    the problem with engraved cutting boards is the engraved area will hold food if used as a cutting board. these are best used as display pieces. but, if you put the drip channel on the other side as well, you can display the engraved area and use the other side for actual cutting.

    Very nice. I’m jealous. I’ve been saving up for the 80 watt laser just like yours. Currently I’ve been using the k40 for the last 2 years but it’s limited to small projects like coasters and key chains and man I have made a bunch of them. Thank you for your videos. Everyone just wants to do a box opening video of that laser and no one is really using it so it’s nice to see what it can do before I get it😊

      I was not a "creative" person when i purchased this machine. But wow, i have learned so much and it's amazing what you can actually do with this machine. I would definitely recommend this laser. But keep in mind, as i'm sure you know, its not a "out of the box" type machine. There is a learning curve, but definitely worth it. Happy Engraving :)

      We actually unassembled our machine in half to get through our door. It was easy to put back together.

    Hi there! Thank you for your wonderful videos. Because of you, I engraved my first walnut cutting board today! Would you mind sharing the name of the food-safe oil you use to finish your boards? Thank you again!

    What was the final engraving time? You said 20 min but most likely longer... how long?

    Hello Kendall, realy nice job, can i have an explain... i usually use 200/20 with my 60W, i notice you use more power, you do this just to have a deep engrave?

    • @kendallcreations6737
      @kendallcreations6737  2 роки тому +2

      Hello Giulio, for my own preference, I engrave with my settings because I like the deep engrave.
      I have done lower settings and personally it just didn’t look great to me.
      This is why I also tell my clients they have the option to engrave on front side or back side. I tell them if this is a cutting board they will be using, then I suggest the backside.
      Hope this helps :)

    How's that CW3000 chiller working out for you? Seems like if you do lots of long engravings it wouldn't be able to keep the water temp down.

    • @kendallcreations6737
      @kendallcreations6737  3 роки тому

      The CW-3000 works great for us, but it's good to note we have a home that conditions the temperature to ~20 degrees Celsius. The CW-3000 will keep the water to the current room temperature, so if you are in a non heat/cool conditioned space, and the temperature can raise up to 25 Degrees Celsius or more, you may want the 5000 model.
      Also, its good to note, we do some engravings that take upwards of 2 hours consistently, as well as long days where the laser is running > 12 hours, but with gaps in-between while we swap materials.

      Hi Bayram, this is an 80W Co2 Laser - commonly referred to as the Chinese Red/Black laser. I run a furniture import business, so i was easily able to connect to a chinese factory to import this, but i have noticed you can also search for these on Amazon and Ebay

    Was the laser already focussed from doing a previous cutting board?

    • @kendallcreations6737
      @kendallcreations6737  3 роки тому +2

      Hey Marc, Yes, we use a 17mm spacer under the top of the nosel to get the best focus - But this is not the same for all lasers, you need to do a ramp test to see what your optimal distance is.

    My friend is getting a cutting board made out of walnut (I think) - I do know it’s all one piece and it’s not bamboo. The guy making this will use oil and wax when done, My question to you is - Can I laser engrave it still even though he put oil and wax on it? What would happen? Would it burn bad? Or do I just re-apply the oil and wax over the engraving?

    • @kendallcreations6737
      @kendallcreations6737  2 роки тому

      Hello, I have not done this as I would assume it would be flammable. Could your friend have this maker not use any oil or wax? Then you could engrave and put oil on it yourself?

      @@kendallcreations6737 You are welcome. You clearly know what you are doing. I just can’t help but notice that when I see it. I was wasting so much oil by rubbing mine in with micro fiber towels to begin with. So I was wasting towels and oil.
