Yessssss ! Nice substitutions for the “traditional” ingredients. ❤️ it Me,my husband & two kids went vegan 6 months ago. Girl I didn’t know when was the next time I’ll be able to eat my puertorican food since everything is meat based .
Alexis desde Maryland USA I’m just amazed at the fact that you had enough time on your hands to correct my grammar. Wow lol did you get off on that ? Did that make you feel better to correct someone ? Your comment was unnecessary. Goodbye 👋🏻
I'm so glad I found a veggie recipe for this. My mama is Colombian and she makes her version all the time. It's meant to be stormy in the next few days where I'm at so I'm gonna fix some up for my familia to fend off the cold. Gracias chica!

OMG! I am soooo happy to have found your channel! Just went vegan (again), and this time I'm determined to veganize my faves. Being Puerto Rican, you can be sure this is one of them!
Any sancocho without corn is still a sancocho. Corn was maybe our favorite vegetable as children, but not always we could have it. TODAY anything with corn says "Monsanto". I still have some hopes, but they have invaded everywhere. Sorry I must say it.
I know you stated that "a sancocho without corn is not sancocho" but you are not preparing sancocho because sancocho without ñame, malanga, platanos verdes, guineos verdes, and yautia, is not a sancocho. Also, carrots and cabbage are not part of a real Puertorrican sancocho. Maybe the Americanized way of making it but. I don't know what you call what you are making but is not sancocho.
Alexis desde Maryland USA actually there is no right or wrong way to make sancocho. Different countries and lineages make it in their own way, this is the way I grew up eating it. However your entitled to your own opinion. Thanks for the view 😉
It's not pumpkin...please do not use pumpkin because you will not get the flavor you're supposed to get out out of stew. Instead you want to use Kabocha squash which is what she is using. Cabbage in Sancocho? No way...Cabbage is not used in Sancocho...this not traditional Sancocho this is the vegan (yuck yuck) style

What can I use in place of the calabazza?
You could just add more of the other veggies (carrots, plantain, yuca etc.) and omit it. 👍🏽
