Glad you did this video, I have been watching videos on this bike for almost a month trying to decide if it would be good for me. Yours is the first video from someone not exclusively an ebike reviewer. I feel your review is a little more real for a viewer like myself. Thanks for doing this.
I just received my XPEAK bikes and will be putting them together today. I've watched Tito for a couple years now mainly about RV's. Tito is amazing, very practical and really smart. I love that it never seems like you're in school it's just a conversation. I've learned quite a bit from his videos. When I saw he did a video on the XPEAK I was really surprised especially since I had already ordered them after extensive research. Have fun with your bike and thanks again to Tito and his wife for the great video.
Just bought one… turning 70 in June…this is my 2nd Lectric and just love that they love what they do! You did awesome. I watched the whole video. Well done.
Just wanted to say how much I appreciate you putting the bike together step by step. Things like the measurement with the wheel off are really useful to real people. Will definitely be watching your channel.
I was dead set on getting the lectric xp 3.0 until I saw a commercial for this new version the other day. Now I find myself researching this bike. I've watched numerous videos on this bike and this by far is my favorite. You're such a positive person that I wish I knew personally. Thank you for your evaluation about this bike
Yea I have the 2.0 step thru and was gonna get the 3.0 soon until I saw this beast Also I have a extra battery for my 2.0 and I ride with it in one of my paneer bags so I get average 60-100 miles when riding I have the 14.4amp battey 48 v in the bike and the 10 amp in my bag But can't wait to get the peak
I've watched quite a few videos on the XPeak, yours by far was the most informative. I prepurchased a step-through and waiting for my bike to arrive. Thanks for mentioning the bar required to use on the bike rack, I have one similar to yours. I bought some additional accessories given the Christmas discounts offered on Lectric's website. Thanks again for a well produced video.
Great review! We have XP version one and Step through version 2 and we often bring our batteries down to one square. Our batteries have been around for a while and still give us 20 to 25 miles and we too are in a very hilly community. As many reviews as I have seen on Lectric bikes, yours is the first to take a Lectric down to one bar. Getting down to one bar makes you more creative in how you ride :) Thanks for all your videos.
Thanks! Normally we don't draw the battery down that far on our typical 5-15 mile rides. So I'm glad I was able to push it this time. It made for a good test. I definitely had to get creative towards the end, but now I know how this bike rides without a motor :) Thanks for the comment.
@@RVwithTito LOL! I've been hung up twice pushing the bike to make it home when accidentally hitting the throttle and having the bike shut off on me. Turning it off and then back on resets it but it's always on a hill in an awkward situation. I believe the safety shut off is to help save the battery so I'm not complaining (much) 🙂
Thanks so much for a great, and realistic review! Based on your teaching, I just ordered the X Peak High Step when the sale came with a free extra battery! By your review of range experienced, I expect that TWO batteries will give me over 50 miles range. You answered EVERY concern I had about this bike. Much appreciated.
Loved your video. I bought an XP3.0 end of November and made lots of upgrades. I just ordered the new XPeak step through and can’t wait to get it. I’ve watched a lot of videos and yours is one of the best. Convinced me I made the right decision. Thank you and your wonderful wife.
Recently bought an XPedition and while waiting for it to arrive, watching many review videos. This is by far the best review, because of it's focus on 'how to' use it. Other reviews are just infomercials rattling of specs and leading to by affiliate link accessories. I'm buying a tool for both fun transportation/cargo hauling, and the operational details apply to this model and other Lectric models. Well done!
I'm researching the right e-Bike for me and found this video incredibly informative and comprehensive in its review of the XPeak bike. You answered so many of my questions. Thank you!!!
I just bought one. Its a little cold here in Montana to be riding. Far superior to the folding electric ebike I had. Your video was easy to watch . Enjoy the way you presented the information and how you covered the basics. Well done. Thank you
Just got mine, I have ridden it one mile because of all the rain we are getting today. Liked the feel of it and it felt sturdy and safe. Your video helped me understand the in's and out's much better. Looking forward to a pretty day to venture out and test it out and put it through it's paces.
I enjoyed your video very much. I have not considered purchasing a e-bike for myself but several people I know either have one or really wants one so I needed to see what all the fuss was about. I learned a lot from you. Thank you.
34:00 this is how I Fried my Lectric e-bike 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️🤔🤔🤪 I was riding it back home and it ran out of power and I Continued to pedal to get home and an error code came up that I had no more motor 😢😢😢
Interesting. Good to know. I never got a code since it was giving me a tiny bit of juice, just not enough to make a difference. I know they've been making lots of tweaks and improvements on the controllers.
Brian, I enjoy all your videos! I've been thinking about bikes and/or ebikes for my wife and I. I have ridden the foldable ebike from Lectric and didn't like the small tires etc. I really liked what I saw in your review, range, ride, features, it's a easy decision to spend the additional money for this full size version. I'm old enough that extreme biking of any kind is not in my future. So, this would certainly be a great option for me VS $3500 plus for anything else I have looked at.
Very informative review. I pre-ordered my high step XPeak a month ago, without reading this review. Now having seen the review, I am more comfortable with my purchses. This will be my first EBike and I wasn't so much concerned about having a mountain bike, but at 6'2" with some body weight :) , I preferred the higher stance that was shown. Most of my riding will be short distance on paved (although bumpy roads). Also in this area, south eastern Virginia, is very flat, our highest elevation is a speed bump on the road. I took advantage of the cargo rack and accessory package as I plan on using it for errands, as well as the larger seat , mirrors and a phone holder, which put me at ~ $1,500 US . I now really can't wait for it to arrive. Thanks again for the review. Edit: I received the unit 2 days aof. Packaging was perfect, no dings or anything dented broken. I have only tested on my driveway due to weather and that I have not ridden a bike 25 years. All seemed to work. Looking forward to more time with it.
I think you'll enjoy this bike like we do. I plan to get a high step one as well. I hope you get yours soon. Enjoy riding and let us know what you think. Cheers!
My good man you did an awesome review, I've been watching lectric ebikes and you help me a lot. I know I want one cause I like fishing and I think this would be a great addition to my arsenal. My better half don't feel that she would use it as much. I want to surf fish but don't like the walk to better fishing spots. I love the price point and will keep watching. But you did a great job!
Great review of a bike I’m interested in. I’ve watched your RV reviews and this one was comparable to your other videos, very comprehensive! Wish they had put a bigger battery on the XPeak! Other than that, a nice all around e-bike! Thanks!
Yes. The model in this video was a pre-production model with no fenders. Lectric also has regular specials that include more accessories. Check the latest at rvwithtito.com/lectric
Nice job, Brian! Would like to see a model with not so fat tires for less resistance on pavement and also a longer range battery (50 miles) would be great!
Totally agree. Most bike rider historical experience is a road bike/commuter bike or city cruiser. I want a lighter cruiser style but with strong motor for hills and big battery for mileage. Most cruisers available do not have the best power/storage combo.
@@RVwithTito I didn’t see that, I ordered 2 XPeak’s and used your link. Super happy and excited. I hope your video helps others too, in a crowded market with Many choices. Enjoy that cold beer!
Just got an xpeak delivered, bought it as a gift to a friend, i have the radrover 6 . This seems comparable. Cant wait to "test drive" it....maybe my friend will never see it...😂. Setting it up now. Wish i saw your video before i bought it, i would have used your link. Great video.
Ordered one using your link and when you purchase it asked where did you see it, I put in your channel and link. Kinda wanted the high step but shipping time went from Feb 6 to April as I was checking it over this am. I’m 6’ so the step over should work just fine and it comes we free racks front and back at this time. The distance seems ok to me. You had a few hills there and 25 miles seems pretty good to me.
Great, informative video, its helping me choose between XP 3.0 and XPeak-thanks for your direct teaching style, no fluff to get thru before the meat of the video. I'm curious about your heated vest - can you add a link or just give us info on it? How is it powered? I used to have heated liners that plugged into my motorcycles, but I imagine yours has its own power.
Thanks! - We have the E-Trike - very happy with it - quite well built, and stable. I think I would like to see a dual motor version of this particular unit (front and rear - with a bigger battery, for sure). Merry Christmas to you both! - Cheers!
The battery probably shut down at about 43 volts which is the usual Lectric shutdown voltage. As you noted, you are probably outside the expected range of this bike. Optional secondary batteries and balancer devices are available after market.
Excellent review with a lot of valuable info. Thanks I have a 1up bike rack that does not require a crossbar, that is why I purchased it, since all my bikes are step thru. 1up is one of the few that latches over your tires. I took a step Thru bike 1,500 miles with my 1up bike rack, about 1/2 way across the US and had no problem. Have also driven across South Dakota and Montana to Idaho and back with my 1up again no problem. 1up makes a very good bicycle rack, not cheap at about $700 for the one that handles 2 heavier bikes.
Nice ebike and thorough review. One caution for mail order bikes is many bike shops will not service them or those that will service them charge a surcharge. So for someone like yourself with advanced dyi skills, likely not a problem, but for those who are unable to service and repair bikes, it could be a problem. Personally I prefer to support local bike shops, even though I have the bike repair skills and tools.
Yes, I agree with you that it's great to support local bike shops as long as they are friendly and accommodating. I know they've all taken a big hit as a result of direct-to-customer bike sales. Lots of folks I've heard from have had mixed experiences when taking their eBike in for service or tune-up. They often get attitude and push-back saying that the eBike they bought online is junk and they should have bought from them (for much more). Of course, I like to promote DIY :)
Thanks for the review! It looks amazing. I have the XP 3.0 and love it, but would like to ride rougher trails with confidence. I'll probably wait for the XPeak 2.0 with, hopefully, a larger battery.
thanks for video. Actually just ordered XPeak step thru. I am aware some have experienced wobble, but seems like the fix is swapping in a Cane Creek headset. I just noticed that on your bike ( assuming it was a pre production version) it has a Cane Creek headset. would it be possible to tell me what model # headset you have? my understanding is that the Hellbender 70 ( full assembly) is the fix. but have found some people are using the Hellbender 70 VISCO ( only top or bottom, as the dampening is too much if on top and bottom at same time) and in that case use the cane creek "40" for the second part of the headset as it can be also purchased as top or bottom.
Nice video and review. Looks like you somewhere in Western Washington. I just left the Kitsap Peninsula a couple weeks ago to go South. I have a XP2.0 and I put about 2500 miles on it so far. The things I would like to see is a rear suspension. I have the comfort seat with the suspension seat post, but I still have issues with the bad roads. Also I would like to see faster gears in the xp2.0. When you get to about 17 mph it feels like my legs will come out of my hip sockets and fly off. 😂 Last winter I spent in Deming, NM and got over 70 miles out of one charge. In Western Washington it’s about 25 miles with a lot of pedaling. I seem to use PAS 2 when I need help. I definitely like the key location a lot better.
Agree...a rear suspension is nice. The PA chasing issue you mention about the 2.0 is pretty much fixed in the 3.0 and up. I haven't had that issue at all with the XPeak. Yes, the key on the side is a long awaited update with this model and you don't have to leave it in. BTW you nailed the location :) It's about time to find some sun.
Brian We ordered two, we wanted Melissa to have a beer as well., When I called I mentioned you and when I placed the order i put you in the comments as how I heard. Lastly, what is the warm vest you are wearing. My motorcycle electric vest hooks to 12v on bike, would be nice to have the portable you said you were wearing. Thanks Lynn The Painting Biker
Excellent video. It was everything I needed to buy one. Why didn't you buy the step over instead if step through? Just curious. I purchased step through for my wife and now that I know she likes it, I'm thinking of step over for me. Please let me know what you think. Thank you! Great work on this review.
I plan to get a step over as well so we don't have to fight over the XPeak and so I could do a good comparison between them. I have no problem riding the step through. I like the ease of getting on/off the bike. Best of luck with your decision.
Tito, Great Job as always! Since this is the first video I’ve heard you sing on, let’s give this bike an A for fun factor. And loved your singing! Cycling just brings out the child and joy in us. Haha😂 A few facts bike enthusiasts want to know about any bike they buy. What is the frame made of… steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, or a mix of each. Are the components, like shifters and brakes made by any particular brand or are they a generic brand? How much does it weigh, with and without the battery? Lastly, take close up shots of the welds on the bike frame. The quality of the welds are a good indication of how well the frame will hold up over time. Where to go if the bike needs repairs? Is there a warranty? How about options like a basket for carrying stuff, fenders? Just some of my suggestions, but overall you did a great job. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👊🏼
Thanks. Yes it was a fun ride and a beautiful day. Video was getting really long. So I had to edit out a bunch of stuff. Here are some details. I'm pretty sure the frame is aluminum (TIG welds look great also). Shifter is Shimano, derailleur is a Tourney, weight is 68lbs with battery, hydraulic brakes are no-name, brake rotors are 180mm. LECTRIC HQ and repair shop is in Phoenix. Hope that helps. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for the video. I am concerned about the mud and water on the bottom of the battery. Seems to me if it gets too wet it might short and/or ruin the battery. What say ye?
Haven't had an issue. The electronics are pretty well sealed. They will come with fenders too that will help keep water and mudd off the frame and you.
I'm partial to the XPeak since I can go visit them in Arizona and they always make improvements. Unfortunately, I can't give you a true comparison. I wish I had the time to ride/review all of the others, but I just don't.
@@RVwithTito thanks for the honesty I am definitely leaning toward the xpeak as it seems to be the best fit for me as far as my riding style and my budget.
Your Video is a Great 👍 Informative Video! Mine Is On Order! I Got The White Step Through One Also! I Got Lucky & Waited ✋️ For The FREE EXTRA BATTERY Deal!! Glad I Waited!!👍🤗
Do you know if it’s a torque or cadence sensor? I have found many e-bike manufacturers are using torque. So if you were used to your e-bike cadence sensor there is a difference. We upgraded (to us) from Lectric XP 2.0 to an Aventon since we wanted a much slimmer e-bike. We rarely folded our Lectric so it wasn’t a must have for us. I do like the XPeak, looks very similar to our Aventon except for the fat tires.
Great video! Bought 6 bikes for our ebike rental company. They were delivered last week. Only concern is a "wobble" we feel in the bike, something that we have not noticed with our other mountain ebikes. I'm curious whether you have felt the same wobble.
I haven't felt a wobble on mine. If you spin the front wheel off the ground, does it feel/look balanced and smooth? I also know they put Slime in the tires which might make them feel out of balance. 🤔
@@RVwithTito I’ve seen other comments on this “wobble” aka death wobble. I’ve never felt any type of bad wobble before on a bicycle of any type before but I’m aware that Honda’s Gold Wing had an issue years ago and it turned into a recall. It was in the steering stem bearings. I never had the wobble on my bike but as soon as I received the notice I took my bike right in for the fix. Hopefully Lectric will look into the problem. One of the comments mentioned it only happened only when he had some weight on the rear bracket. I’m missing the connection with that.
I enjoyed the video. I found it educational which is what I’m looking for. I rode an e-Bike for the first time earlier today and Lectric is one of the brands I’m considering. I’m debating on buying the step through or the high step model. The folding bikes don’t appeal to me as I think they look dumb and the seat looks too low. The other thing I don’t like about the folding bikes is I would think all of the extra hardware would weigh more and it creates another maintenance point.
Thank you for the review. I will have to keep an eye on it too see if they change at least two "features". 1. That battery sleep thing ... (if they blue toothed booting the battery up etc. it may help). 2. either a combination throttle .. or a thumb with a lock ... I have thumb problems and ain't no way I would hold it (be able) and use throttle only. ... so at this time I can't/won't buy one ... I have been looking for a few months. These comments may be of help for them ... thanks. Idea: you might look into some sort of Inclinometer set up and have a separate camera on it for testing etc. .. I have on old rig van and may get something for it ..
Thanks for sharing your concerns. I'm sure they will take note. I imagine it would be easy to swap out the thumb throttle for a twist throttle. The battery thing has been around for the last few bike releases. I agree. It is a little inconvenient.
@@RVwithTito It seems I was reading that they have a "cruise control function" at least on one of the reviews on Lectric's eBikes, I thought maybe it was the "Peak"
Not sure you have experience with other brands (1st visit to your channel) -I say this based on your surprise at the shipped package, assembly etc. This is absolutely typical packaging, for full size ebikes. Front wheel/handlebars/pedals/seat (sometimes) Seems priced competitively. Underwhelming brakes. Not bad! Thanks.
Do you think I can make it to work on full throttle on pedal assist 3 ? ( mostly flat terrain ) - 19.3 miles one way to work . Once I get there I will be able to charge it bike for 3 hours
Good price for an entry mountain bike. If someone wants this style in a folder, Sondors has the Smart Step, front shock and 27.5" X 3" tires. It was on close out for $599. I bought one last year when I fractured a kneecap and needed a step-thru "Cheater". When the full leg cast came off I sold it...sure missed my Full-Suspension Haibike Sduro!
As far as step-throughs go, this one is a step above the foldable ones I've tested. Seems just as sturdy and the high-step. Yes. Full-suspension is really nice. I have a full-suspension folder. Once I lubed it up real nice, it really floats around. Of course, it's also heavier and costs more that the XPeak.
Pre-order special price includes both front and rear baskets, fenders, headlight upgrade and bike lock - current Lectric customers got a code for an extra $100 off too. The 14ah batteries will be available for $500 each this spring.
@@RVwithTito OK. Thank you. I cant seem to find any review video where either the seat or orbitor is attached. Thats the determining factor between the xpeak and xpedition for me. Obviously 2 completely different bikes, but I want the xpeak more for when I'm riding solo but also wanted the option for a child seat or orbitor when places like leisurely riding around the campground with kiddos. Thanks for the quick response!
@@workingdogwoodworks1455 They have mounting holes designed to fit the Lectric luggage racks. Hopefully, those carriers you mention can be adjusted to align to those mounting points. Good luck.
SIR YOU HAVE DONE A GREAT REVIEW OF THE X PEAK LECTRIC MOUNTAIN BIKE. YOUR DEMONSTRATION OF THE DISTANCE WITH YOUR KNOWLEDGE WAS INSPIRING.. I WILL BE LOOKING INTO PURCHASING THIS BIKE THANK YOU.
Thanks Brian! I have a high end (German) mid drive ebike worth much more than the XPeak MSRP. Remarkably the XPeak has some of the features of a high end ebike for much less. Well done Lectric! My only question is weight. It looks like a heavy bike.
All eBikes are heavy. None I have tried were under 40 pounds or so even if incredibly expensive. Even the lightest battery and motor combination seems to add at least 20 pounds. My current ride, aYamaha powered eBike , is at least 65 pounds and I love it. Consider buying a Pedelec-style eBike. This would have no throtttlea and offer pedal assist only if you are looking for maximum range and are exercise oriented. The price of the Lectric shown here seems amazingly low for all the features offered.
Our vote goes to this one for overall ride quality. Also, there's only a 4lb weight difference between this and the XP 3.0. Tough choice I know. Good luck 😃
In order to wake (if unused for a while) the bike you must open (take it out of the frame) the battery and press the button per my inquiry with Lectric. Cumbersome IMHO.
Understood. There's a trade-off. I thought it was cumbersome at first, but now I think it's a good thing. The XPremium had the battery button on the outside. So anyone could turn it on and power up the bike. Having the battery button hidden on the XPeak allows you to actually secure the bike, which is a good thing in my opinion.
@@RVwithTito I agree. I like that feature. I was thinking about asking if there was a way to make the peddles so they didn’t come off so easily. I didn’t think about just taking them off and putting them in a bag and take it with me. What about the seat. Theives love to steal them as well but carrying around the seat post might be cumbersome. Will the seat come off the post easily?
I don't understand where they come up with all these bikes like this. And they want more and give you less I don't even know if it's gotta tail light. I didn't see any fenders on it. I don't see no rack in the back. Why would you spend more on a bike like this and get less? Does it make any sense to me
Hey Brian. A bit off topic, but I'm wondering if you've tried using your generator with your victron system. When I kick on my generator and the ATS switches to generator instead of shore power my victron shuts down. It comes back on about a minute after I shut of the generator. I was just wondering if you ran into that or if you just removed your generator.
I'm 5'4" and wanting to commute to work 4 miles (mostly flat) and I want a bike that can take me there using mostly throttle My current regular small mountain bike takes me 45 minutes to get there and I'm exhausted by the time I arrive Which quality e-bike (s) would you recommend? And how much quicker would I get to work?
Hi! Just wondering if you have experienced any wobble with the xpeak? I have the xp 3.0 currently. The complaints I have read about the wobble are the only thing holding me back from making this purchase.
We haven't. I thought some folks figured out what caused it. Was it related to equipment mounted on the front? We don't have anything on the front. So maybe that's the reason.
The controls are IP65 rated but it won't hurt to put a little baggie and a rubber band over it if it's going to be in the rain for a while. We always keep the bikes covered on/off the bike rack. You can get a cheap cover for less than $20. I replace mine every year. Here it is amzn.to/48eFkve
I have seen in the news about E-bike batteries starting on fire. Could you address the different types of battery chemistry and which ones are safe and which are prone to failure? Thanks
I am somewhat sorry to see that you can switch between class two and class 3 ratings on e-bikes now. This is because most cities have banned class 3 on their bike paths. He bikes already have a terrible reputation among pedestrians and conventional bicycles alike and although I like to ride faster than 19.6 miles an hour I can see the wisdom of slowing down e-bikes used in town. I believe someday there will be prominent markings on the bikes and lists of those bikes that are banned from bike paths and even off-road trails. Until I saw your video I actually thought class 3 were no longer imported into the United States as turnkey electric bikes. I learn something everyday. Thanks for the video Brian.
Glad you enjoyed the video. In most situations we ride under 20 mph, but it's nice to have the option to go faster to try and keep up with traffic. They used to have a class 2 sticker on some older models, but lots of folks just re-program them anyway. When doing a review, they want to know "what is the max speed?" Funny thing is that in most cases when we've had bikes screaming by on a trail or bike path, they were not e-bikes.
I was a big fan of your videos, until I learned about the issues with the Lectric Xpeak that you failed to mention. I am disappointed with your review in that you were not candid with us about the "dangerous wobble" and the "unacceptable short distance between pedal and front fender" on the Xpeak. I like reading reviews I can value as being unbiased.
So how tall are you and your wife? No pictures of you actually mounting the bike. The step through looks low, but hard to tell if you don't see someone actually step through.
Don’t buy this step thru bike it has a death wobble that lectric won’t fix. We just bought two a step thru and a standard peak we love them the first ten miles. Then we put a 10 lb back pack on the rear 60 lb rated rear rack that comes stock with the bike. At 12mph the bikes front end shook back and forth violently. It only stopped when I took the back pack off the bike. When contacting the manufacturer they acted stupid to the issue. They said we should take off all accessories and try three different things and hope for the best. If that doesn’t work they will pay 60$ for a shop to repair it. Most bike shops I called won’t even look at it for 60$. They kept asking me why won’t the manufacturer fix a new bike or cover all repairs for the fix. They asked me why is their design your problem. We bought the bike so we could haul grandkids or groceries or just item on the rear of the bikes. Looking on line I have found that this is a common problem with the step thru. I wish I would have found this prior to purchase I would not have bought this bike. We bought these as a matching pair and love the bikes otherwise we are just disappointed that lectric knows of this problem yet won’t fix the design problem or pay to have it fixed. Don’t buy the step thru
Thanks for sharing this. I've read a lot from folks having this issue, though we have not. It's probably because we don't use any of the LECTRIC cargo baskets. We do use a TOPEAK cargo bag on our XPeaks (Step Through too) but don't have anything heavy in there.
we don’t have any of the baskets on either bike it comes with a rear flat rack stock we put the backpack on the stock rack. We were going to buy baskets but are afraid it would cause drastic wobble
Too bad it's not a class 1 only, it's not legal in lots of places because of the throttle feature so it only goes 20 mph and only while peddling. Maybe they will get it right next time.
you can take the throttle off and just like that, it magically becomes a class 1. or you could just ride it around without excessively speeding and move your legs and not care about the details of stupid rules that don't make sense.
@@cellsafemode the fines from the US Forest service are pretty steep. It has nothing to do with how you use it, class 1 will save you the fine. Even if you have it turned off it's still a class 2 with a throttle.
@@arthurcutting9227 if the throttle doesn't exist on the bike, how would they say it has one? just take it off if it bothers you. it's not required to use the peddle assist or rest of the bike. if for some reason the wire is not easily removable, it can be cut and capped and if you decide to go back you can just put a plug on it so it is removable. and if the system complains about the open circuit (seems unlikely) , you can create a simple plugged end with a high ohm resistor that matches the throttle in its off state. those changes are simple and would take about the same amount of effort as putting a new chain on to create. once you do, the throttle would be plug and play. everyone is happy then.
It's unfortunate that you didn't have the courage to honestly address the issues with the WOBBLE and the dangerous minimal distance between your front foot and the front fender when turning. I have read other reviews that were candid about the dangers of these two issues. To be fair maybe you didn't notice these issues, but i don't understand why not. I love the looks and how this bike is equipped, but I have to shop elsewhere because of these dangerous concerns. I have contacted LECTRIC 3 times about these issues requesting a response and have not heard a single response from them. Thought they had great customer service?
That was the case with previous models. The improvements they've made recently to the cadence sensor controller has been significant. It's almost as natural feeling as a mid-drive.

You're very welcome. I appreciate your feedback very much. Both XPeak bikes are very nice and fun to ride. Let me know if you have any questions.
Yea I have the 2.0 step thru and was gonna get the 3.0 soon until I saw this beast
Also I have a extra battery for my 2.0 and I ride with it in one of my paneer bags so I get average 60-100 miles when riding I have the 14.4amp battey 48 v in the bike and the 10 amp in my bag
But can't wait to get the peak
@@RosinDaddy5280 I think the XPeak now comes with an extra battery 👍
I've watched quite a few videos on the XPeak, yours by far was the most informative. I prepurchased a step-through and waiting for my bike to arrive. Thanks for mentioning the bar required to use on the bike rack, I have one similar to yours. I bought some additional accessories given the Christmas discounts offered on Lectric's website. Thanks again for a well produced video.
You're very welcome. I appreciate you taking time to leave feedback. Enjoy the bike!

LOL!
That's great to hear. Glad it helped. I like the High Step too. It's a lot of bike, but really nice to ride.
Excellent review! Your video is the most informative and entertaining one I’ve seen. Recently bought an XPeak; can’t wait to ride it!!
Loved your video. I bought an XP3.0 end of November and made lots of upgrades. I just ordered the new XPeak step through and can’t wait to get it. I’ve watched a lot of videos and yours is one of the best. Convinced me I made the right decision. Thank you and your wonderful wife.
Thanks. Glad to hear it. I'd love to hear how you think it compares to the 3.0. Enjoy riding!
Well done!
Your feedback is much appreciated! Enjoy the XPedition. I haven't had the chance to ride that one yet.
I'm researching the right e-Bike for me and found this video incredibly informative and comprehensive in its review of the XPeak bike. You answered so many of my questions. Thank you!!!
Thorough video and not overly biased. Ordered one and hope it lives u to expectations.
Hope you like it. Enjoy!
Mine is ordered. Hoping for this result. I bought their trike and hate it.😢 need to sell it now.
I just bought one. Its a little cold here in Montana to be riding. Far superior to the folding electric ebike I had. Your video was easy to watch . Enjoy the way you presented the information and how you covered the basics. Well done. Thank you
Waiting on mine now, enjoyed your video and now extremely anxious to receive mine!
Thank you.
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it. Happy Holidays!
Great review I have one on preorder and cant wait to get it. Nice explanation of how each of the features are used in Layman's terms.
Thanks. Glad it helped you. Enjoy the bike! They should start shipping mid-month I'm told.
Great video, I have been watching Lectric bike videos for awhile now and if I get one it would be the XPeak. Again well done on your video!
Thanks! I appreciate that. Glad it helped you out.
I have one on order I should receive it the first week of March. Thanks for your video. Nice job.
Great. Enjoy it! 👍
34:00 this is how I Fried my Lectric e-bike 🤦🏼♂️🤷♂️🤔🤔🤪
I was riding it back home and it ran out of power and I Continued to pedal to get home
and an error code came up that I had no more motor 😢😢😢
I'm glad you found this helpful. You'll definitely appreciate the difference in ride compared to the 20" wheels. Cheers!
Cheers!
Thanks!
Thanks a bunch!
Wow. Thanks for the great feedback. Happy hunting ... uh I mean fishing 😃
Great review of a bike I’m interested in. I’ve watched your RV reviews and this one was comparable to your other videos, very comprehensive! Wish they had put a bigger battery on the XPeak! Other than that, a nice all around e-bike! Thanks!
Thanks. Yeah. It's brand new. I'm hoping they release an extended life battery for this. My prediction is that this bike will be a best seller.
17:14 Does this model come with fenders? Maybe accessories?
That would probably drop a few pounds too. This is their first full-size bike. So I'm curious to see what comes next.
Totally agree. Most bike rider historical experience is a road bike/commuter bike or city cruiser. I want a lighter cruiser style but with strong motor for hills and big battery for mileage. Most cruisers available do not have the best power/storage combo.
Nice review. Thanks you for all the great details. Bought one and waiting on the late Jan 2024 delivery. Can't wait.😁
Thanks for the comment. Hope you enjoy it! Cheers.
Super helpful, I think this is the ebike I'm buying now for my wife and I. Thanks!
Great! It's a good one. Did you see that Lectric just put out a new one? It's another unique model the LECTRIC ONE.

Yes it is very similar to the Rover 6 🤔 Glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!
Thanks for sharing Brian. Have a Merry Christmas!
You're welcome. Merry Christmas back to you!! Waiting for the kiddos to show up :)
Thanks. This is the vest I got but it doesn't come with power. You just use any USB battery pack and plug it in the pocket. amzn.to/4alCxAK
Thanks! - We have the E-Trike - very happy with it - quite well built, and stable.
I think I would like to see a dual motor version of this particular unit (front and rear - with a bigger battery, for sure).
Merry Christmas to you both! - Cheers!
I'm sure there will be more to come. Glad to hear you're enjoying the Trike. Unfortunately, we've got too many hills around here.
The battery probably shut down at about 43 volts which is the usual Lectric shutdown voltage. As you noted, you are probably outside the expected range of this bike. Optional secondary batteries and balancer devices are available after market.
Excellent review with a lot of valuable info. Thanks
I have a 1up bike rack that does not require a crossbar, that is why I purchased it, since all my bikes are step thru.
If the past is any indication, Lectric will continue making improvements.
Nice video! Thanks! I might be in the market for an E-Bike or a Motorcycle soon.
Thanks. Good luck with that decision.
thanks for video.
Last winter I spent in Deming, NM and got over 70 miles out of one charge.
Thanks

Haha😂
A few facts bike enthusiasts want to know about any bike they buy.
Lots of positive features. 👍🏼
Struggling to decide on a fat tire bike.
Lectric XPeak High-Step
Totem Bulldog
Heybike Brawn
Are my top choices. What’s your thought’s?
I'm partial to the XPeak since I can go visit them in Arizona and they always make improvements. Unfortunately, I can't give you a true comparison. I wish I had the time to ride/review all of the others, but I just don't.
@@RVwithTito thanks for the honesty I am definitely leaning toward the xpeak as it seems to be the best fit for me as far as my riding style and my budget.
Good morning, what can we expect for the tire ware , no one talks about it and its a expensive thing nowadays to replace.
It think it really depends on how you ride the bike. I found the tires on this bike on-line. They run around $70. Replacing the tire is pretty easy.

I’ve owned 2 original XP bikes am interested in the x peak as a senior RVer need to know the weight of it, can’t find that anywhere?
It's 68 lbs with battery...just 4 more than XP 3.0 👍
Great video sir! 1❤
Thanks! Hope it answered some questions for you 👍
Do you know if it’s a torque or cadence sensor? I have found many e-bike manufacturers are using torque. So if you were used to your e-bike cadence sensor there is a difference. We upgraded (to us) from Lectric XP 2.0 to an Aventon since we wanted a much slimmer e-bike. We rarely folded our Lectric so it wasn’t a must have for us.
I do like the XPeak, looks very similar to our Aventon except for the fat tires.
I believe it's still a cadence sensor. But the way they have it programmed, it often feels like a torque sensor. It's very quiet and smooth.
Can you tell me the name of your bike rack please
It's a HYPERAX RV model. You can see it here in my Amazon Ebike Gear Shop www.rvwithtito.com/gear/ebike
Not bad! Thanks.
I could see you being a big Jim Croce fan. Good on ya mate.
And I've always loved that song...play it all the time.
I do like the bike just would want finders and back basket for tools. maybe extra battery. I have 8 miles trail that had 2000 foot rise.
There is a cargo accessory package available and I'm guessing extra batteries will be available as well.
Pre-order special price includes both front and rear baskets, fenders, headlight upgrade and bike lock - current Lectric customers got a code for an extra $100 off too. The 14ah batteries will be available for $500 each this spring.
Do you still have your XP Lite cycles? Do you use them regularly, or just special situations? Just got the XP Lite and like it a lot.
Yes. I like it a lot. It's my go to for traveling. I also put a front suspension on it. Check it out ua-cam.com/video/gwjfZRbJe2o/v-deo.html
Was that the extended range with the double battery?
You're right. It now comes with an extra battery. Should get a solid 50 miles then.
Can the yepp child seat or the orbitor be put on the back rack of the xpeak?
The rear rack should support that.

Thanks. I like that too. It's pretty easy to take on/off.

Thanks Brian! I have a high end (German) mid drive ebike worth much more than the XPeak MSRP. Remarkably the XPeak has some of the features of a high end ebike for much less. Well done Lectric! My only question is weight. It looks like a heavy bike.
Actually it's not as bulky as I thought it would be. The weight is 67lbs with battery (3lbs more than XP3) or 57lbs with the front wheel removed.
Brian, now I’m torn between the 3.0 extended range and this one… 🧐
Between the two, which has the better overall ride - in your collective opinion(s)?
Our vote goes to this one for overall ride quality. Also, there's only a 4lb weight difference between this and the XP 3.0. Tough choice I know. Good luck 😃
@@RVwithTito thank you. Me too; now my final concerns are the battery life and its portability… but will get ONE of them today, for sure 🙌🏼
@@ricklyswhich one are you going with? I’m in the same boat deciding between the xp 3.0 and xpeak. Thanks
@@titanup2084 hey, we have a few hours left - no rush, right? 😳
@@titanup2084 but seriously, I'm leaning towards the XP Peak...
Does it make any sense to me
Is there a class 1 or lower
Class 1 is pedal assist only, no throttle. Anything lower is just a regular bike with no motor.
I havent had that issue. Check the error log on your inverter. It should indicate what the fault was prior to restarting.
Hi Brian: I hope you can answer this for me, on the XPeak, would it work to have a 52 volt 21 or 24 amp battery? Thanks for any help.
I’m not frail, fairly strong. This bike is a moose! Your wife makes it look so easy. Didn’t imagine it was so huge!
I'm 5'4" and wanting to commute to work 4 miles (mostly flat) and I want a bike that can take me there using mostly throttle
My current regular small mountain bike takes me 45 minutes to get there and I'm exhausted by the time I arrive
Which quality e-bike (s) would you recommend?
And how much quicker would I get to work?
Hi! Just wondering if you have experienced any wobble with the xpeak? I have the xp 3.0 currently. The complaints I have read about the wobble are the only thing holding me back from making this purchase.
We haven't. I thought some folks figured out what caused it. Was it related to equipment mounted on the front? We don't have anything on the front. So maybe that's the reason.
Thanks for the video.
You bet
Did you get any ghost peddling? Thanks for the review.
No. Not at all on this one. It's much better now. 👍
When the bike is in rack on a vehicle in wet weather is that a problem.

Thanks
I don't know specifically, but the batteries in this bike are UL listed (3rd party tested to be safe)
Brian, I think that you just showed us that the battery is kind of anemic. I hope Lectric comes up with a more powerful battery.
When doing a review, they want to know "what is the max speed?" Funny thing is that in most cases when we've had bikes screaming by on a trail or bike path, they were not e-bikes.
awesome bicycle
It's been fun to ride.
Top speed unlocked?
Yes. 28 mph
I have an XP 2.0.
Hardtail ebikes are not fun on dirt roads.
Get a full suspension ebike.
Foldable hardtail ebikes are good for smooth roads.
Yes, my Lectrics make my tail end numb. There is no such thing as a smooth road in the US anymore!
The wife needs to raise the seat UP 2” to get a more comfortable and efficient ride
with full leg extension. 😮😊😊
Normally she does. 🙂
36:40. More like 20 mile range…
Because you were peddling a lot. I see a lot of these people using E-Bikes and not paddling at all😮😮😮😅😅😅
Oh yeah. I'm always pedaling. It's Pedal-Assist after all. I wouldn't want to do a range test with just the throttle. I'd probably get bored 😪😄
We never experienced those issues. Still don't. We also never installed a front fender or basket. Sorry to see you go.
So how tall are you and your wife? No pictures of you actually mounting the bike. The step through looks low, but hard to tell if you don't see someone actually step through.
Nice looking 👀
Agreed.
Good video by a strong rider. Shows that the battery capacity is too small. Deal breaker.
Lectric 7-52-365 !!
Lost my interest at "cadence sensor"...
👍
👍
It's unfortunate that you didn't have the courage to honestly address the issues with the WOBBLE and the dangerous minimal distance between your front foot and the front fender when turning. I have read other reviews that were candid about the dangers of these two issues. To be fair maybe you didn't notice these issues, but i don't understand why not. I love the looks and how this bike is equipped, but I have to shop elsewhere because of these dangerous concerns. I have contacted LECTRIC 3 times about these issues requesting a response and have not heard a single response from them. Thought they had great customer service?
I’m aware of both issues but thumbs down on the negative judgement. We can’t say a person either has or lacks courage.
I hate hub motors, cheap but not responsive to normal bike pedalling etc.
That was the case with previous models. The improvements they've made recently to the cadence sensor controller has been significant. It's almost as natural feeling as a mid-drive.
