This is the best E-Bike video I have watched by far. Very informative, easy to listen to, no annoying accompanying music, just information presented in a logical learning sequence. It has been a pleasure to listen to this. Thank you.
Nice job. Just a suggestion. Lithium batteries should only be stored around 50%. If you are not going to use the bike for more then a few weeks make sure to store at lower state of charges. They will last for years if you do that. Leaving at full and very low state of charges is very hard on lithium batteries and will make them degrade much faster. I’m sure you already know that as I believe you have lifepo4 batteries in your trailer, just thought I would leave for others if they read comments.
They will also last longer if you only charge them to 80%. Search for Luna Chargers. I have been using one for my ebike for the past two years and they fantastic. You can charge 80,90,100 percent at 1-5 amps. Really helps for a quick charge the times you need it.
Yes seems lots folks are not educated on lithium battery care..on another note, phones, I see so many people that leave their iPhone charging all day, they say oh Apple says you can do that..I got news..that you can't keep ur phone charging all day, it will degrade ur battery I've seen it first hand many times off course Apple wants u degrade ur battery, more money sooner for them,
Yes have a Luna charger set at 80% with wall timer stop everything at set time and extra battery if want longer ride . Storage in toolbox covered with zip pages of silica sand . With smoke alarm on security system . That might be overkill for LectricXP battery but feel safer .
I’ve watched so many of these E-Bike videos-I’ve learned the basics but they all fell short in the “how is it to operate?” department. But your video nailed that topic beautifully. Why am I not surprised? Thanks as always.
This was the perfect video for me. As a senior who just purchased two Lectric e-bikes without knowing anything about them, I learned so much from this video. I'm hoping that my wife and I can start out with electric only mode and the progress through the various pedal assist modes to get back in shape.
I am a Stroke Surviver. My right (stroke) foot prevents me from driving yet. A month ago, I purchased my XP2 StepTru. I love it! I am no longer House Bound ! I can ride to the market, barber and gym without fear of not having the energy to get home safely. I even have a pet trailer so I can take my Lulu to the Park. Kudos to Vito for this EXCELLENT video. THE BEST Lectric XP2 video I have found. A must view for older riders on a budget.
Just started looking at e-bikes and I found your review so well structured, informative and easy to watch. I am EU based, so probably have to settle for something similar. BTW, for anyone interested, there is an exact science to adjusting a saddle (not for children). Place the bike next to a wall or fence. When you sit on the bike with a peddle arm dead vertical, the peddle in the middle of your foot, your leg should be dead straight. When you ride with the balls of your feet on the peddles, you will have the optimum bend in your knees and the maximum efficiency from your leg muscles. Also reduces the chances of knee damage if the saddle is too low. I was over 50 when I learned this. Made an amazing difference.
My husband and I just purchased 2 of the step thru bikes. We both are older ( 65 and 73) so we feel that with the pedal assist and all the convenience of the bike ,we will be able to venture out and enjoy the outdoors more. We enjoyed your video and will be referring to it often. We can't wait to get our bikes.
I really appreciate your review of these bikes. You review saves all of us viewers from the need to figure out that a meaningful difference between the standard and step-through is the pedal height. Not important to many, but very meaningful to some ! This seems like a great travel, eBike.
Brian, I just want to say you really do a great job with All your videos. Your videography and editing is on par with the very best on UA-cam. You should be proud. In regards to this video, we were looking at a used lectric and after watching this video we went out and bought it. It’s fantastic. Watching your video made me know what to look for when test riding and it helped tremendously. I’ve been watching you on RV’s for years. Keep up the outstanding work. Your a real help to all. Very respectfully. Glenn
We have had a Lectric XP for about a year and a half, they are great bikes and an amazing value. We bought a Lectric around the same time my parents bought a Sondors, theirs was almost twice the price and had fewer options.
Hi Tito, I've been studying these Lectric eBikes for awhile. Thank you for showing a few features I haven't seen other reviewers show; The pedal height between the 2 models is important and will sway my decision on with model to buy. Showing how the battery is removed/installed is also useful to know plus knowing the 2 bikes take proprietary batteries is a critical bit of information. Your thoroughness is greatly appreciated. Really Great review. My only comment is you REALY do need both mirrors. Ride in the city much and you'll find many jerks will come up on your blind/RH side and try to get around you at intersections and anywhere there is a right turn. People, you can't "Cheap Out" when it comes to saving your life!! Keep your head on a swivel and the rubber on the road. 1/2 million miles on 2 wheels gives you that kind of intel. I've never been a fan of mounting a front basket on a bike, since it will throw off the handling if too much weight is in it, but with the Lectric frame mounted basket, other than the odd illusion that the basket doesn't move when turning the front wheel, that design will not affect the handling at all. Brilliant idea , Lectric!! Kudo's to "Lectric " the company. Virtually NO Other eBike, that comes to your door in a crate, has local ie US support, let alone parts and/or service availability or support. If you live in the West, I bet you could take a road trip to Phoenix, (well, except for the now 3-2022 $6+/gal gas!!) get a tour of the factory and pick up your new eBike right from the source. Lectric, in my mind, is the Go To eBike to buy. I don't have one yet. I ride 4 Currie eZip/iZip/Schwinn eBikes I've restored and upgraded (to Li-ion) but I think I just have to get a Lectric XP 2.0 as well. cheers Boots Langley La Mesa, Ca
Thanks for the great feedback. I'm glad the video was helpful. I agree that having someone to call or a visit is very important. We were in the Phoenix area and visited their HQ recently. Cheers.
Thx for showing the difference between the step-thru & standard model. The step-thru gives up some ground clearance, but doesn't it also give you more leg extension for the same seat height (i.e more efficient pedaling)? I really like the idea of full leg extension AND being able to reach the ground while seated.
Been thinking about getting an E-bike myself lately but most of the reviews on YT fall short or just feels like people are promoting things, you guys did a superb job in explaining things very thoroughly while keeping my attention (not easy lol!). You seem like very nice and enjoyable folks to watch, thank you for a wonderful video review of this E-bike!!! All the best to you both
This is one of the best niche hobby videos I've ever seen. I bought a lectric with your link before I was even halfway through watching it. Everything is well explained and didnt leave me with any questions. Thank you for doing it!
We're brand new E-bikers. We just bought the same two Lectric XP 2.0 models you and your wife have! Your overview was extremely well done and most helpful - thanks very much!
I'm 76 and I love mine. Mine is a different brand but very similar in form, features and function. I use power assist one and that plus gearing I'm very comfortable in the hills. I turn the power assist off for about half the ride and I get about 50 miles between charges. I have a crew cab pickup and can carry folded behind the front seat or a rack behind my trailer. I forgot to add that I recently started switching to Lithium and your videos on the subject have provided inspiration and guidance. Look foward to mods on the Winnebago.
This was a very thorough run down of the bike and how to operate it. I really appreciate the time you invested and it gave me everything I needed to know to finally decide this was the bike for me. It also answer another question I had, specifically what other differences there were between the standard XP and the step through. Thank you! Will be using your link to purchase.
@@Mia-kf2ie I became interested in them after I started seeing them pop up on UA-cam. I'd been wanting to get back into bike riding but was worried that between being out of shape and now 10 years older it might be too difficult. The great thing about the ebike is you can adjust the assistance level to meet your needs. I love mine.
First off, Melissa did a great job with her review. It’s nice to see that’s she is as good as you with the on camera stuff. This whole episode was great! I have watched a lot of you tube reviews on these e-bikes and yours is the most comprehensive and thought out. I was especially impressed with your 30 mile ride and crossing those narrow bridges!
Thanks!! Yes. I enjoyed having Melissa's perspective on this one. I'm glad you made it all the way through. BTW I was really booking it across that bridge :)
@@RVwithTito *The narrow bridge really got my attention too! I had to show the wife when you headed across there! Brave man!!! Thanks for a great review!
This is the most informative video I saw ! IT enlightened me being a 68 years old woman ,riding an E bike for Three years now. I am Carmelita Ladrillo Lazaro from the Philippines.
My wife and I have talked about getting an electric bike and we are very new to these bikes. Your video was a tremendous help in deciding if we want to go ahead and get a couple. Very informative and very well done with many, if not all of our questions answered. Thanks so much!!
This is one of the best ebike reviews I've ever seen! We've been considering the Lectric but wondering if they're too big for storage in the tow vehicle or trailer. The rolling totes an interesting idea. They're heavy bikes, aren't they? But we also appreciate the smaller 3" tires. Thank you for discussing accessories too -- think we'll do rear racks! 🙂
Thanks so much. Glad you like the video. Yes. They are a little difficult to handle at 60+ lbs. The cargo pack comes with both front and rear baskets. The mounting points for both baskets work on either front or rear. So you can mount the front basket on the rear of the second bike.
@@RVwithTito thank you for the advice--good to know that baskets can work either end. My husband and I will probably split a basket kit. Also, I think you're first person to demonstrate reprogramming for 28mph! Cheers!
@@Bustedicu you are spot on. It’s so pathetic that so many Americans are so gullible and without any level of mechanical ability , discernment, and lack basic manufacturing understanding to realize they are looking at a very bad and cheap POS on 2 wheels where so many corners are being cut to reach a price point this low in a hyper inflationary period the likes we have not seen for over 40 years. Americans are just too short sighted, blow their money mostly on crap, and end up robbing Peter to Pay paul after their dumb decisions to fall for videos like this and low end products that will cost them way more in the long run.
Your explanation of the E-bike was the best I have seen. I've been looking at this Eectric XL 2.0 and we just got back from a 30 day vacation and wish I had the E-Bike with me. We are not full timers and don't want to be. We are 75 years old and have been camping for over 50 years. Thanks again for explaining the Lectric bike to me and others. Larry & Anita
Glad you enjoyed it. We've always traveled with our regular bikes, but have found ourselves using them less and less. With these, we find that we want to go out more often. They're a lot of fun.
As with your RV lithium battery, these will last longer if kept at ~50% charge or at least not at 100%. You can always top them up just before you plan to use them.
After watching this video and the following video about the xp lite, I bought the Xp lite bike. Before I let anyone ride my bike, I make them watch this video! It has excellent information that any rider needs to know.
Thank you for writing an outstanding review . I just got done watching more than two dozen videos about Lectric bicycles from the reviews section of their website . Yours was the most comprehensive question answering video I could find . You explain how the controllers work in regards to PAS and how to change it from two to three . In addition you gave some practical suggestions about storing it in my RV, and what kinds of terrain you're using the bicycles on .Thank you for making a great video I'm going to subscribe to your channel because I think your comprehensive. In addition I've decided I'm going to be buying two Lectric bikes today with certain accessories . Happy biking and happy RVing to you . Thank you sincerely from Derek and Elizabeth
I agree that this is the best e-bike video that I have seen also that Tito has delivered even the Minor Details so explicitly Tito brings out the joy of riding this particular bike and even stopping to take a small lunch break your demonstration produces a person of great integrity
I watched reviews B4 I bought my 1st generation Lectric a couple years back. None of them holds a candle to yours for detail and truely putting the bike through its paces. Thanks for the depth and usefulness of your work here and in general. I put over 1000 miles on my Lectric B4 I sold it. It was a little cumbersome for my style of RVing, but It was always a fun ride.
so far, this is the most accurate and friendly review that i have watched. good job sir and mom. i just subscribe from your channel. i am a filipino living here in canada and i can fully understand you because you speaks a little slower as compared to others which im having difficulty understand them. im gonna buy one, the problem is they asking much on the deivery fee, which is 200.
Perhaps some additional suggestions/information: - After unboxing the XP, make sure to check the tightness of all bolts and hardware and torque them to the specs listed in the manual. If you don't have the tools, your local bike shop can do the job; - Our XP came with a bent derailleur guard (common shipping issue) which prevented up-shifting beyond gear 3, so I wrapped a piece of rubber around the guard and straightened it with a longer handled adjustable wrench; - Our brake pads needed to be aligned with the rotors to prevent drag and brake noise...easily done with an ball-tipped allen wrench and some patience. Frankly, if I didn't have the tools or the inclination, I'd definitely spend the $80 to have my local bike shop check and adjust everything. It's good the start a relationship with a local shop in case you need anything down the road. For involved warranty work, Lectric will sometimes reimburse a local shop instead of having you send the bike back to AZ. To acclimate yourself to the geometry of the bike and to make the adjustments necessary for a good fit, I suggest you remove the battery and ride the bike for a few miles without power. Practice making u-turns...always with the pedal up on the side to which you are turning. Then, when you are confident with the handling, braking and turning, reinsert the battery and ride with the additional battery weight in PAS 0 to gain even more confidence. Finally, make sure you purchase and wear a good quality helmet!
Great suggestions. Yes. The LECTRIC manual recommends you take it in for a tune up as soon as you get it. I've made a couple adjustments myself and plan to do a brake and gear tune up as well. Ours have actually worked quite well out of the box.
Great review. There's another point to consider about the difference in pedal height to the ground between the two bikes. If the seat is set to the correct height for proper leg extension, you will still probably be able to touch the ground on tip-toes while seated on the step through bike. I can do so on my road bike, where the pedal is 3-3/4" from the ground at its lowest point. You probably won't be able to do that with the non step through bike because the seat will be 1.5 inches higher from the ground. This may not be a big deal to many because e-bike riders seem to prefer the seat to be set lower than the "proper" height, but just something to consider.
I rode one of these a week ago and I'm 6'3" so don't be afraid if you're tall because it did not feel small at all with the seat and handlebar adjustments that are good.
I have the black standard XP 2.0 with the cargo & comfort packages. I added a Blackburn USB rechargeable light package with a 300 lumen headlight & a little taillight, both with flashing functions, because moving the standard headlight to the front rack means when you turn, it's no longer lighting your way. Now, the headlight on the handlebars will take care of that without diminishing my visibility. Since it's after midnight here, I will get get a 275lb capacity trailer delivered today.
This review caused me to be about $1,100 lighter in my wallet!! Thanks for calling my attention to the Lectric eBike. It is going to make a great addition to my RV.
This is an informative video for people who are looking to purchase their first e-bike. There's a lot of information available on-line and it's easy to get confused by too much information. I've owned my first e-bike for about 20 months and in my opinion, unless you're an extreme biker, there's only a few things that you might consider. Throttle: My e-bike has pedal-assist only. Frequently, I have difficulty starting from a standing stop. Starting on even a slight incline or on soft ground can be problematic. I'd say a throttle (and preferably a twist throttle on the handle, as you have shown) is a "must have". Step-through: I'm 74 years old and it's challenging for me to lift my leg or twist my hips in order to mount the bike. This is my first step-through style bike and I love it. Tires: Although I haven't yet had a flat I've had my share of them with my traditional bikes. E-bikes are heavier to push than traditional bikes and tire repairs are more challenging. In addition, with an e-bike you tend to go further distances and in more remote places than you would normally. So make sure that you have excellent tires that will resist punctures. If I bought a cheaper bike on-line, the first thing I would do is replace the tires with the best quality tires I could find. Shock absorbers: My e-bike lacks "shocks". And, even though I don't ride long distances over rough terrain, I'd consider shock-absorbtion good to have (especially shocks on the front). What's not really important Battery life/range: From any reviews I've seen, at least for well-known brands, range is more than acceptable for the average rider. I happen to get up to 120 km between charges (which, apparently is excellent) but I wouldn't get upset if I got less than half of that. Hub drive v mid-drive: Again, unless you are an extreme biker, either technology will suit your purposes. Finally, even though I buy a lot of stuff on-line, I wouldn't consider doing that for an e-bike. With all the technology, so much more can go wrong. You will most likely find that the e-bike becomes a necessity and you don't want it to be unavailable waiting for repairs. Hope this helps.
Your video is the best I’ve seen so far on ebikes. I’ve been intimidated with the combination of pedal assist and bike gearing ( a 3 speed Schwinn is biggest I’ve ever had as a kid). Your video took out that concern. Thanks for another great job
Very detailed and insightful review, as always! Thank you! A friend recommended an e-bike recently. He likes it because he doesn't have to worry if we will be able to complete a ride. So, he enjoys his riding more.
I saw a couple of these while doing drone videos down in Fort Myers, FL. I thought the price was great. I decided to build my own ebike. I had the Schwinn 26 in bike and decided to purchase a 1,000 watt rear hub motor and 48v 13 AH battery. Around $600 with a couple additional accessories. Mine is different in that it has a twist throttle like a motorcycle. In fact I can ride entirely without pedaling. Kinda cool. A very slow version of my FJR motorcycle. What I do like about the bikes you are showing, is the folding ability. That really makes transporting them much easier.
I just bought two step thru 2.0 models primarily since the wife is close to 5'-1". Following a brief explanation of functions I got her started with just peddling to get a feel of the bike. She had not been on her bike for two years. A few minutes later she was shifting gears and using peddle assist 1 and 2. She always complained that I rode too fast and left her behind now I won't hear that comment anymore. Since she may be going faster she asked about ebike specific helmets to which I had no answer other than perhaps a ski/snowboard helmet. Your video is the best I have seen. The only comments I have are 1). the manual says to inflate the tires to the pressure indicated on the tires. For our bikes it states 35 lbs. and 2.) if not using the bike for several days it says on P. 17 of the manual to only charge it up to 75% so that it degrades less. Time to do a ride this week. 😀
Thanks Tito. Your video stopped me for making a huge mistake. I was just getting ready to buy two bikes. One for me and one for my wife, and I was planning on ordering one step through for her, and the regular model for myself as you see in your video. I weigh 220 lbs, and she weighs 115. Knowing that weight will affect the total distance you can get out of the battery, I was fully planning on switching out the batteries halfway through when going on really long trips so are both have enough juice to make it to the finish line, as mine would run down much quicker than hers. I just presumed that the batteries were the same in both bikes. Your video clued me into the fact that they're not, so I ended up ordering two steps through models instead to make sure the batteries are the same size and will fit into either bike. I never seen any other video review mention it. So thank God I watched yours, otherwise I would of ended up kicking myself after discovering that they are not the same battery in both models. Thanks again!
I must say you covered all aspects of these bikes. I have both an XP & XP 2.0 and enjoy both of them very much. Excellent narrating and keep the videos coming
Great job on your review Tito! I like many of your other subscribers have seen many other reviews and yours is by far the best. I have had my Lectric XP 1.0 for about a year now and have about 1700 miles on it. Love the bike! Wife got one as well but when they came out with the 2.0 which has the front suspension she had to have it. So her white ST came and we sold her 1.0 in one day for almost what we paid for it. We get stopped by people all of the time when we are on our bikes asking about them. We do put them in totes and load them into our fifth wheel out of the elements as we travel state to state. Please note that e-bikes right now are a very high theft item so we don’t like to have them on a rack outside our rig for that reason.
We've also get stopped alot with these. I also keep them covered and locked up when camped or on the rack with the handbars folded down. So you can't really tell what's underneath.
Really enjoyed your presentation compared to so many others out there; I'd rate yours in the TOP 5 category for easy to understand, clarity, and process. Well done. You actually convinced me to order my bike! Also reading Joan's comments she said it right - You Nailed It!
I respect the views of your wife as well for ease of use for her. My wife can align with her for her anticipations of an E-Bike. Great on road videos. Thanks
Tito, I want to tell you that I have been watching reviews on eBikes for a couple of months now and this is by far the most comprehensive, unbiased review I have watched. I really like the looks of the Lectric bike. Have you done any reviews on other eBikes? I'd love to watch them.
This is the best video I have watched on these. Thank you so much. The company ought to link to this once a purchase is made. Folks will feel much more confident after watching this video. 👍👍
I just purchased a Lectric EBike, step thru model. I haven't gone for a ride yet, but your video was very informative and it has answered a lot of questions about the bike. Thank you very much and safe riding to you both as well.
We bought version 1 from Lectric in Aug 2019. Based on UA-camrs reviews like yours. We have been very please with the bike. Customer service is very available and prompt. Since i pedal the bike mostly, i have only had to charge it one in the two years we have own it. Got a few ideas from your video. We store our inside to prevent theft. Appreciate the video.
That's great to hear that you've had a good experience too. I appreciate the feedback. I keep it locked up pretty well when on the back of the RV. I also keep one in our car folded up and covered. Sometimes I take the battery out. My fear is losing the keys :)
@@RVwithTito we were told early on to store without the battery install in the Lectric since 30% of the bike price is the battery. Also, if the theft ride off with your Lectric, Most people wont get far on a 65 lb e-bike without a battery. I pedal it mostly without using the motor as practice for bikepacking since my non-ebike with all my camping gear weighs about the same 65 lbs. Btw, i also have a 1st gen tacoma :)
We are starting to look at E-Bikes. Noticed you had a UA-cam video of one. Knew that it would be an excellent review since you are very detail oriented. Nice Job! Happy that you had Melissa reviewing it also from her perspective. Wife will especially appreciate her comments! Thanks!
I have the XP STEP-THRU 1.0. Thank you for such a thorough review of the LECTRIC eBikes. I’m still really pleased with 1.0 I kept my styrofoam to place between the bike while transporting it. Two of my friends have purchased the 2.0 STEP-THRUS. In my opinion, LECTRIC has proven to have the best customer service. I haven’t had any problems with my eBike, but I have called and emailed them quite a bit before and after receiving my eBike because I had lots of questions, like when will I receive my eBike, and how to change the tire size to make the speedometer more accurate. After riding for a full year, my eBike operates perfectly. Now, I’m communicating with the city about getting bike lanes and signs to protect cyclists while riding through the city.
Great vid. I have had mine about 3 months. As an 80 year old a couple thoughts. I had not been on a bike for about 65 years so I rode without any power for a couple weeks, just get used to balance again. Adjust the seat so you can put both feet on the ground while seated. As you build confidence raise the seat to provide an easer pedaling height. I use the walk assist and I like the cruise control for longer rides. Overall a great bike. Thanks again for an informative vid.
I'm 67 years old and haven't been on a bicycle since I was in my early 20's. I don't want to spend a lot of money if I can't ride it. My balance isn't what it use to be, but you have given me encouragement to take the leap to an E-Bike. I suppose if I can't ride it without falling off, I can sell it.
@@sandraswarts9186 a couple of things to consider. The bike is heavy so be sure to set the seat low enough that you can have both feet in the ground when seated. For the first several rides do not turn on the power, just pedal as a normal bike. Your balance will come back quickly. Good luck
Good review! I have had my XP for 2 years now, and it is monotonously reliable. I have changed out the pedals and the bars to suit me better, but no issues concerning reliability at all. If you want the mileage to not reset during stops, go into the settings and change P 04 to the highest setting, which may be NEVER, but it was 2 years ago that I set it, so I'm not certain now. This will keep your trip mileage as long as you leave the power on. You should find it set to 10, which is the factory default.
This video comes at a great time for us. We just ordered a couple of Juiced Ripcurrent S bikes. The ones that we ordered are more of a full size fat tire bike and they don't fold up. Luckily for us we have a toy hauler and will set up a bike rack type thing. My wife has pretty significant knee problems including one that has already been replaced. So we are super excited to be able to get her out more to explore more when we are camping. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with your new toys! Great video.
We just got ours and bought 3rd party seats and suspension seat shafts also a motorcycle cell phone holder. We both (wife and I) got the XP-ST 2.0. These bikes are built tuff and best bang for the buck.
Thanks for the review. My wife and I both have step-through. We rode a rail trail not long ago. It wasn’t paved. We rode 40 miles round trip. I got about 39.5 miles before my battery died. She went all the way and still had a little. She’s younger than I am. That last 1/2 mile tough!
Like others have stated this is a great in depth review. As a newbie looking for an easy comfortable bike to ride you hit some key factors. We also have an RV and looking for extra space to store a bike can be challenging but the folding bike is a winner. Thank you!
I have an E-bike, but if I had it to do again, I would choose one where the step-through is as low as possible. My bike folds, which is not a feature I have so far needed to make used of. The high step through has often proven to be an issue when needing to mount and dismount quickly. I do like the idea of chuncky tires rather than standard kind. A local cycle repair shop, which specializes in commuter bikes is a great resource for electric bike repairs, they also offer free pick-up and delivery, and charge surprisingly little for repair services compared to other bike repair stores in town. One of which charges and extra $200.00 if one's bike was not purchased from them. The majority of bike shops have no clue when it comes to electric bike repair. There is also inexpensive insurance for electric bikes that can be purchased online. I make it a point to never leave my bike unattended even with a strong lock.Having it registered with police is also a good idea, to be able to prove ownership.
very good overview.. however, did not cover the problems with theft or what precautions to use (what chain to use, take battery out when parked? ) other.. how does this bike brand compare to competition..I liked the position of the mirror being under handlebars.. appreciate your response..thanks..
Currently using a thick cable lock, but plan to buy a couple of these amzn.to/3qK2xC0 (the 110cm model) as soon as we get settled again. When parked, I keep them chained up to the RV chassis and covered with keys out.
Thank you for a great and thorough review. I am in the market for an Ebike and settled on the Lectric bike, but haven't purchased yet and I'm glad I saw this video so I can buy you guys a beer! ✌👍😉
Enjoyed your Review & Comments that concern the Lectric E-Bikes, I have the Black 2.0 Step-Thru model and really enjoy riding my Bike. I have a few accessories, a Left hand Mirror, A Bell, Tire pressure Gage, A Bike Lock, New Seat post and Seat, 2 rechargeable Flashing Red Safety Lights, a Bright Yellow Reflective Safety Vest, although I haven't done any night time Riding, still good for Daylight riding.
Wow! One of the best demo videos of any kind that I have ever seen. I appreciate all the detail on how to use and start the bike. I especially like the 50 gallon tub recommendation for the back of my equinox. I feel like this will be the better way for me to put it in the back for travel rather than the willy-nilly shove it in there. Thank you very much.
You cant get two of the bikes in the Equinox can you? I have a Equinox and just ordered two Lectric ebikes... but that tote looks awfully large for the back of the car....
THANK YOU! Buying an ebike for the first time is so overwhelming. Your video answered every question I had and made me feel confident in my choice of bike and options.
Good timing, we've been looking at eBikes this weekend, I'll defiantly buy you a beer next time we see you, Great video as always, and the Best Ebike review we've seen
Tito that was an excellent review! My wife and I went with the Aventon Pace 500 e-bike due to the weight difference of all most 20 lbs. I think Lectric bike customers service is much better. Thanks
One of the best review video’s I have watched! Thank you for your attention to detail. I was trying to decide if this bike would meet my needs or if i would be disappointed that I didn’t purchase a larger version. You answered all of my questions including ones I hadn’t thought of! The tip at the end was the icing on the cake! Hope you and your wife are able to continue to travel and enjoy!
Really happy that our video helped you out. Yes. We are in Alaska now with a couple Lectric bikes on the back 👍 Join us on Instagram @rvwithtito for our travels. Cheers!
I've watched at least a dozen videos on the 2.0, (it's at a great price right now, with added accessories). By far the most informative one I've watched. Thank you, great job.
You're welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it. BTW they have recently added hydraulic brakes and more efficient pedal assist to the 3.0 at no extra cost. Happy hunting :)
Fantastic review! I was on the fence but you convinced me to purchase (which I did through your affiliate link). It is clear you put a ton of work into this video. Thank you for helping me make an informed decision!
You brought up some good points I had not thought about and I was thinking about these E Bikes for my wife and I: #1, The batteries being different between the two body styles.( I assumed they would be the same) and #2 The pedals being lower on the step through. These two issues might lead me to get two of the same model depending on my wife's ability to get on to the taller one. If I have to ride the step through at 6'2" and 210 pounds then that's what I will do. Luckily, I am secure in my manhood. Lol I prefer the higher ground clearance for our gravel road but we won't be doing a lot of high speed turning. We are both in our sixties. It was a very good video; very broad and specific. Thank you. Ray
Thanks for the review and thumb up. This is one of the E-Bikes I've been looking at. I wonder how expensive a second battery might be? That could double your range.
What you may not be aware of. We had another brand full size ebike. And when you begin peddling it would automatically kick into power and jerk forward. The Lectric gradually build up the assist. Big difference. We actually sold the other brand due to that. We live our LECTRIC bikes. Also like that all the electronics andotor is water proof.
@RV with Tito DIY My Tito shades turned out great 👍 sooo, if YOU say these Lectric bikes are fun and a good buy, that's good enough for me. I'll place my order tomorrow. Thanks again Tito !!
So glad to hear about the shades. I'll be making more soon for the Class A. I just need boss approval on curtain color :) You won't regret the getting the bike. We get looks all the time and we let lots of people ride them.
Great job explaining all the details. I just got mine the other day, and the manual is a little hard to understand. I had to read it a couple of times to comprehend things.... but your video helped clarify things. Thank you.... also where did you get the 50 gallon storage container from.... I like that idea. Thanks Jim
This is one of the better videos that I have seen on the Lectric brand of ebikes. I bought the first model, no referred to as the 1.0. I like the idea of a tote with wheels for maneuverability when folded. Happy biking.
We have the NCM brand here in Australia ,They are 42 volt we have a motorcycle carrier on the back of our RV and just put them both on there , we charge from the inverter and have never had a drama Longest ride in one day was 80 Kilometres (Yes our Butts hurt bad ) Dint ride for a week , Oh both have hand trottles and Pedal assist , We love them Great vid as usual Rob NSW Australia
Just received the step through 2.0 for my wife. I went out and purchased the metric folding allen wrench set. Needed 2.5 to adjust P.A.S. control and 3 to tighten the screen display in place. We also found the throttle came into play nicely if you had just stopped for a minute. Use the throttle to get moving rather then peddles. Lastly the seven speed part you'll be adjusting up as you use the PAS 3,4,5, modes. Helps with not spinning the pedals like your generating electricity.
Great video, very thorough, and like Dave said below, extremely informative! Hands down, the best e-bike video I've watched thus far! Thanks so very much :)
I bought an electric Brompton- fits in the gas locker- 2x 11kg bottles (I added underslung tanks so it's available space). Take it in to the supermarket inside the cart for small to medium shops so don't have to worry about leaving it outside. Your bikes look great and will be better on rougher ground though I take the Brompton along rough tracks. Getting an Orbea Rise or a Trek Rail 9 for the really rougher stuff of the Highlands.
Great review. Didn't know about the ground clearance issue btwn models. Can you add some charging info please? Like how long to fully charge from zero? Also, of course it will be faster from a half charge state, but maybe there is a charge speed rate change if the battery starts at 50%?
My v1 standard XP charges from empty to full in about 6 hours using the original charger (2A). You can get a faster charger (I got the Cycle Satiator - now over $350) because it would charge much faster and had several different charge cycles one could use, especially the one to lengthen battery life (don't fully charge batteries or they wear out faster - run them between 85% down to 15% to get better life),
This is a very informative blog because today is my first long ride. I road yesterday for my first ride (one mile). You gave me a lot of good hints on how to ride my Lectric eBike 2.0. I just got my eBike two days ago on 11-16-21.
I have the first one and it's a great ride. BUT, if you leave the key in, it will bend upon closing (all the cabling).. If you are lucky, you will be able to straighten it without snapping it in half or breaking it off inside the battery..!! Fun..!@! Be sure remove the tires and re-line the rim with heavier tape or wider interior rim liners, as the original will be twisted with the result being the spoke nuts wearing through the tube..!! Also, be sure to 'slime' the tube interior as the tires are tissue paper no matter WHAT anyone says.. Two years ago a 1/16" thorn taught me the lesson.. Don't let the 'knobs' fool you.. I also lined between the tire and the tube for extra insurance.. BTW, you are just going to 'LOVE' removing the rear tire... LOL! Better do some research as you'll need it.. LOL! The brakes are junk, too. Over time, you will need to tighten the spokes to remove the crunching sound..!! After I did all that I've been a happy camper ever since... I did posts years ago describing all this on reviewers who don't talk about all this because they received them for free... Yes, I'd buy it again... I like your style Toto, muchicimas gracias..!!
@@pjf7943 Thanks for the great suggestions. I've been planning on putting some slime in there. Luckily I haven't had the key issue yet. So I'll follow your suggestion. I have had friends who have broken keys off but it was just from turning too hard.
The most informative and helpful video I’ve ever watched (on any topic). My wife and I have been researching e bikes and had many questions. You answered them all. When we buy our Lectric XPs, we’ll order through your affiliate link. You deserve it!
really thorough review! it seems like for the money and with the standard features you really cant beat the Lectric bike in comparison to others. i like the extra's also, seat basket, especially the mirror's. i dont think my standard rv bike rack would support these. what bike rack do you use or recommend? also can these handle getting rained on during transport or do you use a cover? i really didnt want to use cover because i haul them on the front of b+ rv and may block radiator for cooling. thanks for making this video.
Thanks. I put a link to the ebike rack in the description. I've used a standard bike rack (before the ebike rack), but only for one bike. I kept the second bike in the car. Yes. I always use a bike cover. Helps keeps the road grime off plus obscures it. I understand why you wouldn't want to use a cover on the front...makes sense.
Great Review! Wondered about a 20" sized bike vs a 26" traditional bike. But, you answered all of the questions. Mainly, would your feet drag the ground or the pedals impact the ground when turning? Looks like a very versatile bike, especially for the money. I also like the throttle which is not usually equipped on bikes at this price point. I live in a coastal area where bikes left inside storage sheds still corrode from the salt air. The foldable option allows me to take it indoors over the winter and doesn't take up a lot of space. I like your storage tub idea.
Because of its size you'll definitely feel more stable on a 26" fat tire bike, but you definitely lose the portability. We've ridden both types. The 20" wheel bikes like the LECTRIC still feel pretty good. It's just a different experience.
I really enjoy your videos and we're looking into E-bikes. Problem is that we boondock all of the time and sometimes we need to stay at places like Walmart, Lowe's, cracker barrel etc. It already happens twice that they tried to steal our bikes. That's currently our issues which prevents us from buying E-bikes. Do you have any good tips on that? They just cut the lock, so that worries me. We can only but it on the back of our 19ft van, so no option to put them inside.
We boondock 100% too. I collapse the seats and fold down the handle bars. Then they are double locked to the bumper. Finally, we have a large bike cover that covers both bikes. So you can't really tell what's inside. So far so good. I think keeping them covered is a good start. You can't see from a distance what's under there. Bottom line is that there are no guarantees. I also got a couple of these alarms that go off if anyone touches your bike. Just haven't used them yet since we're in our sticks and bricks right now.
@@RVwithTito That's a great idea 💡 are those just like tarp? Or hard covers? We have no sticks and bricks house, full-time travel is the only thing we do . Keep up the good work!!
@@stevenerkman3230 Not a hard cover just a vinyl cover with elastic and tie straps. They take a beating from the sun but are cheap enough to buy a new one each year or two.
Great review. I just ordered one of these. Now UA-cam wants to show me every review of them out there. Every other video review I watched, they complained about how they don't lock in position when folded, and I kept saying "Just use a bungee cord!" And hey, look! You're doing just that! Props to you!

@sharron green The bikes are sold by LECTRIC eBikes. Unfortunately, their XP 2.0 model a max capacity of 330 lbs.
Which mirrors do you have?

This is the best E-Bike video I have watched by far. Very informative, easy to listen to, no annoying accompanying music, just information presented in a logical learning sequence. It has been a pleasure to listen to this. Thank you.
Thanks so much for the feedback. I really appreciate that.
Yes. Good point. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll keep that in mind if I store it. Too busy riding it right now though :)
They will also last longer if you only charge them to 80%. Search for Luna Chargers. I have been using one for my ebike for the past two years and they fantastic. You can charge 80,90,100 percent at 1-5 amps. Really helps for a quick charge the times you need it.
Yes seems lots folks are not educated on lithium battery care..on another note, phones, I see so many people that leave their iPhone charging all day, they say oh Apple says you can do that..I got news..that you can't keep ur phone charging all day, it will degrade ur battery I've seen it first hand many times off course Apple wants u degrade ur battery, more money sooner for them,
Thanks!
I'm so glad that walkthrough was helpful. Thanks for letting me know.
Just had my first day on my lectric bike it sure was fun
So glad you showed riding on a Hwy as I will have to do. What DMV requirements do you need for these bikes please?
@@beverlybowman9059 There aren't any, but wear a helmet. As long as they don't go faster than 28 mph, DMV does not care in any state.
This was the perfect video for me. As a senior who just purchased two Lectric e-bikes without knowing anything about them, I learned so much from this video. I'm hoping that my wife and I can start out with electric only mode and the progress through the various pedal assist modes to get back in shape.
So glad it was helpful. Enjoy riding!
Thanks so much for sharing your story. We're very glad to hear that the step through helped you and Lulu to be mobile again. Cheers!
Makes total sense. That's the most comfortable position for me as well. Thanks for the adjustment tip!
So ist es...fast alle stellen den Sattel zu tief. Sieht doof aus und ist gesundheitsschädlich !
Can this bike be put on a bike rack for the back of a car or is it too heavy??
@@beverlybowman9059 in Germany you are supposed to have a biker rack rated for the weight of the bike(s).
It would make sense to remove the batteries.
@@Rabe1907 yes absolutely. Most of this misconceptions comes from setting saddles for kids so they can touch the ground.
My husband and I just purchased 2 of the step thru bikes. We both are older ( 65 and 73) so we feel that with the pedal assist and all the convenience of the bike ,we will be
able to venture out and enjoy the outdoors more. We enjoyed your video and will be referring to it often.
We can't wait to get our bikes.
Glad to hear it will get you outside. You'll have a lot of fun with them. Thanks for passing it on!!
I really appreciate your review of these bikes. You review saves all of us viewers from the need to figure out that a meaningful difference between the standard and step-through is the pedal height. Not important to many, but very meaningful to some ! This seems like a great travel, eBike.
Glad you found it helpful.
Glenn
Thanks so much Glenn for the wonderful feedback. Enjoy the bike!
Great video....extremely informative! Hands down, the best e-bike video I've watched.
Wow, thanks! Glad you liked it.
We have had a Lectric XP for about a year and a half, they are great bikes and an amazing value. We bought a Lectric around the same time my parents bought a Sondors, theirs was almost twice the price and had fewer options.
I agree. There are lots of bikes available, but the LECTRIC bikes have the most features for the buck. Glad you liked yours.
You're the only one that talked about the height difference. So glad you mentioned that and changed my mind to the standard version.
Hi Tito,
I've been studying these Lectric eBikes for awhile. Thank you for showing a few features I haven't seen other reviewers show;
The pedal height between the 2 models is important and will sway my decision on with model to buy.

All the best to you both
Thanks Walt! I appreciate your feedback. We're so glad we helped you out. Maybe we'll see you out riding!
This is one of the best niche hobby videos I've ever seen. I bought a lectric with your link before I was even halfway through watching it. Everything is well explained and didnt leave me with any questions. Thank you for doing it!
I appreciate your feedback Jason. Enjoy the bike!
We're brand new E-bikers. We just bought the same two Lectric XP 2.0 models you and your wife have! Your overview was extremely well done and most helpful - thanks very much!
You're welcome. We appreciate your feedback. Enjoy riding!
Nice. That works!
Great! Glad it helped answer your questions. Enjoy the ride.
what's your firs point when decided to purchase an E-bike
@@Mia-kf2ie I became interested in them after I started seeing them pop up on UA-cam.

Thanks for the great feedback! You're very welcome.
so far, this is the most accurate and friendly review that i have watched. good job sir and mom. i just subscribe from your channel. i am a filipino living here in canada and i can fully understand you because you speaks a little slower as compared to others which im having difficulty understand them. im gonna buy one, the problem is they asking much on the deivery fee, which is 200.
They are on sale now. The discount may cover shipping 👍
Perhaps some additional suggestions/information:
- After unboxing the XP, make sure to check the tightness of all bolts and hardware and torque them to the specs listed in the manual. If you don't have the tools, your local bike shop can do the job;
- Our XP came with a bent derailleur guard (common shipping issue) which prevented up-shifting beyond gear 3, so I wrapped a piece of rubber around the guard and straightened it with a longer handled adjustable wrench;
- Our brake pads needed to be aligned with the rotors to prevent drag and brake noise...easily done with an ball-tipped allen wrench and some patience.
Thanks for your input.
I rode one of these a week ago and I'm 6'3" so don't be afraid if you're tall because it did not feel small at all with the seat and handlebar adjustments that are good.
Thanks for sharing that 👍
I have the black standard XP 2.0 with the cargo & comfort packages.
Ooops!! :) Hope you enjoy it!
What's not really important
Battery life/range: From any reviews I've seen, at least for well-known brands, range is more than acceptable for the average rider.
Thanks for sharing your insight. Very helpful.
I just got my Lectric. I’m taking on my 3rd ride today. Absolutely love it! Excellent review!
Thanks! Have fun!
These are becoming game changers for getting around those mega camp grounds, quick runs to town, and just exploring. Thanks for sharing
Agree. Not sure if we'll ride our other bikes anymore 😄
Your video is the best I’ve seen so far on ebikes. I’ve been intimidated with the combination of pedal assist and bike gearing ( a 3 speed Schwinn is biggest I’ve ever had as a kid). Your video took out that concern. Thanks for another great job
You'll get the hang of it quickly. Thanks for the feedback!
My husband and I bought these bikes in 2021 and we love them. We take on the RV and use as our get around town mode.
Yes. It's a great way to explore. We do the same.
Very detailed and insightful review, as always! Thank you! A friend recommended an e-bike recently. He likes it because he doesn't have to worry if we will be able to complete a ride. So, he enjoys his riding more.
They are very fun and makes us re-evaluate how we ride bikes.
Nice custom build. We transport our mostly on a bike rack and occasionally load them in the car which is when the foldability comes in handy.
Thanks for the tips. Glad your wife is enjoying it. Have fun!
Enjoy! Glad I could help.
I must say you covered all aspects of these bikes.
I have both an XP & XP 2.0
and enjoy both of them very much.
Excellent narrating and keep the videos coming
Thanks for the feedback. Glad you like them! We're enjoying ours too.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Enjoy the bike!
I respect the views of your wife as well for ease of use for her. My wife can align with her for her anticipations of an E-Bike. Great on road videos. Thanks
Glad to hear that. I enjoy sharing her perspective. Thanks!
Tito, I want to tell you that I have been watching reviews on eBikes for a couple of months now and this is by far the most comprehensive, unbiased review I have watched. I really like the looks of the Lectric bike. Have you done any reviews on other eBikes? I'd love to watch them.
Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that. I've done one other review a couple weeks ago. Go to my channel page and you'll see it.
Any first E bike is the best! Especially at our age! Hills, Wind, Long distance! Whole lot a fun!!!
I totally agree!
This is the best video I have watched on these. Thank you so much. The company ought to link to this once a purchase is made. Folks will feel much more confident after watching this video. 👍👍
Hey good idea. They just might! Thanks for the feedback.
I just purchased a Lectric EBike, step thru model. I haven't gone for a ride yet, but your video was very informative and it has answered a lot of questions about the bike. Thank you very much and safe riding to you both as well.
Hope you enjoy the bike. Cheers!
Thanks!
Glad it was helpful! We do enjoy them. What did she think?
Yeah. We're pretty happy too. More and more folks are riding eBikes now and it's one of the fastest growing vehicle sectors.
@@RVwithTito You’re absolutely right!
All You need now Brian for those Bikes is to put a little Flatbed trailer behind em to put Your Solars Panels on to keep em charged...😉👍
May have to wear a solar jacket or something :)
Thanks for sharing your experiences with this bike as well as the walk assist and cruise control.
Good luck
@@sandraswarts9186 Best of luck. Ease into it and take it nice and slow at first.
@@geraldkoger5681 Thanks!
That's great to hear. Thanks for the settings tip. They now have a long-range battery available, but it isn't cheap.
You're welcome. The step through is very easy to get in and out. Hope she likes it.
Great job, thank you
@@danp7399 You're very welcome!
We just got ours and bought 3rd party seats and suspension seat shafts also a motorcycle cell phone holder. We both (wife and I) got the XP-ST 2.0. These bikes are built tuff and best bang for the buck.
I think you'll enjoy them. Cheers!
40 miles is pretty good. Glad you enjoyed the review.
My 2 Lectric XP 2.0 bikes delivered today!! Batteries still charging....tomorrow will be the test drive. Very good video!.
Like others have stated this is a great in depth review. As a newbie looking for an easy comfortable bike to ride you hit some key factors. We also have an RV and looking for extra space to store a bike can be challenging but the folding bike is a winner. Thank you!
You're very welcome! Glad this helped you out.
Can I ask how tall you are? I’m only about 5feet and am wondering if it would be good for me? It doesn’t say how tall the bikes are at all.
@@wynterlee733 I'm 5-9" and my wife is 5-5". I hope that helps.
Are the Logos stickers?Would definitely need to be removed. Frame is Aluminum correct ?

Sounds like you've got it all :) Have fun!
Wow. Thanks for that feedback. You're very welcome.
THANK YOU! Buying an ebike for the first time is so overwhelming. Your video answered every question I had and made me feel confident in my choice of bike and options.

Tito that was an excellent review! My wife and I went with the Aventon Pace 500 e-bike due to the weight difference of all most 20 lbs. I think Lectric bike customers service is much better. Thanks
Glad you liked the review. Yes. 20lbs is significant.

@@brookzee76 Nice. We like the seat, mirror and rear basket.
$299 per their website.
Even the LECTRIC can surprise you that first time if you've never experienced it, but you're right you get used to it quickly.

Great job explaining all the details. I just got mine the other day, and the manual is a little hard to understand. I had to read it a couple of times to comprehend things.... but your video helped clarify things. Thank you.... also where did you get the 50 gallon storage container from.... I like that idea. Great to hear. Either Home Depot or Lowes has those big totes. Enjoy the bike!
Very outstanding explanation 😊
This is one of the better videos that I have seen on the Lectric brand of ebikes. I bought the first model, no referred to as the 1.0. I like the idea of a tote with wheels for maneuverability when folded. Happy biking.

Thanks! I'm glad it was helpful for you.
Good stuff!
Very good electric bike!❤😊
We really enjoyed it.
Great review. Didn't know about the ground clearance issue btwn models. Can you add some charging info please? Like how long to fully charge from zero? Also, of course it will be faster from a half charge state, but maybe there is a charge speed rate change if the battery starts at 50%?
Thanks! It's 4-6 hours for full charge. I haven't had it to zero yet, but when I've charged them they seem to charge pretty quickly.
Enjoy!
Don't forget to lock the battery in place and REMOVE THE KEY before closing the bike..!!! ALWAYS remove the key before closing..!!!
Curious. What has happened when you keep the key in?

Wow! Any topic? :) We hope you have a great time on the bikes.
really thorough review! it seems like for the money and with the standard features you really cant beat the Lectric bike in comparison to others. i like the extra's also, seat basket, especially the mirror's. i dont think my standard rv bike rack would support these. what bike rack do you use or recommend? also can these handle getting rained on during transport or do you use a cover? i really didnt want to use cover because i haul them on the front of b+ rv and may block radiator for cooling. thanks for making this video.
