these are my favourite 50/50 tyres for road and off road. when the roads are wet and greasey this time of year no 50/50 tyre has much grip on the wet tar. on dry tar you can push the ankee wilds very hard. the off road trails have have been very slick lately with all the leaves down even on enduro tyres. doing more off road i find the dunlop 908rr front and a mitchelin tracker on the rear. but the 908 front tyre on tar is twise as bad as the ankee on wet tar. have fun.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what to go for really, I liked the look and price of the Mitas. The Motoz also looked good but was hard to get. I feel like the Anakee wilds were a solid choice. As you say, no 50/50 tyre is going to have great grip in the wet and greasy roads. They were brand new as well to be fair, so I can't complain. I did get the impression that they would perform well on the tarmac on a dry, warm day. It is all a compromise, but I think these tyres are usable on the road (not too loud or dangerous) and perform well enough on the dirt.

I fiind it is easy to make it slip during hard breaking on the road, but somehow in the wet and at highway speeds it didn't seem to be bothered by traction issues.
This is on a KTM 1290 SAS

That's interesting. To be fair, they were brand new tyres, it was cold and damp, so not hugely surprising that the grip wasn't there on the asphalt I suppose. Never ridden a 1290 SAS, they look like a bit of a weapon 👍

Hi, what about pressure for theese ones, I found them much more wobbly than stock str at high speed with pressure by the book

Yeah I run slightly lower than standard pressures, but they do wobble at speed, I think it is just the nature of knobbly tires where the blockes squirm around. Sometimes you will see that on certain tires the knobs are linked together to give more rigidity (the Dunlop trailmax raids for example)

@@tankslapmoto9999 unfortunately that’s sounds like truth🥲 after stock rally str road performance of the bike is slightly reduced (but then very surprised what it can do off the pavement 👻)

That would have been completely unrideable with STRs mounted.

Yeah, I'd have probably washed the front and face planted at least a few times with the STR's 😀

@@tankslapmoto9999 yeah that would be great content for the views, just not for you!
I'm up in the air to replace the STRs with anakee wild or K60 rangers

Yes the dreaded face plant. I was tossing up whether to get crash bars. But with a new one of these it would be silly not to.
This is such a beautiful bike by yamaha so i’ll be trying to keep the factory look and sound.
You have also convinced me to keep the factory muffler.
      👍

@danbrown3103 cheers, I am sure that you will love the T7👍 I very nearly didn't bother with the crash bars, but for the sake of a couple kilos it seemed the sensible move.

Besides the obvious protection, the bars are awesome for getting pulled out of the mud by your mates, attaching ropes or just manoeuvring offroad in slanted roads or suboptimal positions👌🏻 and attaching small pouches and stuff. Also your riding is awesome! Impressed😁
