For the pan to not flop over like that, slide the tab on the handle all the way towards the pan. That will “lock” the handle in place.

To prevent the pan from folding in on the handle, all you need to do is slide the metal strap on the handle up towards the pan. It prevents the handle from collapsing in on itself. Love your videos!

Not many kids can afford their own used car, let alone buy someone else a new one.
For the curtains make 3 panels the size of the windows. Use Velcro to keep them up. Use Velcro for the middle window as well. You can take it off when needed.
I can't tell you in words how proud i am of mav buying his mom a car i've been here since he had 95k subs, i hope we can see you grow even more mav :]
Mav, I did a similar setup on my F150 in 2013 and have it still when i go camping etc. What I did was bought some black fabric from Walmart, measured it out and using the screws on top of the window in the topper I placed black curtains, on the bottom I added a long wooden dowel, and tie wrapped it on the fabric so I can roll it up when i want to, and roll it down for privacy, did the same for back window also!
I added some AGM batteries and a 50watt solar panel on the topper roof to supply power for a 12volt heater, fans, charge phones or watch movies, and I bought a 12 volt crock pot to make canned ChiliMac while I laid down.
Lastly I also bought a cell signal booster that is mounted in my back seat and one antenna is on roof ( receiver ) and the boost antenna is on my back window so I can stream while crashing the back. I made a wooden frame for the bed and bought a 6 foot folding mattress added storage bins that push in under the bed frame.
EDIT: Also on that pan that keeps popping the handle out, you're supposed to slide that steel ferring up to prevent the handle from squeezing together which loosens it.
To cover your back windows and not your vent: Get window covers that cover the whole window ( screen included ), cut slits upward along the seam of the cover ( leave roughly half an inch to an inch ) on either side. Next just velcro along the edge of the window and edge of the screen, add a tab of velcro on top to keep the screen cut portion up when you need.
Mav you are truly a natural at this, I can see that it has a lot of work but everyone watching really appreciates it. It is a real learning experience. You are a true talent

How nice to buy your mom a car! Congrats on the new merch line. Glad you’re back in the white truck. For curtains you could buy some black out curtains and run rods top and bottom of the windows. Cut the blackout curtains into three panels for each side and that way you could leave the solid ones covered and the screen part open. Just make the top and bottom hems to loop the rods. That’s what we did in our teardrop and in our “tramper”.
For the curtains in your truck, they sell plastic curtain tracks at Camping World for shower curtains. You can use a window curtain with it as well. The track attaches to the ceiling and it has wheels with clips that hang down(where you would attach the curtain). That way you can move it out of the way, as needed

i remember my first car. mom fooled me into thinking i needed to test drive it ( cuz i was learning to be a mechanic at the time) when i got back she was standing in the driveway and was like so howd it drive and so on. and then she told me its actually mine and they had it dropped off while i was at school. one day im going to do the same for her. cuz shes awesome

IMO Mav is the best travel/ fishing/ adventure UA-camr on this platform. All his videos are high quality and he still pushes out great content despite having a lot of subs. Some youtubers content goes down hill once they reach a certain goal but Mav is always elevating his game. Gotta love it!

you could do 2 pieces of fabric for each window. you can have the screens uncovered for ventilation and still have the rest of the windows covered by the curtains. :)

Hey! the metal tab at the end of the pan handle slides in to lock it so the handle doesn't collapse. :D otherwise you get a mess when you put anything heavy in it. Been there, found out the hard way!

I’ll be honest I cried when I started watching this and saw that you bought your Mom a car. At one point not too long ago I was in a position to where I was wanting to, and planning on buying my parents a new car too. Circumstances changed unexpectedly and those plans were put on hold…and then in September my Mom passed away before I was able to do so. One of the regrets I will always have is not being able to see the happiness and pride in her face when she knew that her son had achieved a certain level of success such that I could do something so generous, nice and loving. Happy that you were able to experience that; maybe one day I will be able to make it happen for my Dad and this circle will be completed, time will tell.

Congrats my man. Our parents really do deserve the best. I’m 30 now and I wish mine were more close to me. I’m sure they’re just tired of life is all though. The outer west looks epic. Love the fuzzy inner layers. Would love to cop a pair of the pants because I currently only own two pairs of pants. The single dad life is a struggle but we still livin. Wouldn’t change it. I can always wash my pants. Really makes me think about the things my mother sacrificed just so I could smile; and that’s literally what it’s all about man. Love.

You should do a full length curtain for the windows, and just make two cuts where your vents are, sew in some velcro so you can just lift that section when needed!
Idea for curtains: One curtain rod either side with two curtains each, so you can open in the middle for ventilation. You just four need curtains half the length of your windows.
