The setting reminds me of "The Banner saga"- world, combined with the battle-mechanics of "Mage & Monsters" in a grand strategy game. Interesting mix for sure. Gonna put this on my watch-list.
Good call-out on the trend of Card-Based UI for games with no card mechanics. It's an interesting UI design choice to avoid boring static text, I guess. I dont know how I feel about it, for some reason it breaks my immersion more than a simple text box.
Songs of conquest, Songs of silence, Silence of the siren... I don't know why all HoMM spiritual successors are all about singing or the absence thereof. This one looks gorgeous but I don't know about the whole autobattler side
The demo was 'okay'. I was hoping it would do more w/ city management (esp. since their blurb says 'kingdom management'). It also needed 'more' stuff, in general. I'll be keeping it in my wishlist, but I'll wait for reviews after it launches. I think whether or not I'll get it will depend on how they make the campaign, and how they tackle the world map (e.g., will each map be like a mission/scenario you have to 'clear' to get to the next part? Or will it be one, large continuous map? Will it be linear or will you have choices? etc.)
Yes, that was my take. The art is great, but from how the game is advertised I was expecting more management and not what is basically "HoMM, but you need heroes to build stuff"
2:29 - Thank you for the early info, I was just about to close the tab right there! I don't think this game is for me, but what an amazingly beautiful art-style O_o
Saw some preview of this and it looks interesting, the art style is also really on point, everything from the unit portraits to the cutscenes are done really well.
The art looks incredible - I hope the music will also match it! Though personally, as a huge fan of deck builders, I do wish it did more of that what with the cards and all. :)
Thanks for checking out the game. It already looks a lot different from the demo I've played and even after that demo I was already looking forward to this title. We need more heroes of might and magic games 😢
I played the hell out of the skirmish mode and loved it. I'm going to buy it, and I'm curious just how many more hours of enjoyment I'll actually get out of it.
I just took a sneak peek on steam and while the artstyle is instantly gorgeous and pops out immediately, the gameplay seems rather intriguing also. Shame it's gonna be out in early access and not the real thing.
its planned that early access only lasts about 5 months until full release. And judging off the beta and seeing how fleshed out this already is, its safe to say this wont be one of the titles being in early access forever and never coming to a full release.
Usually don't like card games but this one has my attention, looks nice and the gameplay seems nice, the card mechanic might also help the AI which tends to have problems in strategy games
Looks pretty awesome… I don’t generally like many RTSs these days, but the aesthetic reminds me a bit of Moebius and I’m a sucker for Moebius style of artwork. I’ll wait for a review of this one.
How can people create such a beautiful game like this and not give it a proper RTS gameplay that has proven itself successful and would attract a much wider audience...
Whats your opinion on Early Access games Mort? I usually skip them and wait for the full release As for the game, it looks gorgeous, but I dont dig the card/deck UI element
Think this would get more traction by ditching the card ascetic. It may not be a deck builder, but that's what it looks like, and plenty won't look deep enough to figure that out and just move on.
Looks interesting but been burned by Kickstarter too many times even on projects that get to their goal. Still waiting for a few to release 10yrs later. Well more like listening to excuses 10yrs later.
Hei, I know you mainly review RPGs, but please, please give a chance to "Outer Wilds", it's the best experience I've ever had with a videogame and a life changer. Also its DLC it's just a pure atomic bomb, maybe even better than base game. Both are masterpieces that changed many people's lives, and they should get as much recognition as possible, because the developers deserve it. Sorry for the out of context comment, but if you haven't played base game + DLC already, you are missing one hell of experience (for me... And not only me, it's the best game ever to be created, It leaves you with something very deep inside your heart and head)
Don't know that I'm particularly interested in this one, but what an aesthetic.
Probably because of the aesthetics lol
Yeah, not a fan of the game mechanics, but I’m considering playing it for the art style alone.
@@Kosomaddo I'm going to watch a ton of let's plays in the background at the very least!
Alphonse Mucha and art deco in general
Indeed, the mechanics are so mobile looking..., but I will still play it ,looks interesting

Banner Saga was incredible.
Strooooong Banner Saga inspiration for the setting and world, no doubt.
Probably because this is the same developer as "The Banner Saga"

This one is the Simon & Garfunkel spinoff.
Don't forget Spear Song 😂
The aesthetic is just amazing, I wish more games were so daring in that aspect.
I really like what they are going for, wishlisted for sure! Also commenting to feed the algorithm demons
This game looks gorgeous. Been following this project since day one and I cannot wait for the full release.
Same
Absolutely gorgeous game, been looking forward to this. I hope it holds up mechanically as well.
Artwork reminds me of P. Craig Russell's work. The demo for this was fun; instant wishlist.

Thanks for the video. Like others have said, that art style is next level. Onward to 400k. All glory to the algorithm.
I am grateful and subscribed to this channel because of these lovely pearls recommendations. Keep going!

I hope one can increases the font size. It's looks a bit smaller for us glasses-wearers ^_^
Looks quite interesting. Thanks
Reminds me of the Golden Art Nouveau, Aquarian and Ethereal Visions art deco Tarot packs......

Looks great. I'm not to sure about the setting, but I love the artstyle and the battle system seems interesting

Interesting, I might check out the demo
Didnt know you also do 4x/strategy games
Pretty rare occurrence
Love the art style
Watching videos out of interest for a game
John Dyer Baizley & Alphonse Mucha would be proud of the art in this game
Big update dropped yesterday! lots of great improvements
I am quite intrigued!
❤
Cheers.
Wait the starborn you say? Hmmm. Pretty amazing art though.
Not a strategy games' player myself,
but the visual style is really beautiful, that's for sure.
Thanks for your videos!
Can you do a check out video on the up and coming game flint treasure of oblivion please? I want to hear your take on it
Visually is stunning. As an illustrator it's a joy for the eye to behold.
Banner Saga feelings anyone? I will have to play it!

I dont mind them, but they definitely come with a bit of risk like Unforetold Witchstone being unceremoniously dropped for instance.
Wow that art style is really good.

Hello darkness my old friend
Gronk!
Good show sir
👍🏾👍🏾💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💪🏾💪🏾
love the artstyle although did not enjoy the demo

Misread this as Songs of Conquest and got confused
first comment's freeeeee!!!!
Grats
Is it really too much to ask for another Heroes of Might and Magic?
Not my cup of tea.
Onto the next video, plenty left to catch up
IT sure looks pretty but not my cup of tea really......
