Please note while I do my best, mistakes sometimes happen, but the intent and fun of the game remains intact. My main goal is to show and highlight the basics of game play. Thanks for showing a play through with the suggested increased difficulty. Your play matches my own experience, of completely decimating the AI, and I venture that this would have been the case even if you added the Dark Lord Attacks rule. That is why I had to come up with my own way of increasing the difficulty further as well as trying the solo variant listed on BGG.
@Functional Kali Yep, this one went pretty good for me too. Still haven't had the opportunity for a multi-player game. How have you multi-player games gone?
@@DaletheCasualGamer This game really shines in multi player. I think that the issue with solo is with the second harvest phase. It becomes too easy to accumulate tons of resources - particularly by buying citizens that will immediately produce goods in the second harvest.
I would like to see you play the co-op campaign in solo mode, as that would make a great series of videos. It would be really interesting to see whether you can beat the challenges and bosses!
Nice to see the increased difficulty. That looks more my thing than easiest. A few more interesting choices to be made

Watching the distribution curve of the probability of two dice grow on a table, oddly satisfying. I really liked seeing the powah of more than +10 magic points unleashed but that sliding counter card has got to go. I knew a cabbie who could shortchange himself too. What does the final VP tally mean? You’re 40 points more…?*

@JJE McManus The state of PA has pictures of me on the interstate. They took the picture without my consent, but apparently it was over the limit. Gotta be careful on the turnpike!!
@@DaletheCasualGamer Your state has my storage additions for MC. Hiding from the snow in lovely Breinigsville. Town motto, “Well, that escalated quickly”. Cough it up.
After my first 2 plays on easy mode, my second game was like 127 points for me VS 17 points for the AI.... After seing your video, seems to me that something is broken in how you count the points for the AI, it seems difficult to lose..... Next time, I'll try to also count points for the Dark Lord card with the remain citizens in the stack.
Yep, trying the additional items to up the difficulty might be needed. :)

@@jgboutilier7560 I haven't played the hardest solo variant, but really enjoyed the Darksworn campaign which is solo or coop. Even went well with my game group. Did I mention I now own everything for this game! lol
It's definitely not a heavy game, but it hits the right spot for me. Right now it's $25 at miniature market for the 2E core game ... so pretty low cost to try it out. Hope that helps, and happy gaming!
@@DaletheCasualGamer Thanks Dale. Same here, $30CAN. But, I'm not looking to get into Darksworn (which I know adds to the challenge). Really just looking at the standard game and add-ons. Might just have to get a shot.
