@@thom-lov Yeah I'm excited for next year with the launch of their new flagship. Hopefully Volvo can show some new/updated safety features. The German competitors have closed the gap Volvo had on safety. So Volvo needs to set a new benchmark.
@@volvo_kristian absolutely! I’m trusting Volvo they will, just like the XC90, surprise us once again next year. Fingers crossed, and until then we can enjoy your XC40 EV adventures too! 😉👊🏻
I was pondering between X1 and XC40. All of your videos regarding XC40 are helped me out a lot. As a big BMW fan, first time ever in my life I’m gonna drive Volvo. Appreciated your effort, thank you :)
I’ve had my XC40 Recharge Pure Electric Ultimate for 3 months and it is so good to drive. Highway speeds, multi lanes, speed alerts, anti collision system. You would really have to be driving it deliberately stupidly like an idiot to have a crash. I’m still learning what it is capable of, but after 3 months, it is the epitome of EV’s.
Hi had my new xc40 redesign pro 2.0 it’s an amazing car to drive quiet smooth fuel economy good love your videos I think it’s important that we can see the functions off any car working in real time so we understand them better as we use them👍
This video is amazing! Looking forward to it coming in and with the newfound knowledge you have given me. Keep doing what you are doing, and stay genuine😁
Just bought a 2023 xc40 B3 dark plus in Fjord Blue, thanks for the Video, very informative. Mine doesn’t have BLIS , apparently ran out of microchips when built? , but had 360 camera fitted as alternative. I like this feature. BLIS would only be useful to me on dual carriageways/ motorways which we don’t have where I live in the Cumbrian countryside.
Thanks for this very informative. Had my 2021 Audi A3 Vorsprung sportback written off a couple of weeks back. Doing 30mph on a straight road when I got T-boned at a junction by a SUV driver. Even though the Audi had all the safety features as here plus heads up display, which is surprisingly useful the car was wrecked. Am looking at Volvo XC40, the SIPS of Volvo's second to none.
In the iihs the xc40 scored acceptable on the updated side crash test and marginal in the car structure (with the 2021 model being tested) do you know any news if they've already fixed that issue or if by 2024 it will be solved
Hi there Thom 😁, enjoying your videos 👍👍How does lane assist work in road works, you know where there are different coloured road markings on the road !?
Hi Mar, thanks for the compliment 😄 If you use pilot assist it will basically stop where you need to take over yourself. The aid will notice some that you drive over lanes and the steer will vibrate a little and sometimes try to steer back into the lane which is correct according to the car, and then stop after a couple of seconds as you more or less overrule the system. Most times the car kind of understands but sometimes it’s stubborn and will try to steer you back. Colors of lines don’t really matter as far as I am aware. cheers!
You might want to mention that the traffic sign feature will only change the speed limit icon in the display when the car scans a new speed limit sign. So if you turn on a road with a lower speed limit the system will not indicate the reduced speed limit until it scans the road sign.
I am big fan of Volvo because very cars I want move to Sweden got my dream job to be car crash test engineer at Volvo cars safely centre I want help save life I want own 9 Volvo’s xc40 pure electric and XC60 and v90 and XC90 and v90 cross country in white D4 or D5 if and C40 pure electric someone hit my Volvo very sad and upset and they my proud and enjoy I work hard
Awesome video Thom 👍 Safety are super important for me, so I love Volvo's dedication to make safe cars
Much appreciated Kristián! 😄 I can’t wait for what’s to come regarding autonomous driving from Sweden. Can’t have enough safety in our cars! 👍🏻🇸🇪

Thom, another informative video about the excellent safety features of our car 🤡 Dankjewel
Thanks Hub! Doing my best 😄👍🏻
I like that car cutting off feature
@EMMKMP
Is there a way to update my VOLVO's XC40 T3 MY2020 from cruise control to adaptive cruise control?
Perhaps check with your dealership but thinking about the hardware required I’m not sure!

Good one Darryl!
Tapping 'down here' is a hassle? :) It takes 1 second.
Thank you for the video.
The seatbelt suddenly tightened very tight on its own, while I was stationary, waiting to turn across traffic. Is that supposed to happen
Possibly the car anticipated for a rear collision (a car approaching you fast from the rear?)
Great review very practical and informative Thank you.
Thanks Andrew! Happy to help. :-)
Do u find the 40 easy to drive
very much!
Surprised you liked this manual. Other journalists didn’t care for it at all.
Thank you ….just put money down/ordered it … might take 4-6 months !!
Awesome! The wait is long at this moment due to semi conductor shortages, sadly.. ☹️
