already have it built into your amp. Text me with your name and shipping address and I can add you to my phone. 6023126504
So, I must have missed it. I understand that loc's might be unnecessary if you're amplifiers have high level in. How do I compensate for bass roll off?
Well if your amp has a bass knob, you can just turn it up on your own.
It also allows for up to 50v input for the likes of BMW, and other premium Audi cars. It also boasts load generating built in for these newer cars that need to have load present for the radios and amplifiers that need this to be present to continue to produce an output. You cannot use a line output converter on a 50 volt amp setup in beemers. You will burn it out. You cannot use a basic line out on vehicle needing load generating device. Love your vids but I’m not using a $2 hi-low converter on my customers cars let alone my own.
But Chinese engineering laugh at you!!!!
I want to add a subwoofer to a 2022 Hyundai Palisade and wondering how I figure out the wiring diagram? Can anyone please help me because I have a hard time finding information. Wondering where to tap in and where the speaker wires are routed. Also does anyone know if the head unit has to be pulled to do this. I'm looking to possibly add a powered subwoofer if that is recommended.
Look for the subwoofer location there. You can disconnect the subwoofer and use that pair of wires for signal with an LOC or an amp with high level inputs. You can text me direct for more support, 6023126504
Curious if this also works with aftermerket radio, and speakers. I have an atoto radio but I’m not sure if it’s powerful enough.
Yeah should be fine but also check the amplifier to see if it has high level inputs
What do you mean by “when I was working on Concept stuff?” Did you have anything to do with the company Concept Car Audio? We sold a ton of that stuff at the shop I worked at in college.
We bought them out in 2018. They finally closed their warehouse and we bought the remaining inventory.
Also as me as a person thats not an idiot I would suggest an lc2 for a system where the bass just isn't there like in alot of the cars there just shit and you have set the gain so high that is starts to clip in some ranges and its just best to have a way to bust the range back to where it needs to be
Except the Lc2i doesnt respond below 33hz, so if you like really low bass youll be disappointed like I was. A cheap LOC I tried was much better and those sub 30hz bass tones I was missing was back.
@@Jackmerius_Tacktheretrix that's worng man the cut off of the lc2i is at 25 Hz so your probably having an enclosure issue or your amp subsonic filter is two high how do I know this I toke a rda to one one and measured the output frequency of it at the rca output so of your having an issues you should look in to other things such as the car and more
@@fxandbabygirllvvs the Lc2i pro is 20hz, the regular Lc2i is 33hz. Im using the same enclosure and subs as before. Only differe is was the Lc2i. Ran a cheap loc I had laying around and it was a big difference. The frequency response of the standard Lc2i is 33hz on up. This is a common topic in the audio forums. The JL goes from 3hz on up, the kicker keyloc goes low too but it flattens the eq curve so if your stock radio rolls off the lower frequencies it brings them back up to where all if the frequencies play at the same level with no dips.
So since you're obviously against this or not quite for it, what do you recommend we use?
I'm glad you asked. Watch for the next video

In most cars that have roll off the amp have a dsp built in the workplace a clip limter that stops it like I belive is -6 db on the 45 hz and below
How can you compare active low frequency converter to passive? LC2i is very good and useful. Do you know anything about electronics?
So the LC2i is digital?
@@RobotUnderground yes thats why it requires 12volts input
@@mirzasaj LOL! It's all analog. Please do your research.
@@RobotUnderground hello it doesnt have digital screen it has analog setting i have one it does lot of things and main feature is that it adds 9.5v and compensate these volts in adding power to output the passive ones dont add any power they consume from speaker u need to do research not me. There is no comparison between active and passive LOC.
@@RobotUnderground infact i moved from passive to active LOC so i have experience with both and there is a world of difference you should know how to utilize and adjust and fine tune any audio equipment else u dont get results. I have LC2i PRO Version and it can even sense the power in speaker. U cant compare this with cheap chinese product.
The LC2iPRO is one of the best pieces on the market for integrating a sub or adding speakers and an amp to a factory radio. Don't always trust the amplifiers built in hi level inputs and signal sense. many times, in newer vehicles the output from the stock system can be too much for the Amplifiers hi level inputs. Can cause amps to go into protection or worse. Also, with many vehicles when radio is turned off and before amps signal sense times out, it's possible to get a low frequency back feed that can be quite loud. The LC2iPRO will fix these problems. Just had these exact problems yesterday on a 2016 CT6, installed the LC2iPRO and problems solved. Also have good luck with the WAVTECH stuff but like they AudioControl better. So don't let this video deter you from purchasing a LC2iPRO.
Also very expensive. I do think it's odd that you'd trust the amplifier designer and company to build the amp but not the built in LOC.
Bull hookie. Digital opitcal inputs and .or HDMI inputs, and you would not lose any bass frequency. It's happening because of speaker wire and unbalanced RCA inputs are the only thing offered. And RCA connections are crap! That's 1970's technology! It doesn't make sense to play lossless files unless you have an optical input. Nothing transfers more music or sound data quickly than fiber optics. period. Hell, HDMI would even be better than RCA's. The consumer must waste money for products he really does not need (LC2iPro) because car stereo systems are not using the latest tech. It's really a ripoff.
@@johannjohann6523 really lol.
@@RobotUnderground not all amps are equal, i would trust some but not others and plus from 36 years' experience I have seen times where the amps high level inputs would cause issues more often than not, so as a habit i don't use them unless it's a very high-end product. And it's not that expensive.
I had a 85' Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham D'elegance (the car was long as it's name)back in the day. The trunk was so air tight I couldn't hear any bass unless I popped it up. So here I am riding round town with my trunk cracked open and every bump my trunk lid is flying up. So funny and embarrassing at the same time 😂
The things we do for bass. Thanks for sharing.
I've just assumed the audiocontrol epicenter was a fancy bass boost, but I've never played with one becaise I never use bass boost on my amps so felt I needed one.
it's not a bass boost it brings music up to date like 80s 90s music orginal recorded if that makes since.
I believe it restores the bass in some songs especially mexican music. I've also heard it adds the bass to music aswell
The Epicenter is a bass generator. It takes a que from the low notes in a song and replicates it at a lower octave. They're not great. I consider them jewelry for imbeciles who think gadgets make their system look cool and don't know how to adjust an eq.
I tried to find your site and I'm having issues
There's not really a site any longer, Square recently shut everything down due to fraud, idiots doing chargebacks. You can check out the Google page though, goo.gl/BC9zX7
ya i just ditched mine because i found out it has a filter that filters out frequencies below 29hz..and there isnt any way to fix unless you get one from audio control that's been programmed for lower frequencies and even then it still sounds like crap.. now mine is only being used as a really expensive remote turn on for my amps..now that i got a new headunit and all my signals coming form there straight to the amps it sounds soooooooooo much better and gets way lower than before.. those things suck un less you absolutely need it i would stay away from them
Well they're just an expensive solution is all.
This really screws with whatever little I understood about lc2i. I thought it's whole purpose and advantage over all the other locs is the fact that it can be used to fix bass roll off and send remote signal to the amp.
It just adjusts as you crank it. That's all. In many cases, I just hack at the OEM amp and add Bluetooth instead. Then your phone is the head unit and no more bass being backed down. Plus your there's all kinds of DSP apps for Android.
@@RobotUnderground how you hack your oem amp?
@@paulvivier8594 It depends on the amp. Text me pics of the guts 6023126504
First thing I did when I got my 'used' van, ripped out all the stock audio equipment. Stock sucks. Now my Pioneer AVH-601EX is a badass stereo. Full blast with no clipping. Tested with the DD1. Built in crossovers, phase orientation, name it. We'll worth the 600 bucks.
I use an avic z1...old but its got every thing I cant find on newer radios. And hacking it is simple for using in any car...no load control for voltage of new cars but if u rip all factory audio out ots the best core for a system in my opinion of course. I know nothing im a stoner
Check out my buddy Art who used to work for MTX. ua-cam.com/video/bRzn1KCX2sQ/v-deo.html
Cute. So you either have an old piece of crap car or a newer car with no air conditioner or back up cameras
I can tell this guy has been called stupid a lot in his lifetime
“And if your buying a new car… your pretty much an idiot” LMFAO I’m dead… so true
Hook up high level inputs to amp and then use lc2i pro and make a video. I've always wondered if it make a big difference
(Wall of text...) It makes a huge difference. I installed a 12" sub in a ported enclosure in the trunk of my factory amplified Challenger. Pushing it with a 500w RMS mono sub amp that has LPF, Subsonic and Gain adjustments. I tried three configurations: 1- Direct feed from rear full range speakers to high level inputs on amp, 2- Cheaper PAC sni-35 LOC, and 3- The AC LC2iPro..... Direct feed was terrible, the PAC LOC was worse, and got hot, very hot. Installed the LC2iPro, and now the sub shakes the whole car, like it's supposed to. Just be sure everything is set up properly, starting with finding your head units clipping point, then your LOC, then your AMP. I used an oscilloscope for setting just below clipping with a 40hz 0db test tone (all three install methods). I also set the amp gain with the vehicle running and the sub connected to make sure the amp was getting full power and to account for any drop across the voltage rails. The RTA shows 20hz frequencies present, so the LC2iP is passing them through. The beauty of this, is that it completely restored the factory bass roll-off that the cheaper LOC could not do. I'm not a "Bass Head", but I do like to have the full sound from my music, regardless of volume level.
Those prime amps are beasts.
Im running mine off the lil scosche (active) unit spliced off the rears.
Robot blasphemous as usual.
Audiology 101 👍
There is no other type of robot imo. Long live Bender!
Lc2i was a major step up from schsche ...I do not own the pro but the original version os great for me
I could not make it through this video. I even skipped forward 5 minutes into the video as someone else suggested it.
Its called roll off it basically stops at a set db peak and everything else doesn't roll as bad
That particular Rockford amp, as a matter of fact most Rockford amps would accept hi level inputs of up to 11vac . A lot of these newer vehicle or amplifiers put much more than that. This would cause a problem using the hi level inputs of these amps. Yes works great for older or non amplified vehicles but that is not what these LC2i Pros were meant for. The LC2i and LC2i Pro do the same things with Pro model adding load generating feature for modern vehicles featuring class d amplifiers that need a load signal like a speaker in order to operate. Does everyone need one? No. But go ahead and use a $2 hi low converter or the hi level input feature on your amp on say an amplified vehicle say like 2018 F150 with Sony or B/O and let me know how it goes. Again love the vids.👍
Grab an active unit instead and catch the signal before the amplifier. Its only relative that people with certain cars want certain stuff but you could slip that in with no problem.
@@atmosphericpressure3560 you mean a pre amp correct? There is no one size fits all. There are many products out there to integrate with vehicles. You cannot use an " active unit" on all vehicles. You cannot retain certain oe featured by going before amplifier. There is no one fits all. Not all most amplified vehicles have " active units"
Available so you must go post amplifier and you are not going to do that with a loc at least not a cheap one. But I do understand where you are getting at. Sometimes we use preamps for certain vehicles. Sometimes we have to go past amp with a dsp for summing channels. I was just commenting on the fact that the old hi low converter days are passing us by. Yes you can use them on some cars but definatley not all
But the alibaba LOC wouldn't look good on a rack. And if I've learned anything about car audio over the years, it's all about how things look. Now let's high five!
It may be "overpriced". I think most Audio Control products are, and their amps do not offer much power for the price. But that said, I do think they have good quality products, and I know their LC2 has a good clean signal. I do think Audio Control components work and are made well. Let's hope so for their price, right?
If the price wasn't an issue nobody would need to make an alternative
Do you even O scope bro?
No need. I have ears. My buddy Art shows you how to do it with a DVM if you don't have ears. ua-cam.com/video/bRzn1KCX2sQ/v-deo.html

I have a 2016 bmw 550i that I installed 2 12’s with a 3500w amp with an Lc2i hooked up to the factory sub speaker outputs. Its sounds great but when I listened to bass boosted music my subs wouldn’t play any frequencies below 29hz and for the longest time I blamed the factory stereo’ one day I was talking to a tech support guy at audio control about something different and the lc2i came up in the conversation and he told me it has a programmed subsonic filter that cuts everything below 29hz by either 9db or 12db. I then explained to him their specs say it has a frequency range of 20khz to 10hz and they need to correct the specifications so people who listen to bass boosted music on a factory stereo that have subs capable of playing below 29hz wont by that piece of shit. They sent me an lc2i programmed to play below 25hz and it sucked ass too. I now have the Jl audio LOC that is marginally better but not as good as an aftermarket deck that produces the full frequency range. I tried my box and amp in a friends car with some pioneer woopty doo deck and my subs played down to 20hz with no problem’ but most people who buy the LC2i dont listen to that kind of music. My amp is a Sound Qubed (AQ3500) and my subs are FI BTLs in a 4th order ported thru the ski pass. I went 4th order because my ported box rattled my trunk and it sounded like ass’ the 4th order doesn’t rattle at all from the trunk.
Kicker keyloc will bring your signal back completely flat. Kicker says it can go as high as 12 db for those diminished signals. Hate that i ever bought an lc2i

That means it’s been registered as a trademark. And, a lot of those cheap LOC’s can’t handle a lot of wattage. They blow up. So save your negative remarks and stop hatin. Are you an electrical engineer? If you are then be professional. If not, I wasted about 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Oh yea. You mad bro? Lol
Cool. I hope to be on the cover of, "Unprofessional", magazine every month. Thanks for the compliment.
Want to donate that item again? Lol I'll take it
funny thing is i know this device came from, idiots tapped the rear speakers on a Ford where the bass signal is all on the front speakers. the rear speakers on Ford are nothing but rear fill signal very limited on bass out put. this was completely a waste of money.
This is an install related issue not product.
They're all install related. The point of the review is that you don't need this product. Just like nobody uses cassettes any longer so why are they still making the Epicenter?? That's what it was designed for.
🛎 🛎 “DING”... ⚰️

I finally realized that my air force instructors were playing a joke on me. Thanks for the heads up.
eBay 60$ new thank me later just bought one
This guy is so funny dude damn awesome vid🤣🤣🤣🤣
Blaupunkt has a clone of this. damn near same specs and hardware. Under $40 on aMaZon.
Correct. Sometimes it bounces back and forth between the Gravity version and some other Boss Group brands. I've seen them as low as $28.
Funny cause Lexus is owned by Toyota. Haha and the ending of the video gets a subscribe. 🤣
Dude have you ever thought you just suck at installing systems....I own two bmws a x5 and 550i and I can turn mine up all the way and I haven't blown a sub and my windows wave when I turn it up....long story short guys and girls install your own system because a lot of shops really just aren't good at installing systems tunes and tints being one!!!!

lol. You're a douche BMW owner. That's your problem. Back to reality.
5:03..🤣🤣🤣
The kicker keyloc will correct the diminished frequencies back to flat up to 12 db, Lc2i will not correct the frequencies that have been compromised. The diminished frequencies aren't the same issue as roll off. The kicker is a better product for people who like bass more than audiocontrol's brand name. The keyloc has an rta that comes with it, costs $130ish. Audiocontrol's rta equipment costs a lot more than 120.
the audio control is the superior device offering ease of use, and other really important features to many people.
Every loc sounded like ass, used this and now perfection. Most think I'm using a custom head unit yet it's the stock
corolla 2018 head unit. When tuned perfectly, there is zero bass roll off and sound amazing. Running TWO American bass 12 inch HAWKS.
Im glad it worked out for you. Those hawks look noice!
@@dgam8261 They're animals for the price, so strong too. Sparkly cones XD
A long and boring ad for his recoil stuff.
I'm sorry that you're dumb
@@RobotUnderground I'm sure that you're a sorry abrasive jerk.
Lol deaf customers.... never had that issue..that's new 1...and then setting gains...lol..that's great tech sets gains....then idiot customer turns everything up... bass max ..loudness max. turns radio over clip point... destroyes everythingand says.."I was playing it low and it just quit"
This video is so misleading and you missed the use of this device. I use the LCI2 for android radio setups, the reason is that their RCA outs are garbage and hardly go beyond 1.5V, with the Lci2 u can get 8.5V WITHOUT distortion! What this means is that some Chinese radios actually have good sound coming out of the amplifier but horrible sound coming out of their RCA's. This device allows you to compensate for that shortcoming. Lets face it Android HEADS ROCK! They are basically computers that allow you to download any app and allow multiple choice in GPS internet radio streams, so much that high end pioneer and alpine and Sony barely can do at $1000 price. I bought a pioneer with gps on the box, and then I found out that on top of my $750 purchase, Pioneer expects me to buy a 250 box that plugs into the head to give it GPS capability. So yes it can do it, but no not out of the box. An android radio can do it all, but not always in high fidelity. The good news is that manufacturers like Joying and other high end android car units actually have a really decent amplifier chip and if you rig up an LCI2 to the speaker outs, of say the front or rear channels, you will have some kick ass RCA outs that the original manufacturer can not compete with. So for 400 + LCI2, you get a head unit much more capable than the high-end junk from pioneer and alpine! Also Pioneer and Alpine, stop supporting their radios after 10 years, or so good luck getting updates... most of these folks will tell you to just spend another 1000 on a new unit. Android allows you to have the latest GPS and a choice between wayz or google maps, or whom ever else will do gps in the future... every streaming service has an android app these days... in fact, the high end alpine and pioneer pride themselves that they allow you to load android apps on their units, but often with restrictions. do the smart thing and get an android + lci2 and you will sound as good as any system out there. All my back end stuff is JL Audio, and my android head unit with an LCI2 sound awesome!
EDIT: why AudioControl LCi2, because when you test this unit with an SMD dd1+, its distortion free to up to 8.9V!!! Every other offering out there can barely handle 2V, most android heads can only do 1.5V, Sure the have digital out, but have you seen the price of a digital Input car amplifier? This little box, has the best sound on the market for this very purpose. When you test this thing, it blows the competition away by a huge margin! Stay off aliexpress, most of the crap there is garbage... there are some good RCA converters, but they are very very rare, Kicker has a good one and cheap for $29.... however, if you are setting this up in system with amps and good speakers you will not mind spending the extra 50 bucks for controls and a bass regulation knob, honestly in the above scenario, this unit is really not that expensive.
I'm sorry that you're using it wrong You should check out my video about head units and the way that manufacturers are misleading about the output voltage. Here's the link. ua-cam.com/video/FM8WnRUtHN4/v-deo.html

@@RobotUnderground These things are a grand? That's a lot for a crippled eq/line converter.
@@chuckschillingvideos Oh no. No more than about $200 or so in most places. Many times you can get them for under $100 or used for around $80. I was saying that $1000 can score quite a bit in equipment from me.
This guy has lots of opinions. Lol
man wtf haaahaaaaaaa. shit funny as hell
"Set amp gain by ear" as in an expired 20 year old technique that no longer works with current technology.
I'm sorry that you still think that audio has changed over the hundred years or so that it's been around. It has not. We still use decibels which is a Bell Labs standard. I especially feel bad for you that you think you are detached from that past. When you build with no foundation you will always fall
Yea, it's been 100 years since the first radio system was installed in a car, and guess what... just like engine optimization, fuel systems have improved, so have audio systems. You don't set points on a vehicle that has coil on plug, or try to advance the distributor when there isn't one. Just as points and distributors are a thing of the past, so is setting gains by ear, when there are several better techniques and tools available to do the same thing in a more efficient and accurate manner.
You talk a lot but you have nothing sensible to say. You should look more into what you review before posting. Good luck...
This guy just keeps running his mouth and don’t get to his point till half way into his video
And you can over power you high level inputs on your amp with a factory radio
Wtf omg
Its junk but u got one ohh okay
lol. Someone donated it after I showed them how to function without it.
I then sold it for $80 to someone that didn't want to take my advice.
@robotunderground how can I make it work with out it? Mine just took a shit
@@ernie5513 Text me with your setup.
But lexus and toyota are the same hahaha
Apparently only Steve Meade knows how to set gains properly and you need his special doodad.
I got flamed by all the SMD simps for saying that it was all smoke and mirrors. I've literally been sitting gains by ear since the 90s and have never had a problem with a system.. same with my Dayton audio buyout special HT plate amplifier.. it's 20 years old and still working.. gain also set by ear, but those kind of people don't want to hear that

The reviewer is missing the point that some of these features are useful to some people. It is moronic to review something as bad because it has features you wont use LOL. Last review I will watch from this guy. Where is his distortion measurements….that is what separates a cheap LOC from a quality one. Dont waist your time on this video unless you just want to make fun of a guy who doesnt know what he is doing as a reviewer!

I use the line out converter to hook up my car amplifier on my home pre amp. I tryed to hook up a bunch of the other cheap ones like you were showing but every one I used smoked every time I raised the volume up after 6 different ones I tryed audio control it was the only one that worked and didn't smoke when turned up running the two amplifiers. I never try to hook it up straight to the amp I didn't want to chance burning up a 1000w amplifier. I Never used it in a car or the way it was probably intended for🙈💣🔥🤞😅👍👌✌️💯🎶

Well, it's that I hate to see simple things being sold for so much. This is true in healthcare, real estate, law practice, transportation and even utilities that are supposed to be priced to where they're affordable. AC is taking advantage of people. That's why I seem sad when I do reviews on expensive stuff.
