Soundstream introduced a new line of amplifiers for 2019 called the "Bass Extreme" series. There are four monoblocks and one four channel in the lineup. They all include a built-in bass processor and seemingly lots of power for the money. The one we are testing today is the top of the line model, the BXA1-10000D, claimed as 10,000 watts MAX. We all know there's no way you are getting 10kW for $200. The Soundstream website provides "RMS" numbers of 1400, 2100 and 3300 watts at 4, 2 and 1 ohm respectively.
Let's take a closer look at this "10kW" amp and see how it performs. Make sure you keep watching all the way until the end of the video as I also test a Bass Rockers BR2000.1D amp

3000 watts for $200. Not bad at all
i bought this exact amp (soundstream) and it lasted me just under a month. this video explains why! i was forcing it to play 3000 watts lmao XD i used ohms law and a multi meter :D
The guts look like crap
The soundqubed is the one I got and I love it need a secondary one
My AR-4500 cut off at certain frequencies at 1 ohm it cldn't take some tracks at all. IDK why ppl mess with epsilon gear anymore when a few more bucks they can grab a wolfram ,audiopipe or skar.
Soundstream let me down. Just be honest; 2k rms and 3k dynamic for 200 bucks is a good deal, no need for the 10k lies.
True
I agree. I own this amp, I bought it expecting about 2-3k and it's not too bad . It pounds. Decent SQ
I agree too. I wonder if we soon see new vawe of cheater amps. I still got old Soundstream Rubicon 204 rated 4x25w got measured 2x38w+1x138w. I think someone won IASCA championship with same amp. Back in the days I drive 12" sub and Component Set with it. If they had rated amp on this video 2000w rms everybody would be Happy to get little extra and lots of dynamic power. Soon everyone would want to buy these...
Ilkka Kanerva I own two T4-12. But I only have one install in my car pair with rubicon 1002 and I love how it hits my coworkers always make me offers but I can’t just sell them they’re old school stuff
Agreed. Would have been impressed with the truth. Let down with those lies.
Now you know why it only has 1/2 of a tarantula.
Robert Van Hoy full tarantula is a 20k lol
I just bought another one of these BR 2000.1 Ds. they're extremely reliable. my last one got damaged by no fault of the manufacturer, my stupidity.. but already replaced all the mosfets that blew and she's alive again! So figured i'd buy it a twin.
Solid video. Kuddos for making every video simple and straight to the point.
Thanks brother man!
Of course the amp that was somewhat legit is unavailable... 😖 SoundStream foolin on this one tho. Great 2fer video!
Its sad that a lot of these big name audio brands of back in the day are a shell of themselves today. I wonder what they higher end amps can do like the x3.71 and there 14.71 or 14k not sure if i got that right but the 3.71 share a lot similarities with the powerbass xta 5k amp. Anyway good video Big D i havent watched a video in a while good to see u still doing ur thing.
I bought the X3.71, but it was broken and I had to send it back. I was bummed. Seemed like it would be a powerhouse
man this makes me miss my old TR1600-1 .... what soundstream used to be.
ME PERSONALLY I THINK 200 BUCKS FOR A 2000+ WATT AMP IS A GOOD DEAL. BUT WE CONSUMERS ARE TIRED OF MANUFACTURERS INFLATING NUMBERS TO TRICK PEOPLE.
They must use ºF to ºC conversion type of numbers..lol
@Dave Micolichek I'm hard of hearing man....
honestly, like you said skinnyWhiteguy, 200 bucks for 2k watts is a damn good deal wished they would of labeled it more accurately. if you do end up owning it, your friends will see it and think you have a 10k plus system....so, who cares.
@@skinnyWHITEgoyim sundown has a 3k amp thats only 300 dollars true 3k watts too none of that 3k max crap
Unfortunately Noah there isn’t anything offered from sundown for $300 that’s 3k watts nor skar, DC, Ampere or any major brand
105 degree caps and for that amount of power it's a steal. My first amps were a 45 watt linear and a punch 75 so I love the price
I'm old school too, first real Amp was a punch 75, before that could only afford crap. Crazy how prices came down. I just bought a Soundqubed s1-1250 shipped for $149 direct, back in the late 80s, Amp would have been 3 feet long, cost 1500.
People are complaining but I remember back in the 80s when 500 watts would have cost you $750. And that was back when minimum wage was $4 an hour.
Oh, I remember those days. My Fosgate Power Series Mono amps (250M) 250 watt were a little over $500 each. Still have them and use to this day though.
Sound Stream’s outrageous wattage claims are crazy but beyond that, 2k for 200 isn’t bad. And In a few weeks those sounds streams will be sold out. The Bass Rocker is super nice too and much respect to them for being as truthful as possible.
I was most surprised by the Bass Rocker!
Thanks for sharing the info.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Both are very nice looking amps. The heatsinks on the soundstream amp remides me of their picasso nano amps.
U should dyno hifonics Brutus 4000.1d next
These dyno vids make me feel like Fox Mulder. "I WANT TO BELIEVE!"
😬👍
Pretty good amp if it was honestly rated.
Seems to be decent and for the $$ a great value
These Nuts !!
What do you think my pyramid pb600 Gold Series amp from the 90s was actually putting out in 4 ohm? It would get so hot you could practically light a cigarette on it and it never shut down love that amp.
Good to know my 2500.1d soundstream rated at 2500w at 1ohm is a 10,000w nice lol god they need to fix there rating
Was the good choice to buy my 2500.1d when i did
Ridickulous!!
😜👍
I love that Sanford and son, break, you big dummy, lollĺlll, I like you channel, lol
Thanks for watching and commenting!
SoundStream used to be high end. Why not just be honest and say 2K watt amp for $200? It’s a good deal and saves face. I expect the low end companies to lie.
What happened to Soundstream? They were the power leaders back in the day.
I have this amp won't stop flashing
Thaks man
Still some nice number for $200.
What about those power acoustik amps?
They are ok amps but do not do rated. I got a refurbished one off ebay and it is good for the price. Says 3500 watts but puts out about 1500
2k for $200 isn't too bad wish they would just keep it real
What's up will I really need your help and advice ON my 5I Taramp, I don't know why it's in protection mode and why does it gets hot without any power coming from the deck so if you could would please give me some Advice. Thanks
I'm curious how many watts would it put out a return on the crossover
I think if you had a higher resolution like the Asellus cope or something to measure though millisecond burst from the They might get 10000 W peak for a millisecond which doesn't matter.
😝👍
I'm trying to find a 6x8 speaker that will handle alot of power I have hurt not blown a set of jbl gx862s I love the way they sound but there starting to fail I running then with a duel xp84d which has been a incredible little amp for the last year only paid 60bucks for it wats your recommendation don't want to spend a crazy amount of money like 150bucks or less thanks
4 left in stock? People buy these?
Okay, I will say something about these over rated numbers: problem is if this amp (and many other with over rated numbers like this) was advertised properly I would know which speakers I could pair it up with...But because of the false numbers, I wouldn't know I could pair them up safely - hence I likely won't, and they lose a sale.
It makes the Sound Scream 😱
It breaks my heart when I see these numbers because my old sound stream davinci and my reference amps were amazing and they did there actual power !!! What has happened to sound stream
I remember when sound stream was top of the line....😥
I don't know if they were ever "top of the line" but definitely much better quality then they are now
@Tekboy 808 maxxsonics has nothing to do with Epsilon.
I use to own a reference 5 channel and I use to play music very loud for like 8 hours straight with it and it hardly ever use to get hot . Only time I'd get a little heat from it was when I used 2x12 on the sub channel
@@jharkless92 You must be either young or not much of an audiophile. Soundstream was definately top of the line 80s and 90s. I owned one of the original Tarantula amps which blew everything else away at that time.
@@vegaslimoguy2376 to be fair I wasn't even old enough to have a car in the 80's so u got me there
Why they got to lie? $200 for 2,000 w? No shame in that.
Skar 2000 was better and rated accurately for the same $199.
@@Ebacherville Skarbage
@@jase1911 not the sk series only the rp series
@@generalkickass6385 just a cheap copy of the sundown audio subs
@@jase1911 except skar forgets to glue surrounds out of the factory hahaha
Yet again, if they'd only post the true wattage it would be a good buy
It’d probably sell even better if they claimed alittle less than what it can actually do
its still a good buy...just know what to expect
@Th3Aggr3ssiv3 Cons3rvativ3 would you buy a hellcat that is labeled 700hp and be happy with 300?
Brian South nobody buys a hellcat for the price of a Hyundai.
Well, considering the purchase price 2k rms for 200 dollars is amazing , I'm sure you remember 1999-2007, 2000 watts rms would cost you a arm and a leg. I wish they would have just labeled it correctly and been done
This line of thinking is ... DATED... it doesn't matter what audio equipment cost 20-30 years ago that would be like expecting misleading ratings on microwave ovens because they cost pennies today compared to 1985 ... The VCR cost $1400 when it first came out and by the early 90s you could buy a VCR of better quality than the $1400 ones that first came out for $200 or less ... Electronics drop severely in price when the technology is old and you have many handfuls of companies manufacturing the products not just a few ...lol... or 1 or 2 .
Now they want 300 for the 2000rms amp and still no 0ga inputs
That line of thinking was FACTUAL. Get over it
On dollar per watt, back in the days, i felt ripped off. I cant complain.
Test the "HUMAN REIGN" amp please. 😨 or even the "DaVinci" from back in the day. Or even the XXX any of these classes of soundstream amps.
The human reign is almost impossible to find. Not to mention the 2 I've seen were $4200 and $5000k. That amp is iconic and sq is unmatchable. Would be cool to see a test though.
So it is equivalent to the Rockford fossgate T 1500.1 BDC P. And it is 25% the price. Sounds like a deal to me but you better cover up that 10000 when you put it up in your trunk.
Sound quality is something to consider rather than just raw wattage output. My T1500-1bdcp definitely sounds different (deeper and cleaner) than what it replaced.
Rockford Fosgate is a class BD Sound Stream is a class D. Thats Like comparing a Ford Pinto to a Shelby Mustang.
@@505Tempest I totally agree.
It looks like the engineers over there at Soundstream set out to design a decent amp but the marketing department stepped in and made them look like big dummies. It looks like a quality amp. You don't see 105 degree caps in very many amps on the market these days when 85 degree caps are so much cheaper.
The board layout looks to be their own design. Does anyone know if this board design is being used by any other companies?
If they where straight with the numbers they might actually be able to regain their reputation. Soundstream did make quality products once upon a time. I've always been an Orion guy myself and I ran Hollywood Sound Labs too back in the day but I put Soundstream amps in friends vehicles in the 90's and they where good back then.
Love the intro, production, editing, everything. What a great channel!
BenJamminMahn same here. I like watching and I like the direction of his videos. Also like the improvements he made to videos over the years and it’s all him and nothing seems influenced by outside means.
So for $200 on the soundstream you get...
4ohm - 800w
2ohm - 1400w
1ohm - 2200w
Not too bad..... I don't get these companies with this overrated foolishness
I've seen the BR stuff on eBay.....wanted to pull the trigger on the 500x2 and some of the subs to try out...thanks 4 the tests....but man, once again I hate how the brands I grew up on now just look like crap
I can't stand when people say they have a 10,000 watt amp. Dang how much did you pay for that? About 200 bucks.. No, no you don't.
You know what I think I just figured out why these companies put the output ratings on the amps like this. Cant believe we older people didn’t notice it. But they are using some COMMON CORE math numbers. Duh.
👈😜👍
They rate these amps this way because a lot of people I know only look at that big number. Even when I tell them by the fuses in their amp there is no way it can get those numbers etc..... Some people just dont know. Thanks for yet another test video.
So basically the Nissan of car amps. Might work for 3-12 months if you're luck and have low standards, but plan on replacing it with something that actually works properly (nissan cannot make a transmission to save their company).
Sad to see the soundstream name come to this. Had soundstream back in the day and it was an awesome amp. Bought a 600 watt mono amp about 5 years ago and it is still hitting hard to this day. It’s a full on fleamarket brand now.
2011joser : It turned flea market back in early/mid 90’s.. before then they were like Ferrari or Porsche (top models included)... They don’t make cars cheap enough (in my country) to compare to this amp now
Owned by epislion still. There's not one thing wrong w them there's different amp lines for different consumers. Did you know soundstream has a dealer only line of amps n subs you won't find on eBay or Amazon also it's my understanding you can't simply buy it and install yourself. I think the only way you or I can rock it is to have it installed by a certified installer
Bass rockers ... Is basically what I have with the ard1.8000d ... Same guts same internal wiring and all same power too only difference is I only have one single subs output .. 4 gauge ... But I would love to have dual 8 gauge outputs ... Another thing was I hade to shave down my stinger 4 gauge to 0 gauge reducer in order to fit .. I hated that too .. otherwise this amp has been great to me never overheats .. very efficient ..
Interesting 🤔
Another amp bites the dust🎶🎶🎶
Exposing these company...(starting 2 piss them off😂😂😂)
I really didn't have to watch this video to know that this amplifier wouldn't do rated rms only reason why I watched the video because big d the man and I have that much respect for big d and I love his videos
Hey Big D! I’m sure you are aware that these inflated ratings are an issue throughout a portion of the auto and home audio community. The good folks over at Audioholics have started a petition for truth in power claims. I realize that home audio is a somewhat different arena, but as you are committed to the same idea I thought you would be interested in signing with us. Perhaps you could sponsor a similar action for mobile electronics! Thanks for your time.
I will check that out, thanks!
Nice... Im going to go buy 6 of them to get 10k lol
Can anyone tell me what kind of loud speakers to get
Not sure what it is going to take for people (the consumers) to realize that if an audio company has a "parent company" it is most likely that their products aren't worth anything. "Parent companies" (corporations) bought up the decent audio companies to bring down the standards to entry level - WITHOUT keeping the quality of the original company.
Example: HiFonics was good until it was bought by Maxxsonics... now it is mostly crap. Orion is now made by "MD Engineering", but has kept - and possibly increased - the quality...
Orion has kept it's quality, but has introduced a crap line called ztreet.
I have a suggestion for you. Ct amps is the biggest out there. They are the new budget amps. Could you test them to see hiw true they are man.
I approve this message.
I have the 2nd reintroduction of the REF series love them been running them jeez ? 10 years approx went back to there site last year and no longer made that sucks
How the mighty have fallen. Back in the day Soundstream was one of "the" amps to get. Not so much now apparently.
Back in the day anything that was near those numbers were unheard of , most amps would break down at 300 w 4 ohm .
SS would put actual power it would sell without goosing the numbers .
I would buy it , just be honest.
How do companies legally advertise those wattages.
I like the bass processor built in for the price ... I listen to Mexican music and it's a must for me .. I hate wiring the bass processor separate ... Only one knob and one set of wires is awesome .
Yes, just be careful turning that bass adjustment. It can max out the amp rather quickly
@@wal you can say that again ! Ive seen buddies blowing up subs in a weeks time .
The only way that amp will do rated power is you change the fuses out to 300 amps each and feed it 600 amps. You will get rated power along with a good smoke show.
Overall it's a good budget amp
👈😝👍
Totally agree 👍😊😊😊
test the soundstream ta1.3000.1d 😎👍
Wow, I’m surprised. Soundstream was a very highly regarded amp back in the day.
That Bass Rockers seems identical to the Earthquake Mini D2500 and Audiopipe Mini APSM-2000. I think there may also be others that use the exact same design.
Makes me want to cry when I think back to my the days of when I was running my 2 Soundstream 10.0 SHAME ON YOU Soundstream for tarnishing a great name, should change name to SOUNDCLOWN. Thanks Big D great video as always.
So sad....
Rite on!
AMP company's overrate the watts because it SELL'S AMPLIFIER'S!!!!!!
Even so-called people who think they know about amplifier's will buy these amps that's why they OVERATE WATTAGE on there amp's period..........
Hmm, wonder if Soundstream is going to let everyone review and dyno this amp, then later switch out to a cheaper board without telling anyone like they did with the TN4.900D and TN1.1200D? Those originally were decent amps and I thought Soundstream was turning itself around. Then they relied on that "specifications may be subject to degrade" err I mean "change" loophole. Well, their specs may be subject to change, but our opinions aren't. For that, I call them SHADYSTREAM. Seriously, the people that bought those newer amps based on all the good reviews of the older boards really got duped. SHAMESTREAM! as well as SH!TTYSTREAM! are all well deserved names too.
If they would just post what this amp rely does, they may actually sell more of them. It’s not bad for the price, but the massive misleading info makes people sketchy about buying these.
I love that brushed aluminum finish. Yeah labeling polarity under the terminals makes life a real pain. My buddy smoked a lot of fuses on an Audiobahn amp because he couldn't see the symbols. The amp was mounted in the back of a Jeep with low visibility, luckily with new fuses and further inspection, the amp survived and bumped hard.
Could it be safe to say on average that the cheap amps you should just add another 0 to the fuse rating and expect less than that on certified wattage? I've seen that a lot on your dyno vids. Seems like the amperage draw stays fairly efficient on some of these cheapo amps except when they are doing dynamic.
Today's Soundstream is junk compared to back in the day. Before Sound Around, Ipsilon, DEI and other marketing companies bought many of the quality brands, you would pay about a $1.00 or more per RMS watt. Move to the high current amps and the price doubled easily.
I'm just remember my old Chinese Master always tell me to add another zero to everything so far so good (examples 1000+0 equal to 10,000) ahhhhhhhhh 🙊🙈🙉🐒🤬💰🔥😭😭😭😿
This amp is such a POS. I bought one and installed it .It powered q 13w7. it lasted 20 min at 1.5 ohm. Sound stream. Fixed it and when I got it back it lasted 10 minutes. Soundstresm warranty states yoi must get it installed professionally. The tech said my degree in electronic engineering and 30 years of car audio as my hobby wasn't enough. The aren't the soundsfream of back in the day when I could bring my D200 to Refondo Beach after I melted the fuse holder off of them cuz of the speakers I was running and they would fix them on an hoir.
Nothing is supporting the main PCBA of either amplifier. Where are the screws? Is double sided tape and the output devices supporting the whole PCB? Probably not even. Looks like the PCB slides into slots in the heatsink/chassis and that is it. Maybe a couple pieces of foam rubber on the backside to slow down board flex. Cheap. Just cheap. Don't care if the PCB is narrow.
This amp is such a pile of junk. Soundsteam will not willingly support it. Had to threaten them to fix it the first time. It lasted for 1 hour the first time. Second time 10 minutes.First time was ruming it at 3 ohm 1 jl 13w7. Second time 1.5 ohm 2 13w7s. It sounded good but but it is pooly made. The soundstream support and Customer service peple are rude and basically told me listening to customers issues is a waste of time. I will never buy a product from this company again. The soundstream that was located in redondo beach and made awesome bullet proof amps is gone.
I have been looking pretty hard at a couple of these bass rocker subs...
The Epsilon owned Soundstream has had a few amps recently do rated power. Their Rubicon or Rubicon Nano was tested here on UA-cam to do rated. When they brought back the Reference series for 1 year those did rated....but most of their other amps are like this...overrated. Just another case of if you know what you're buying, it isn't a horrible deal...just dishonest in their rating. 2k watts for $200 isn't a horrible price.
Would the soundtrack amp be better than the boss phantom 5600 Watt? They both lie about the numbers but I kinda like this amp. I'm powering 2 /12 inch 1ohm rockville punisher subs. This phantom amp doesn't seem to have the power to push these much kinda sad seeing how even rockvilles numbers are bs. These things hardly budge even when I've got it cranked. They get loud don't get me wrong but the subs are barely moving
NVX JAD 1200.1 also had an poweradapter just like that. @3:09
I have a jad1200. Awesome amp.
Honestly this amp is a great deal, 2000 watts for just 200$ is perfect. I just wish they would rate it more honestly instead of inflating numbers... These would sell perfectly at their rated power for the money. But, people are stupid too. They should do more research if they really want 10000 watts. They would quickly find out this is a joke. So, uneducated customers will just buy another inflated brand. This is just a way for soundstream to keep their heads above the water...
2k watts for 200$? That's a bargain, but I gotta wonder what kind of damping these cheap-ass amps actually have, compared to the higher end brands. Also, if you want to stop needing to frankenstein reducers all the time, just run a 0 gauge in to 4 gauge out distro block, and make the 4gauge run short. should have zero issues with current
That double volume knob....Could I open it up and run 2 separate speaker wires the run those cables directly into a crown 1502 amp?
My goal is to power two bass shakers but I want to individually control the intensity. Unless there is any better way I'm open to any ideas. ..Bass shakers are rated 300 watt rms.
You get what you pay for. Why would this amp cost $200 and yet an audio control 1500 watt mono amp is about $700. Everyone always looking for a deal. Just pay the price and get quality.
Can you Dyno a xenon 1200.1 pleaseeeee I wanna know just how under rated my amp is I currently got it running a stereo integrity ds4 18 in my 04 Silverado ext and I love it never had to change it up because of its flexibility on the ohm load
What's the difference between "certified" and "dynamic"? Obviously you are getting higher power out of the dynamic mode.
But I'm confused as to the real differences between the two.
I prefer my Rockford old school
CH Steele : but they turned to shit the same in the 90’s
Class D is not my cup of tea. If that floats your boat, go for it. My stand is simple, if it isn’t Class A or A/B, it isn’t for me. Clean and clear from the bottom to the top and no exceptions. Let the others have their’s. I am not in that group. To each their own!😁
I wish u would throw a couple of what ever subs with a brand new not refurbed Kicker Kx amp n put in ur car. N tell us how u hear the bass vs most amps or even that power amp with subs in car so we know how they compare sound wise. Ya u proved point time n time again bs watts. How does it sound on the notes most amps make sub just not sound right. In my e experience ro. Power and kick kx. Make them.notes sound good. Instead of sounding like sub is rippin or sum stupid sound i know thats frequencys but that what im after.
I want you to test and dynamic the new version Soundstream BXT1.10000D I want to know how much power it puts out in terms of watts and power draw in amps.
Soundstream is not the company they use to be. Bought a DVD deck from them recently and one channel is just not working. And it feels cheap(buttons and nobs)
These amps are junk they feature distortion which can damage expensive speakers the best amps on the market are Rockford Fosgate they cost more but you will hear the power they dont run hot and shut down i have the t 1500 watt power series amp and the birth sheet says 1836 watts so you get what you pay for
Not bad for $200 amp worth every penny
These things are garbage and do not last. Fried 3 over in 18 months before replacing with a MUCH smaller kenwood. Kenwood has been going strong for 3 years now.
The adapter works no different than reducers. Honestly a lot easier to place the wire in more secure using reducers. I use them myself as my amp only allow 4 guage.
Love the amp dump tests! I know amps are not cheep, but I’ve got a hifonics 2416.1 Brutus super class d amp and was wondering what it really put out. I’ve got 2 fosgate p3 12”s on it and it beats but I don’t want to blow them so I keep it about halfway gain. Could u do a dump on something like that?
half a spider means it's a spider creepin round the corner! Or it could mean half truth spider on the rankings... Or it was going to be a 10k amp until the spider got cut in half! poor legs
Good deal, 2000 Watts RMS, $200. Again just look at the fuses. The only thing that does not make sense is the rating on the box.
