Rush: the gift that keeps giving.
Agreed! One of my favorite bands for 30 years and counting...
Rumor has it that listening to Hemispheres 8x slower makes the intellect grow twice as fast which significantly increases my chances of finishing this time machine before I croak. 🤙
Good to know - I should start peddling the therapeutic benefits of this video 😂
grainsofsandambientlands4226 lol definitely!
The video interpretation of the lyrics works very well -the march into Olympus at the 9 min mark and the imagery during the last 5 minutes with the thunderbolts crossing the sky as the Gods battle. And wrapped around all this is the journey to Cygnus X-1. Great video fitting for Rush’s epic masterpiece - nicely done!
Thanks for the comment! Yes, I aimed for a visual experience that reflects/expresses the images and themes of Peart's lyrics in the original song, and you've identified a few key moments here. Although this version is an ambient track in which all vocals and thus lyrics have been excised, I wanted to preserve the narrative thrust and essence of the lyrics in the video, which no doubt had an influence over the original music itself. Thanks again!
Very cool stuff! Brings back a lot of memories of high school when this album first came out. Hemispheres and Dark Side of The Moon were our favorites for smoking a bowl after school. I was listening to this and my brain was just waiting for Geddy to shriek, "When all at once the chaos ceased!" This was very enjoyable.
Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you like it! Hemispheres and Dark Side are also among my favorite albums and I'm glad this ambient track brought back those memories for you. When giving these tracks the ambient treatment, I try to preserve as much of the original essence of the song as possible, so although it's a different, more immersive ambient experience, it also allows the listener to connect to the original music in some way. Also, since you mentioned Dark Side, I've also done an ambient version of Pink Floyd's Time if you're interested. Thanks again for your comment!
Interestin take on this.. Yes very interesting..
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!
This is beyond awesome! Congrats!!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you like it!
This is pretty amazing 😁
Glad you like it and thanks for the comment! If you're interested in more ambient Rush (set to imagery from Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy) check out "Rush - Xanadu (12x Slowed - Ambient)" in the channel's video list. Thanks again!
What a wonderful interpretation!
Glad you like it and thanks for the comment!
This songs for a strange reason makes me remember of disney hercules movie, i dont know its just strange
Hmmm... Perhaps the connection is the battle of the gods sequence in the video featuring Poseidon and Zeus around the 16:30 minute mark?
@@grainsofsandambientlands4226 Nah i mean the song by itself , i cant explain it
@@hureak1456 Interesting... If the connection comes to you, let me know. I'm curious.
'promosm' 💘
I actually like it! I think you could have slowed it down even more, x16? did you try a few different speeds?
Glad you like it! Yes, I did toy with other speeds and it worked well at 8, 12, and 16x slower. Sometimes it's a struggle deciding on the speed on these slower tracks, and this one took a while before settling on 8x. But yes, 16x slower would have worked as well!
Just set YT playback to .5x
