Congrats on 300K subs, Mr. O! In all honesty, it should be a million, given the quality of your vids.
The way things SHOULD be, are the way the things NEVER are. Channels like C-SPAN can be very informative about what's going on in the world, but garners little attention. On the other hand a fictional show about drug dealers on BET will be a smash hit. The same is true about UA-cam. An informative channel such as South Main Auto will never have the viewers as a fictional/comedy channel, such as Scotty.
68Camaro RS/SA: you speak the truth!!
John Davis: absolutely!! And channels like Pine Hollow Auto Diagnostics, where Ivan does everything from cooking borscht, to home HVAC repair, to rebuilding sensitive equipment for the local optometrist office, can't seem to catch on!! Perhaps he should also start delivering Big Macs and Whoppers, and then he would be famous!
im one of the subscribers
@@roadkill5333 I deliver big mac's and whoppers and even baconators.. and other things... and I'm still not famous :(
Sad story about a stick being the anti-theft. I lived near Miami and a gearhead that owned a mid-90's Cobra (all came with stick only) was killed in an attempted carjacking by some punks as they filled up at a gas station. He and his girlfriend were killed because they wanted his car. They couldn't drive away because they didn't check that it was a stick.
“Can’t mess it up because one hole is bigger than the other”...needs to be a T-shirt
They're both the same size when I'm done with'em.
@@Gruntsworth Yeah, the bigger one's now smaller.... o.O
I can't help but think Eric O's setting himself up for a parody like this... ua-cam.com/video/jCUgu19PNUQ/v-deo.html

Thats what she said... but!
The other day I went into Naper (not a sponsor) to buy the doings for oil changes on both of my vehicles. They now carry Fluid Film. I picked up a can, but had to restrain myself from making the sheep sound.
Brian Burns, your new to fluid film? You will love it! (Not a sponsor, but they should be)
I’ve seen the good results that Eric has been having, and it could prevent some grief in future repairs.
You might want to consider walmart (definitely not a sponsor) for the oil change doings, much cheaper than the napper, no fluid film though
Joe Milton Walmart is all the way across town. Naper (not a sponsor) is right down the road. The time savings makes up for the few extra bucks.
All this lubing up holes and rubbers in this video, you should have a sponsor from Trojan and KY.
Dave Topp I wonder if that lube/jelly would work for caliper slide pins... it’s supposed to be rubber safe.
@@FishFind3000 Its also water soluble
(i am aware this was a joke but far be it from me to not throw in some facts) lol
instead he got one from CRC lol
I can see the commercials now. "..... Always wrap your tool, and never put it in dry. Remember. If I can do it, you can do it."
"Millennial anti-theft device.. Standard transmission" , nearly lost my coffee!
Diesel on the trunk lid also works.
I laughed and laughed at that.
Well... I think that's wrong at least where I live...
@@zoneb609 same where i live 😁
Zone B even truck driving schools are using automatic, idiots can't shift.
I understand that Trojan is going to be a new sponsor.
I watch every video for your personality. Doesn't matter what job. You make learning how to do this stuff interesting for me. You've helped me through many depressing nights, thank you.
i would watch SMA change the brake pads on a 10 speed bike.
I watched all the old videos and it’s amazing how quickly you became so good at making quality videos. I’d much rather watch you do work than me do the work.
I'm just here for the brake jobs
BYOB without any hardware - bogus. You did a killer job as always. Thanks Dr. O! You've come a long way from when I started watching you at 10k subs. Congrats!!
After having done 3 brake jobs and 2 sets of ball joints this morning on SMA it's time for some lunch!
Schmoo lol. You and AVE seem to be good friends.
Love the vids!!
it's the new shmoo....heheh....the incredible new shmoo
For some reason while watching this I got the urge to see AvE doing brake jobs in Avoca while Eric is fabricobbling things in a garage in an un-disclosed location. I'd settle for a team-up video.
Eric, Ivan, Keith, Steve and AvE all diagnosing cars in Staten Island together. 🤔🤯
P.S. Congratulations on 300k subscribers. 🥳👍
I bet there are 300k car owners that wish your shop was just down the road. I do and enjoy your work and videos.
Eric, thanks for another fine video. Never get tired of watching you work..hehe. And a big congrats on 300,000 subs!!
Been here ever since you did a review on the Astro light. I hung around because you and Mrs. O made me laugh. Learned a lot since then. Thanks Mr.O
Best rainy Sunday morning shows to watch ever. Please never stop making videos. You and your wife are amazing.
No matter how many brake jobs I've watched you do, I still learn some tricks from you (sorry, Memaw) Finally a supplier has recognized your need for Brake Clean!
I've come along for another brake job 👍
They say you can't teach experience, but Mr O and memaw have taught me a thing or two.
Memaw was one smart lady, she outsmarts and teaches us all often..
I'm watching, I'm sure others are/too lol
300 K subscribers. Well done Team SMA.
Brake jobs are epic, choice of four to choose from.
Air tools need lubrication.
Thanks for sharing and best regards from the UK.
It's a pleasure to watch someone who Really" knows how to do a brake job, and actually covers All" the important' little things! Thanks!
First off congrats on 300k! Second is I love watching your brake jobs as someone else said, “every car is different.” Scotty K has a lot of subs, almost as much hot air if not more. I always love coming home from work and seeing a new SMA video waiting. Keep up the great work and if you weren’t so far from Iowa, you’d have another customer. One that knows spending a few extra dollars on parts could save you twice as much in labor and is almost always safer too.
Your Memaw is one smart lady! I'm going to use her tips on my next brake job.
Ahh SMA, come for the mechanic expertise, stay for the commentary. Another great video, thanks Eric!!
I found this channel just a few days ago and now am at the point that I wait until you have made me laugh before I click the like button. You haven't let me down yet. Thanks for the content and the entertainment.
You use a lot of the tools I use I love your channel you do real good work I've learned a lot in my home garage
Oh yeah
Congrats on the 300000 subs. Who would of known. Really enjoy you and your brother in the Wrecker vids. Make more.
Good video Eric O. Never get tired of your video's even brake jobs i appreciate your video's Eric .
Love the brake videos. Always oddly satisfying. Learned that rotor turning in the rust belt is a thing of the past.
You really go above and beyond, great job Eric O.
Your vids are my inspiration. I just replaced the wife's front rotors and pads today using your secret memaw techniques. Keep up the good work.
Turn the rubber inside out and clean it. Priceless. Keep up the great work Eric. Can't wait for the next one.
It's true. As many as you want to put on the tube I'll watch. Even after doing several of them during the day myself 👍thanks for taking the time to film this. This is my break time before I start a rebuild on a 5r55 trans going in a mountaineer. Thank you mr O sir ✅
I just did the same basic brake job on a 97 Saturn SL1. Same boot configuration. Your videos are great. Coming to you from Las Vegas Nevada
300K subs, a testament to how much we love your channel. I say 400K before the year's out.
Take care to you and your family.
Great video!!!! I like all your videos, you have never made a bad one! Keep up the good work.
Always such a pleasure watching your shows it teaches me alot
Smashed the like button within the first thirty seconds, not dissing the brake jobs but the recent tractor/mower video was my highlight of the month. Mix it up for the folks I say. Keep up the good work....
I'll watch every break job, and maybe someday I'll feel encouraged to go out my driveway and do it myself on my 2005 Escape.
Congrats Eric On 300k you are catching up to This Old Tony. Keep up the good videos. You have subs and views that’s a big plus.
Eric is in rare form!!!! Love it, never too many brake jobs!!!!!
G'Day, Mr. O! Great video! I applied for a job as a weatherman, but my knowledge of meteorology was a little cloudy. But, very kindly, thanks to you! (Mr.O) You've really given the know-how and numerous tips to help solve common braking issues on today’s vehicles. In these videos, Mr. O. has shown some great advice and tips that he's been using. Hopefully, whether you’re a driver, do-it-yourselfer, or technician, your steps and tips helped me make the right decisions when it comes to addressing brake repairs on whatever vehicle I'm working on.
Cheers! 😊🛠✌🏼❤️
I’d watch any brake job because each car is a little different then the other.
I like watching someone else besides "myself" suffer and fight with the rusted junk :))
We miss you SMA must be a busy week there at SMA was looking for my afternoon Zen session with a new video from you... went back to the archive though all good wishing you the best
Keep those brake job videos coming. I watch them all
watching every brake job you ever do totally agreed your videos are amazing up next the SMA movie series
Just finished the SMA Miata UA-cam marathon (clutch, suspension, now brakes). I've done everything but the clutch on my own '91, down to taking the whole dash out to replace the heater core. Suspension was a lot of work on the ground, but I'm in CO and it's not rusty. (How on earth do you deal with all of that all the time?) But that clutch? Oh, hell no. Glad I had that done. Congratulations on tackling that without picking up the little car and tossing it across the bay.
Your vids are always great. I've done video on some of my work, but getting lighting right and not ruining my camera equipment with filthy hands keeps me from ever achieving your level of quality. Plus, I end up swearing so much that I'd spend hours just editing the audio!
Fun seeing my car represented and providing challenges to someone else, too! I don't know how you keep that sense of humor, but it makes all of this very interesting as well as entertaining. (Must be - as I said, I just watched 5 or more hours on all the Miata stuff.)
Keep up the good work!
My vote, bring on the brake jobs. Congratulations on 300,000 subs. Your videos are the highest quality out there. Enjoy your family too.
The Vise Grip tip was priceless...I have chased pads and "sworn" at the anti-drag springs before. Thanks.
BOINGGGGGGGGGG or is that "SPROINGGGGGG" either way it's always followed by cussing and retrieving parts from the floor or across garage....
WOOHOO 300K Congratz!
Big congrats on the 300k! Many more, Eric.
Oh man, I'm so happy I watched this video! My Fusions brakes are just like this one (with the spring clips) and I definitely need the vice grip trick! Thanks, Mr. O! They'll make my next brake job way easier!!n
300K! Congrats Eric. Love your channel.
Eric you are more thorough with every brake job than 99% of mechanics, your customers are lucky to have you. I usually don't replace the hardware if the original hardware is still reusable. Even though they appear to be stainless steel, most hardware kits that are included with brake pad sets rust terribly within 2 yrs in salt states.
Another front brake done.Keep up the good work
Best UA-cam mechanic of all time! I also like the legacy gt you parked the Miata next to.
I remember years ago, maybe 30, I used to do brake jobs without changing anything but the pads or shoes because I didn't have any money. Fortunately I was was pretty lucky and it all worked with proper cleaning and lubing just like you did. Now days I replace all the hardware, usually the rotors, and occasionally the calipers. Also in the old days I sometimes had to fix a caliper that would get stuck at a certain point of travel with a set of hones and a little crocus cloth, fortunately that also worked.
Hi there really enjoy watching your videos and the work you do is excellent keep it up!!
Good work as usual on rusty brake hardware. I like CRC Brake Cleaner- works great.
Another sweet video. Thanks Mr. O. I think I am beginning to know my way around Avoca...
After watching the quality of your work for several months now, Eric, I can't imagine taking my car to anyone else. And what the heck, NC ain't that far from Avoca, NY. ;-) Love your sound effects by the way. Great video again.
Best mechanic on UA-cam.
300k congrats Eric well deserved
Brake Clean...Look at the pressure coming out of that can! It's just like...blasting all the way, and that's what we love about it.
Congrats on 300k & the sponsor from CRC!!!! I don’t mind the brake jobs at all bother keep up the good work!!!
You tube needs video on replace A/C compressor on 2006 Kia Optima 4cyl. Oh now I am gonna buy CRC brake cleaner for my shop!! Thanks CRC for supporting Eric and Family!!
1:48 Every tool & brake pad has a hammer side. I'm changing pads and disc on a 2001 VW Polo today. Love a good brake job
Videos are just as informative and entertaining no matter where the camera is mounted (IMO)
Love the channel from one fellow mechanic to another thank you for the knowledge
We love the brake clean because when you first started the videos for at least the first year you went crazy with the stuff LOL
Thanks for the great tip. I haven’t had one of these in my shop. Definitely will save me some time.
A C clamp lightly applied also works to hold the pads when there's anti-drag clips involved. Those 11R Vise-Grips are definitely faster but I figure it's always good to have options. I've even used the big spring loaded quick grip clamps with the rubber padded jaws. 😎
Been doing my own brakes for years. After watching a couple of your brake videos, turns out I've been doing a half-assed job.
Glad to see that 94 still on the road in your area. Those cars are a good candidate for a 302 transplant.
Eric if you take the time to make a video I will watch. Love the knowledge you provide. God bless.
2nd gen Honda CRVs have the same double spring on the brake pads. Figured out the wide vice grip technique on my own after launching several pads. Definitely an R rated video .. very enjoyable. As for new vs old hardware, on one occasion with 'good' pads from Advanced Auto, the 'new' hardware was badly stamped out and didn't fit. Cleaned up the old stuff which worked fine for years.
Great job, never gets old. Get rid of the tri-pod...I prefer the cart vibration now and then...😉
Thanks for the video.
I love My break jobs. Will watch them twice.
Love brake jobs and you kill me with the high speed toots
Thank goodness Eric! I was starting to get the shakes.... Can’t watch enough break videos!
Love the brake sound effect
Thanks for the brake video Eric, congrats on breaking 300K in subscribers.🤸
Every brake job you do I learn something new. Turn the rubber inside out to clean it 👍👍👍👍👍
Haha ha
lol, I use a nylon bristle brush and spray, but have turned some/larger inside out before :)
Favorite car and favorite UA-camr!
Should have seen me replacing the r/f wheel bearing hub on my wife’s 05 Buick LaCrosse. Thanks to the chemicals used on roads here in CT the axle was rusted into the hub. Heat, lube, pullers, big nasty or 25 ton press was not taking it apart. Removed spindle and drove out the wheel studs and clamped the flange in the vise. Once clamped I beat the axle shaft out using a 16 pound sledgehammer. 33 years in the field and I never had one this bad. Looking forward to doing the driver side next😂
Mike MacCracken I grew up in upstate NY and currently reside in CT. I have an 02 Chevy Silverado. Bought in new and has only 45k on the clock. The body is excellent, however, the Titanic has less corrosion than the underside of the truck!!
Thanks mr. Oh I love the sound and the way you use the cookie wheel with love GS
The green Brakleen cans are non chlorinated. Chrysler recommends it for cleaning their specially coated throttle bodies in one of their TSB's. It is highly flammable and melts plastic. It did a great job on the throttle body of my 07 Jeep GC. It also melted some plastic trim under the hood I used as a work bench while working on the throttle body with a toothbrush.
o wow congrats on 300k subscribers! well done and well deserved!
Eric O I'm watching. I just finished watching Mike the disgruntled Mechanic doing a brake job on his truck so let us let the fun begin. Like I said I watch all of them Artie ❤️️❤️️
Damn, Eric. You're good. Thanks.
I’ve watched all your videos; you do mention like this that other side is “worse” or that the other is worse. You do say, and explain what or how worse the other side is...and show the complete job from time to time. I’m looking forward to a brakes job that would include a line flush...and of course an update for us DIY on your “sandblasting.
Great video. I own a 1994 Miata. I liked your brake hint using the vice grips. I’ll use that truck in my 2006 F-150. That anti-theft Millennial security device comment was a riot. My wife and I thought that was funny. Keep those brakes jobs a coming!
300k subscribers! Congrats!
Great job again like always
Someone is getting ready for summer! 👍☺️ I wish I could give you an extra like for calling it an MX5! 😂
yea at least all of us will know how to do brakes on just about anything a truly invaluable skill👍
That welding clamp vice grip trick is pretty slick!
