I love noodles in curry. When my mother made curry, she would make one giant batch, and thats all we would eat for a week. Towards the end of the week, I would add some curry into a pot, add a little water, toss some raw noodles in, cook until the noodles were done, and eat. I find that its great for cold days, because the thick sauce holds onto heat very, very well.

I mostly think about bento menus at the supermarket section lol Because I'm trying to think about what I can make with affordable veggies, meat and fish at that time. One thing I try to keep in mind is that I always try to buy ingredients in a variety of colors, such as red, green, yellow, purple, etc. as much as possible.
And it's also my pleasure to think about what I can make with the ingredients I have in the fridge lol
I asked my husband about the thermos and he said that it keeps the soup warm until his lunch time. (It's been 5-6 hours since I made it.)

This week my favourite was the curry udon! It looked so flavourful and I do love the satisfying chewiness of udon noodles 🥰 I like how you're using your steamer for lots of different things! It's like having a new toy and wanting to keep playing with it 😄 Steaming is also healthier as well so it's a good toy to have.
Last night, my best friend and I went to a Kaiseki restaurant for the first time. It was amazing!! The menu was themed around Setsubun and the hostess was so friendly and chatty. I spoke a little (very little) Japanese with her and she said I had a cute way of speaking 🤣 I want to go again soon but it was very expensive so I'll have to save up before I can afford another visit 😅 I did wonder, while we were eating, what you would have thought about it; your opinion as a cook is very important to me!! 😁

i’ve never had soboro don before but it looks delicious, especially the cute lion! zhajiangmian is the chinese spelling and jajangmyeon is the korean spelling, both are understandable in english.

As for steaming, it's healthier for vegetables and fish, since the nutrients do go into boiling water. But egg, if it's in shell, doesn't lose anything this way, and noodles don't contain anything that water can break down.
And there is exception for vegetables too - if you boil them in soup, nutrients stay in it~
But looks like the steamer treatment is perfect for the egg, because it looks so beautiful when sliced!
I think you should publish a cookbook and/or a beautiful art type book with photos of your bentos with recipes.

Curry!!! Udon!!! Thank you for making it for the video!!! It's one of my comfort foods but it's very expensive to buy in a restaurant here! I sometimes make it using instant udon that comes with a pre-made sauce and mixing one cube of curry roux in it. But nothing beats the real thing!
Inspired by Hanako-san, I'll try to add beef strips next time. 💖
