I'm a bit concerned because my sister's GP has prescribed her Gliclazide 60mg (modified release), one tablet in the morning. But she is also taking Metformin 1000mg twice a day (morning & evening). Do many diabetics take both metformin and glicazide together? I am worried about her risk for hypoglycaemia using both of these medicines.

No. Never take before bed. If your bloods drop to low, you might not wake up. Use during the day unless you're a night worker.
