    I really like what you did here, however I am going to rig up a DIY Randall intake with a fine screen mesh so bugs and leaves etc, can't get in. Check out that set up its cool. Thank's for your time, sir.

    Before making an adjustment make sure to do a dyno run before and after. Some mods can do more harm than good. Theese kind of mods require to adjust the fueling to get the most out of them. Unfortunately with this stock ECU is not possible. The ECU has a closed loop fuel trim control that corrects the fueling about +-10% based on the O2 sensor. If this is not enough a remap is needed. Shortening the intake length will give you torque at higher rpm due to the resoance of the pressure waves.

      im not a race car driver nor do i want to build some sort of race car. i dont care for preformance stuff. this was just a cool fun little project. doesnt hurt the car no help. it was just for fun. i will be taking 0 initiative into anything you just said. people like you are the reason why i hate “race cars” and people who build track cars like that entire paragraph was cringe. like no one actually cares.

      @fvkaciv Don't be idiotic, it's useful information for anyone who's using your video intending to better their vehicle. He hasn't criticised you, he's made a valid point on how what YOU have done can POSSIBLY effect a car. Especially since you claim "it'll run just like oem" in your video, with clearly no proof. So grow up and stop acting like a child, you're making yourself sound extremely ignorant. 🙄

    If anyone is interested, Mishimoto sells a 90 degree silicone elbow with 2.75” ID on one end and 2.5” ID on the other if you don’t want to cut up your stock intake.

    • @fvkaciv
      @fvkaciv  5 місяців тому

      yeah you can get 90 degree elbows anywhere, point of this was to do it as cheap and oem as possible

      @@fvkaciv anybody living in CA wouldn’t do this since they need their stock intake for smog, so it’s good to mention

    Specter is owned by K&N, so they are of quality.. Just like the store brand. I think AEM is also owned by K&N

    The location of your filter is directly below the coolant reservoir overflow, so if the coolant gets out, it will contaminate your filter...

    • @fvkaciv
      @fvkaciv  7 місяців тому +2

      not bellow, on the side, like 5 minutes after install i had gotten an aftermarket coolant overflow amd relocated it.
      if you are a car enthusiast and are going out of your way to make this intake, relocating the coolant overflow shouldn’t be an issue

      @@fvkaciv I only noticed because my son bought a 1999 Miata and overflowing coolant (and the temp gauge) were the first indications the rad fan did not work (the plug was cracked at the fan and arcing - fixed now). We have 2.5 cold air intake kits from previous cars, and I'm trying to get some ideas of how to build one for Miata instead of paying $350 for another kit. Your video gave me a few ideas, but I think I will go with a heat shield and follow the original lay out, albeit I found out that for the most power gains the distance between the intake manifold and filter should be around 21inches for some reason, so your set up is perfect (and on the cool side of the engine.).

      @@fvkaciv Oh, and maybe you can make a vid on how you relocated the overflow bottle (and where did you get the aftermarket one.
