- Kieran McKenna's Ipswich Town secured back to back promotions taking them from League One to the Premier League. However, with many people already doubting Ipswich Town, In today's video i explained why Ipswich Town will SHOCK the Premier League!

Great video. One thing you didn't mention about McKenna though was his in-game management.
He's like the anti-Southgate. So many times last season you'd see that the team were getting pushed back, or were having trouble breaking through, then McKenna would make a couple of tweaks and we'd come out with a win.
It's amazing as a fan, when you're 2-0 down after 50 minutes but still convinced you'll get at least a draw.
That won't happen this season. I don't think you understand how big a step up it is to the Prem. It's massive.

Town did struggle to keep a clean sheet last year but they did manage to get results picking up points even when they were going through 'bad' patches by getting draws instead of losing. Ipswich do tend to have an impact when they get promoted to the top level with the guidance of some great managers like Sir Alf Ramsey, Sir Bobby Robson, George Burley and hopefully now Kieran McKenna who has already been outstanding.
I am excited to see how some of the established players develop in the Premier League. Watch out for Leif Davis in particular.

@@philbraithwaite1316 Maybe he should have been considered for Euro 2024 despite not having played in the Premier League? It will be interesting to see if and how some of the established players develop at the top level.
@@franklinrwful A player without significant Prem experience will never be selected for a major competition.
If Davis does well this season, he'll be playing for a big club this time next year.

I agree The Premier League could get a shock again Like the last time Ipswich went up Teams like Coventry Boro West Brom Hull and yes even Norwich have quality players The Championship is a strong league And unless I have it wrong one of the biggest teams in the country Leeds United are still in it Not a rabbit league Look at Boros League Cup run and Coventry in the FA Cup

Enjoyed that Jacob, as an Ipswich fan I have belief we can stay up, think we need three crucial signings still, given the injuries as they are, striker, one more attacking mid, left sided preference (I'd have Sarmiento back, his tracking back was excellent and think he came on well, just was well under Omari's shadow) and yes, a solid defensive, core midfielder to go with Morsy, Luongo and Taylor.....great and balanced video man, can't wait for the season to start 👍👍💙💙
For the last two season a friend of mine was moaning when we been hitting the bad patches that we have blown it and all I just said to him was just have a bit of faith in the team. I seen how they play and I seen how McKenna have inspired players to play to another level and also never give up until the end of the game. He has taken players both young and old to another level and looking at how Omari when we first got him on loan from Chelsea to the end of last season, you could see how McKenna have changed him into an asset for town.
23 years ago Burley's mistake was to end up finishing 5th which at that time Town never had the squad size of other teams and hence relegated the following season.
I have a feeling McKenna 's aim is to survive and any place mid table is really a bonus. But we do not want to end up in places that gets us into European football as we do not have a big enough squad.

Our style of play has been Premier League ready for a while so we will fit right in and if the new players fit in well then it's only going to get better, we are going to challenge not sit and be happy Top 6 incoming

Love the fact Ipswich are flying the flag for young largely British talent The likes of not only Davis Burns and Chaplin at the club last season but now also Greaves Johnson Delap and the permanent signing of Hutchinson will give some clubs in the Premier who rely and pay big fees for overpriced average foreigners plenty th think about If perhaps Clarke or Chair arrive to further strengthen even better Always space for good overseas players at the right deal (Pukki at rivals Norwich the perfect example) but the base should be British Resembling a bit like Bobby Robson young side in the early seventies!

I think we’re about 3 or 4 signings short of getting over the line. If we can get someone decent on the left like Jack Clarke, a solid CM and possibly a right sided centre back, we can surprise a few. Also, could do with maybe one more striker! Still looking forward to taking on the big boys in the Prem even if we do get battered!

One helluva lot more. They need Prem experienced players. The new signings - except Johnson - have next to none. In fact, Johnson has more than the whole squad put together - and quite a lot of those as sub.
Yes, Ipswich will struggle next season, but I have the confidence that they'll just manage to stay up.
I think slighty naive to think a promoted team is going to make an impact. I'm a Forest fan, and every game from the first minute to the last is a nail biting ordeal. The only reason we've scraped through for the last two season's (apart from buying a squad) is our home form. Away fixtures you just hope for a draw, because an away win in the prem is a pipedream. Even with our squad, I'm going into this season expecting a season long fight near the bottom.

It'll be PL 2 L2 .....goal difference minus 8 or 9 to start with. Ipswich will need one point a game to stay up....that's 38. The equivalent of 10 wins and 8 draws....Against which teams?

@@jacksmorrow2724 think he could play that no.10 position quite well. However, he’s had one good season in his career. Would be a serious risk, especially for the price.

I hope they stay up but don't think they have the talent nor fitness to survive. The gap from the Championship to the Prem is the same as from the National to the Championship. They will probably hang on until half time and then collapse and lose. Ipswichs performance in the Championship is irrelavant to that required in the Prem. You will be up against the best teams in the world with highly expensive squads.
Fitness was one of Ipswich's strongest elements last season. Partly due to the way McKenna used the bench, we kept going full-bore to the end of added time. Often opponents couldn't handle that. Late goals got us points. As did coming back from losing positions.
People overstate the gap between the Champ and the Prem. If it were that huge, all promoted teams would be relegated every season with almost no points - and then go straight back up again. That doesn't happen. Only about six or eight teams in the Prem are that real elite level. You don't need to beat them to survive, just a sufficient number of the other dozen.
Fitness was why we scored so many late goals, we have brought in a ridiculous amount of coaching staff etc
Didn't Luton bridge the gap from the National to the Championship? And do better than either of the other promoted yoyos last season and almost stop up Take out the top five or six sides and the Premier League is average Ipswich will stop up And I think Southampton will too
