You remind me of an exchange student from Germany I hosted. Before returning home he told me he was going to backpack around the world - and he did. His parents, grand parents and I helped him in his journey but he did the vast majority of it on his own. I got him a GoPro which he used and stored all of his photos on my cloud. Hey Mav, long time viewer from just outside Toronto. If you’re in the area you’ve gotta check out the Centennial ridge hike in Algonquin park, it’s a 3-4 hour hike with some amazing views
Totally get your point. Algonquin is a few hours from Toronto. I guess living out west has really changed the distances I consider a far drive. People in Northern BC consider a three hour drive "just down the road." I used to drive four hours each way to go to Costco. I know guys in eastern Alberta that would drive 8 hours to BC every weekend in the winter to go sledding.
Thanks Mav for the update on the new vlog, it's raining in Canada. Your solo lifestyle is amazing. I imagine that it has impacted many millennials, because it is something very different and every day is a new and different challenge on wheels. I love it even though I passed from being millennials a long time ago. I have a fixed RV on the beach. Blessings lone ranger.👍🤟
No kidding, was at a huge shopping mall yesterday and passed a couple probably 13 yr old girls on the stairs, I heard one of them say "I want to go on a bunch of camping trips this summer". I immediately thought of the influence all these camping youtubers are having.
I miss the videos with you and Hannah. It was really fun to see two good friends camping and going on different adventures. Ever think of doing some more videos with the two of you?
Anyone ever have German potato salad? My mom made it for special occasions in the summer, usually for picnics. Her’s was FANTASTIC! When you showed your dish- that’s what it reminded me of. I need to find a good German potato salad recipe and make it in honor of my mom this July. If anyone has a really tasty German potato salad recipe, post below. Please- bless you and thank you! 😘
I'd love to see you do a video going into how the rest of your truck is setup, like the back seats, roof rack etc. Also would love to hear more about what the lifestyle is like. How do you eat on a daily not just on adventures, more what it's like on the day to day non adventure days and just other thoughts and opinions on what your doing.
That's it! I'm making poutine for dinner tonight! There nowhere in my area to get it. I'd have to drive farther up North in Washington to find a place that sells it. But that's not a bad idea either. Thanks for the inspiration Mav!
Once you're in Montreal, I recommend stopping for a Poutine at either "Ma Poule Mouillée" or "La Banquise" both are across the street from eachother and are pretty iconic places for some of the best poutine in MTL. My brother lives there and recommended those two for you to try! Enjoy if you do stop!
I've been to Montreal a few times, but the only poutine place my friends and I went to was La Belle Province. Still had solid poutine and breakfast there, though.
Love the knives you have in your vids now man. Living here in Japan for a few years I've found myself spending an excessive amount on unique locally made knives and I love them.
Hey Mav. Welcome to the “Soo” !! It was cool to see you in our town! Been a subscriber for quite a while now and always enjoy your videos. Keep on truckin’! 👍 🛻 Beau travail mon ami 😃
Perfect setup now in the van…Rainy Sunday you would have got totally soaked cooking with your old setup, though it was fun watching you cook on your boot door in a blizzard…those were the days aye.. I like the recipe, I’m gonna try a version of that. Many Thanks Mav.
Welcome to Canada Mav. There are much better places to eat than Tims. That poutine looked stellar. Where did you end up eating? When you get to Ontario there are so many great places to eat, Southampton, is a beautiful place for a beach, or any where a long Lake Huron. Enjoy your travels, stay safe! Yes we do love our gravy. Lololol
There must be different types of goulash. I grew up with it. I live in Canada. Made with ground beef, diced tomatoes, corn,, onion, peas, elbow macaroni and spices. It's very good.
I just got out of a long distance relationship that went on for over a year, we were deeply in love, everything was going fine. We stuck by each other through everything, I was always there for her. I won’t get into too much but I guess things got too overwhelming and stressful for the both of us, we’re both 18 and need to focus on ourselves, careers and university. Long story short we broke up and it’s been extremely hard cause I thought she was the one. We talked about marriage and everything, and though we are 660km apart, she’s the closest person I’ve ever been to❤️ we stopped talking for good about a month ago. I’ve been watching Mav for about a year now but recently watching him has a different purpose, it isn’t just cause they’re entertaining and I enjoy his videos, it’s because it’s really helping me through this breakup and it helps me forget for a few minutes that the best girl I’ll ever have is gone and it helps me forget I’m all alone. So thank you so much Maverick, you’ll never know how much of an impact you have on your viewers. Your videos can change lives, you’re really helping me man. Much love from Australia
Hang in there! Breakups are hard but we learn something from all relationships and we grow from it. Keep on Truckin’ - you’re true love will appear when you least expect it 💗
*What I Wish I knew when I was Younger* .. people will always come & go in your life .. very few relationships last forever .. the good & the bad are all part of your journey .. enjoy the good ones and learn from the bad ones .. because some will only last mins, hrs, or days, while others will last yrs .. But each one will help you grow as an individual .. *Your Heart and Soul will Mend* 💋
It looks like a good trip so far for you Mav. That University in the Sault is awesome my friend graduated from their. I loved the town and campus when we went up on family weekends. You have a safe trip and keep on truckin.
Been watching your vids for a while now bro! Keep it up! It’s very immersive and innovative the way you do this whole truck camping stuff! Great content!
I'm french Canadian and I never heard of Canadian gulash ahah looks good though! Reminds me of "poor mans meal", we love to pepare it once in a while. You should try it sometime, it's really cheap, easy to make and it really taste like home cuisine to us. Like comfort food. We like to pimp it with asparagus or other vegetables like brocoli and peppers. Anyway, hope you have a nice trip in Canada!! ✌️
Hey Mav, I guess you may or may not do recipe requests a lot but if you’re up for nice warm meal on another rainy day that might take some time you could make Chicken and Sausage Gumbo/Jambalaya: Ingredients include: Chicken, sausage preferably andouille, onions, celery, bell peppers, garlic, beef stock, all purpose flour, and rice and whatever spice you like to taste (Cajun seasoning) plus bay leaves just like 1 or 2, 1. Make a Roo with the stock and the flour and you want to keep stirring until you get golden brown gravvy like substance. 2. Then you want to put in your vegetables that you cut up but not the garlic, mix that around make sure it’s cooked 3. You can set that stuff aside in a bowl or something of some kind since you’re not in a full kitchen and cook your meat with the garlic put in 4. Get your roo, put it back on the stove, add some beef stock let it come to a simmer then put in the meat, and stir that every 10-20 minutes and let it simmer for 3 hours. cook the rice and serve it over top of that and you have yourself a nice meal Hope you can perhaps make this sometime and lmk how it goes, I love the videos keep it up and making the food is plus on the satisfaction asmr scale, Stay Classy - The panda from Virginia
If you spoke French, oh my lord! You would be everyone’s dream boat, even us old enough to be your mama or Gma. LoL love the video, thanks again for taking us a long. Question-I know your windows are to tinted but can ppl see in at night still with lights on? Much love from Iowa..🦋🤪☮️❤️
Gulas' is the national dish of Hungary. The "Chili Mac" that is a Mid-Western USA misnomer-ed as Goulash is an insult to that country. It can be any whole meat served with potato or dumplings... not pasta and ketchup sauce. A minimal requirement is a bunch of paprika
Hey Mav, loving the video series so far. I know that there will be many more epic ones to come our way for sure. Just wondering if in one of your upcoming videos if you could tell us the provinces where you plan on visiting. That way maybe some of your subscribers could put you on the trail to some awesome Canadian adventures that you may not know about. All you would need to do is do some research and see if those locations peak your interest or not. I don't mean going where everyone tells you to go for safety reasons that is. Lota of awesome sites and things to do down here in Nova Scotia. I am sure you wouldn't be disappointed if you come this way for sure. Take care and stay safe and warm out there. :-)
@@rexplays6077 Hey there Rex Plays, how are things going with you today????? It seems like you took a dose of ignorance pills today. I know that he is in Ontario during this video but he said in this video as well as his last one that he was going down to Eastern Canada to visit. Just wondering if you know your Canadian geography or not? Because if you did then you would be fully aware that Quebec is not located in Eastern Canada but in Central Canada. So my question to Mav is valid as I asked him where in ATLANTIC CANADA he was travelling to? Looks like "Every Canadian would know this" but I guess you must have skipped that class in school when they where teaching Canadian geography. Oh yeah I live in Atlantic Canada and not in the Central part...LMAO !!!!!!!

Gulasch is a pretty German dish too. And contains beef chunks with vegetables in thick sauce with tagliatelle.
Mav you are an inspiration. I enjoy our vicarious adventures!
hes a very smart man eh!

I dig your channel mav. Almost every time you cook something I want to try it. Thank you adding the ingredients on screen.
If you're interested ..
*mrapsch1* .. posted the recipe in the comments
The University of Minnesota has a great Rec Center. You look like a college student. Love the Cooking with Mav segments, always makes me hungry.
Absolutely love your videos ! Keep crushing it mav.
Love the channel and welcome to Canada!! By the way, Its pronounced "Sue" not the way it looks (Sault) lol
I'm from Canada 🇨🇦 and came for this comment 😊
Safe travels Mav !!
April/May in the Maritime Provinces, the rain will never end !
I miss the videos with you and Hannah. It was really fun to see two good friends camping and going on different adventures. Ever think of doing some more videos with the two of you?
Sue Ste Marie 👍👊
Anyone ever have German potato salad?
My mom made it for special occasions in the summer, usually for picnics.
Her’s was FANTASTIC! When you showed your dish- that’s what it reminded me of.
I need to find a good German potato salad recipe and make it in honor of my mom this July. If anyone has a really tasty German potato salad recipe, post below. Please- bless you and thank you!
😘
Depends which kind you mean. I'm german and where i'm from we make potato salad with mayo, but in other parts of Germany they make it differently.
All the time. My Mom made it for picnics, etc. too.
great video as always mav! just a heads up, it's pronounced "Soo" or "Sue" not salt. keep up the great work!
😆
I was actually going to comment the same thing lol
Stab to this Michigander’s heart.
@@pamelam1500 Yeah that it is, lol 😆
With the amount of salt on the roads during the winter, I’d say it suits
your videos make me happy and calm and relaxed. Your videos help distract me from my depression:)
Love you Mav keep up the grind ❤️
Ive been there on my trip from Toronto. They are really iconic for Montreal food and taste really good. Swartz is also a good one for sandwiches
I've been to Montreal a few times, but the only poutine place my friends and I went to was La Belle Province. Still had solid poutine and breakfast there, though.
@@principlay874 thats also a good one for sure!
Getting them GAINZZZZ 💪🏼
Love the knives you have in your vids now man. Living here in Japan for a few years I've found myself spending an excessive amount on unique locally made knives and I love them.
Keep up the good work mav! Love your videos!
Hey Mav. Welcome to the “Soo” !! It was cool to see you in our town! Been a subscriber for quite a while now and always enjoy your videos. Keep on truckin’! 👍 🛻 Beau travail mon ami 😃
Having goulash for dinner tonight myself, shout-out to you Maverick
That preworkout burger and poutine looked next level
Post* pre would be before. It really did look good!
Yoooo Mav that girl was feeling u my boy!! 😂😂 Great video Brodie 🤞
Perfect setup now in the van…Rainy Sunday you would have got totally soaked cooking with your old setup, though it was fun watching you cook on your boot door in a blizzard…those were the days aye.. I like the recipe, I’m gonna try a version of that. Many Thanks Mav.
Always always love the meals you make! Do you have a catalog of what you’ve cooked and the recipes you’ve used anywhere?
Welcome to Canada Mav. There are much better places to eat than Tims. That poutine looked stellar. Where did you end up eating? When you get to Ontario there are so many great places to eat, Southampton, is a beautiful place for a beach, or any where a long Lake Huron. Enjoy your travels, stay safe! Yes we do love our gravy. Lololol
There must be different types of goulash. I grew up with it. I live in Canada.
Made with ground beef, diced tomatoes, corn,, onion, peas, elbow macaroni and spices.
It's very good.
Same but no corn and peas lol
Similar but no corn and peas and usually a tomato sauce of some kind. What he made is not goulash to me….I’m from the Maritimes.
Sounds like what I grew up on
Lord send someone like Mav my way AMEN 🙏🏽
you are not wasting your life a bit mav..this is life you are leading
Mav you make my day with your videos, keep on trucking man from the UK 🇬🇧
Thank you for the support! I’ll get through this and keep on truckin❤️🩹 :) what an amazing fan base
Love the sound of rain, must be so cosy to fall asleep to it
I love these. Makes me wanna get a truck to do a setup! Love what your doing @Mav
who thinks mav should bring live streams back?
I'm french Canadian and I never heard of Canadian gulash ahah looks good though! Reminds me of "poor mans meal", we love to pepare it once in a while. You should try it sometime, it's really cheap, easy to make and it really taste like home cuisine to us. Like comfort food. We like to pimp it with asparagus or other vegetables like brocoli and peppers. Anyway, hope you have a nice trip in Canada!! ✌️
Enfinnnnn un québécois sur cte chaîne la

Hey Mav, I guess you may or may not do recipe requests a lot but if you’re up for nice warm meal on another rainy day that might take some time you could make Chicken and Sausage Gumbo/Jambalaya:
Ingredients include:
Chicken, sausage preferably andouille, onions, celery, bell peppers, garlic, beef stock, all purpose flour, and rice and whatever spice you like to taste (Cajun seasoning) plus bay leaves just like 1 or 2,
1. Make a Roo with the stock and the flour and you want to keep stirring until you get golden brown gravvy like substance.
2. Then you want to put in your vegetables that you cut up but not the garlic, mix that around make sure it’s cooked
3. You can set that stuff aside in a bowl or something of some kind since you’re not in a full kitchen and cook your meat with the garlic put in
4. Get your roo, put it back on the stove, add some beef stock let it come to a simmer then put in the meat, and stir that every 10-20 minutes and let it simmer for 3 hours. cook the rice and serve it over top of that and you have yourself a nice meal
Hope you can perhaps make this sometime and lmk how it goes, I love the videos keep it up and making the food is plus on the satisfaction asmr scale,
Stay Classy - The panda from Virginia
Buddy he’s in Ontario and he’s going to Quebec then going back to the states every Canadian would know that lmao
Oh yeah I live in Atlantic Canada and not in the Central part...LMAO !!!!!!!
hello fellow Maritimer!! Good to see a Scotian on here. I'm from PEI but live in BC now. Happy to see Mav has fans all over Canada!
@@joshuacurley417 Right back at ya my Maritime friend. Hoping that Mav does make down this way during his travels here in Canada.
@@tombulger I hope so, too! I'm coming home for the first-time in five years and I'm really excited. It would be even cooler if Mav was down East!
Looking forward to this series...your going to have a blast in Canada...can't beat the hospitality of the maritimes, the East coast of Canada is underated compared to the west
This. He’s going to fit right in. Welcoming outgoing bunch.
Mav you gotta try Canadian a&w it’s unreal. Get the mozza combo with a glass mug coke.
Hey Mav, have you thought of installing a small exhaust fan for when you are cooking?
I was thinking the same thing. I love cooked peppers, but boy my noggin can't tolerate the scent they give off while cooking. Gives me a Migraine before I can complete dinner. Weird Right 🤔
fart fan lol
Welcome to Canada Mav. Couple tips:
- most Canadians don’t like Tim’s
- French Canada is a Province to the east
- hit up a local grocer for better sausage than Sniders
- hit me up when you pass through Niagara :)
Idk what Canada you live in where most ppl dont like Tim's
