      I luv hit man career day. This is the first time I heard someone thought of a 'Hitman' as a good career choice. Anyway he didn't have any military training. Most hit men have been in the military and have combat training. That's how their able to avoid capture for years.

    I remember this case when it happened and watching parts of the trial on Court TV. One of the biggest takeaways I have is the testimony of Billy Flynn, the actual gunman; when he testified, he was wiping away his tears while Pamela Smart sat there, looking like she was anywhere but where she was. This was the first teacher-student scandal I watched unfold but in my mind not the biggest; that belongs to Mary Kay Letourneau. Thanks, Dr. Grande, for another interesting video!

I especially appreciate your bringing out the need for us all to acknowledge and accept responsibility for our guilt in our wrongdoings, especially in the case of convicted criminals who honestly desire parole or early release! Oh I'm glad you did this case it happened very close to where I live , always thought she was guilty and even though there's no excuse I felt bad for the 15 year old boy she manipulated into murder I'm not saying he shouldn't be punished but I definitely don't think he would ever kill if he never met her

    • @aarondavis8943
      @aarondavis8943 Рік тому +1

      You're looking at this like if he'd never met her, he'd be living in some kind of vacuum where there are no motivations and circumstances that might tempt him to kill. Reality isn't like that. There would always be some other circumstance where he might kill. He might have wound up killing a cheating spouse or a spouse who left him. He might have become a criminal (highly likely; he was already committing crimes before the murder) and killed as part of the criminal lifestyle. He might have become a burglar and killed in the process of a break in. He was, after all, a psychopath.
      He may not have killed without meeting her, but to say he *definitely* wouldn't kill is simply ridiculous with all we know about him.

    Hi Dr. Grande! Could you cover the Timothy Jones, Jr. case? I'm specifically interested in the claims made by the psychologist for the prosecution regarding Jones's MMPI results. From my understanding, she said that his results indicated that he was exaggerating his symptoms of psychosis, e.g. hallucinations, and that the symptoms he reported did not align with the symptoms of known cases of psychosis. I know that you have been critical of some aspects of the MMPI previously, and I'd be very interested to hear your analysis of what the clinician(s) said about his MMPI results, as well as Jones's mental health and personality characteristics. There was also debate in his case as to the significance of his traumatic brain injury, and whether he has schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, or a mood disorder combined with drug-induced psychosis.

    I never heard before that the boys threw the dog down the stairs and laughed when they heard it thumping on the steps. How cruel they were. Kill people, kick dogs. I'm glad they spent many years in prison not only for killing poor Greg Smart, but for being mean to a small dog. Assholes. And I totally agree with you, Pamela is not the test case for release.

    Great Analysis! Just a few other true crime cases that may be interesting to analysis. Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka (murder of two school girls and Karla's sister). Should Karla have been given a reduced sentence?
    2. Dr Mohammed Shamji (prominent neurosurgeon who murdered his physician wife after she served him w divorce papers). So many women are murdered after leaving their husband's. A question would be will an abusive spouse change or when to know when to leave. 3. Clifford Robert Olsen who murdered 11 children in Canada. Thank you for your valuable insight on these topics.

    I live in the area where this crime took place and followed the trial on TV back in the 90's. I thought the sentence that Pamela received was fair and appropriate for the crime and still feel that way. A week after Gregg was killed she was shopping for beach front condos on Hampton Beach. Her motive for killing her husband was $140K of life insurance and the total proceeds from selling their condo in Derry, NH. I'm glad she is still in jail and hope she stays there. Killing a spouse for financial gain is despicable. I worked in a flower shop and remember his father coming in to buy a large geranium the following Memorial Day. I think Pamela destroyed that family.

    I really enjoy your videos, Dr Grande. I'm wondering if you have heard about Myka and James Stauffer and the little boy they adopted from China? They knew he had developmental issues when they adopted him. Recently, they told their followers that they "rehomed" (her word) the ,title boy after he lived with them for a few years. Then, right after giving up the little boy, they went on a month long luxury vacation to Bali (yet they begged their followers to donate money for the little boy's therapy claiming insurance didn't cover it - and in that video she was wearing a $6000+ Cartier watch). Anyway, there is a lot of info going around about Myka and her questionable reasons for adopting in the first place. I think it would be interesting to hear your take on it.
