If I was honest, I’d give it a solid 9.5/10. The campaign was good, but they turned woods into an onion and made the access ability crap. The multiplayer was fine but it had very strong SBMM. Considering the development journey, it could've been worse. It has solid visuals and sound design. Strong voice acting too. I think the limited content is no different from what we are seeing with MW3 now. That in itself speaks to the need to stop the rushed development of COD titles. Might be time to stop the annual release schedule.

Cold War is literally like a 10 page essay you forgot about for a month then did it all in one night. MWIII had all the time it needed but still turned out to be lazy and repetitive.
Of course there would be tension between Raven and SHG. SHG hasn’t really been able to cook up anything original since AW which is why they were fighting with Raven as their support. Raven should get another shot with Treyarch as their support. On the other hand, SHG is tired of being Robin when they can be Batman.
The DMR is actually the M14 and it is a powerful weapon because the rifle fires 7.62mm NATO, Its also a successor of the WWII era M1 Garand and has the same knockdown power
I used to play CoD in their year, until WWII, last game that I played at the moment. Years later I managed to play BOCW in the beginning of S1, missing completely BO4 and MW19. While I played Warzone because of my cousin, I never enjoyed so I just left it. The thing with BOCW is that I felt like playing BO2, and that was amazing in my opinion. Yes, the game could've more content when it got released, and comparing it now, it has a good amount of content, but I still think the game is pretty fun to play, even after having a DAMN lot of crashes. I even went to get dark matter ultra and dark aether, it was worth it. I'd say it's my favorite CoD in the modern era (post-MW19).

We need a full out of universe cod game just based in vietnam. GIVE US COD VIETNAM. Not like vietnam missions just a full game of this stuff. Sort of like cod WWII but better and in vietnam
Hot take: Cold War had one of the best campaigns. I personally replayed it 5 times within the first week of release to complete the mastery challenge. My favorite mission was the embassy mission where you got to choose how you handled the mission. I liked zombies but with only 1 map, I quickly stopped grinding it and stopped playing. Multiplayer sucked.
I want to thank this game for being so bad that it saved me 70 USD at released and 70 again cause the year after was Vanguard. I can’t help but laugh at the Infinity Ward hate online when they are the ones making cod mainstream.
Cold War was that CoD where I felt “meh” but looking back at it, it released in a rock and a hard place when the next generation came out. They weren’t given the MW engine and it was a bog-standard CoD.
I like Cold War more than any CoD from the past 4-5 years. Campaign was great, multiplayer had its issues but is miles better than MW and Warzone imo, and the zombies was different but really fun.
I honestly think I judged Cold War too harshly when it came out. I finally, finally got into COD with MW 2019 since I didn’t have a 360 back in the day. And that game to me (with all the issues it has) is one of my favorite games of all time. Because of work from home, I have MONTHS of playtime in that game over the last 4 years on PS4/PS5 and PC. Cold War has worse movement than 19, but still better than MW II. The maps in CW have a good variety to them, even if about half are remakes. Which is understandable given the majority of the game was in production during lockdown. If making new maps at home is hard, might as well import the old ones people like with better graphics. The campaign was great too. Sure it was kinda short, but the setpieces were fun and the story is a bit of mind-melter in a good way. It’s definitely better than the mess that is MW III’s campaign. I don’t play zombies, but I know a lot of people did and enjoyed it a lot once there was more than 1 map. Would be nice if it supported mods like BO3, but oh well. The Warzone meta change was rough. They didn’t get a handle on things until season 5/6, which at that point, Vanguard’s then-upcoming release would screw it up again. But, it did give us the best Warzone map of all time in Rebirth Island. A map so popular that it’s basically being forced back into Warzone 2.0 later in 2024. All in all, kind of a rough game at launch, but still fun overall. Strangely while some people had issues, I think other than being kicked from some matches (possibly due to my crappy connection at the time), it worked relatively flawlessly for me on my PS5.
