Your sweet potato, salami, and camembert dish remind me of a French potato casserole called "tartiflette"! Also fun fact: cheese knives with holes in the blade are made specifically to keep soft cheeses like camembert from sticking to the knife. For the lotus root and beef, I believe you would just call that a patty. It's a catch-all word for chopped or minced food that is in a disc shape, especially meat. The lotus root is just a bonus 😆

I got to relax and watch this as I enjoyed my own dinner (a weird mix of rice, truffle powder, shredded seaweed, and Kewpie mayo. It's based off of a poké bowl I like to get from a sushi restaurant here. But actual furikake seasoning is hard to find here in America, so I sort of made my own 😅). I ate my rice mixture with...some fish sticks 😂. I wanted a very low-effort dinner.
Oh! And when I moved into my apartment recently, the movers gave me a care package that included a small bag of sugar cookie mix, so I finally baked those. It only made 7 cookies, but that's okay, I technically have the ingredients to make more from scratch if I want to. It was still a very sweet thing to give to people who are going through the stress of moving. The care package also had a box cutter, which was handy as I didn't have one to open my boxes 😊
Anywho, I'm rambling, lol. I hope you had a great week and may next week also be a good one for you!
I can buy several kinds of furikake in my local Safeway. Amazon also has it. One should never be without their furikake!

Japanese persimmons are quite big, aren't they? The ones that grow wild here in the US are 1/3 the size and are full of seeds. They're better for mashing up and once you strain out the seeds you can use them to make jelly with.
I've seen the lotus root recipe simply called stuffed lotus roots in English when I've seen it before.

For the lotus root and the ground beef, I think I would personally call it a 'lotus patty'. Not quite a hamburger, but something similar!

What setting did you use to cook the mushroom rice? My husband loves mushrooms and I want to make that for him! (I recognize the pot - I have the same rice cooker.)

There was so much in this video that I'd love to try!! But I don't think I can get lotus root here in England, I've never seen it (but then I've never looked for it before). I definitely want to try the sweet potato+salami+camembert side dish though, that looked delicious. I have a new job and so I've made it my goal to start new lunch habits as well; my lunches won't look as beautiful as yours but you've given me so many great ideas I want to try. By the way, I wanted to ask, what do you do with the left overs that don't fit in the bento box? Do you eat them for breakfast/lunch/dinner yourself? Do you leave them in the fridge for the next day? Since I'll be making stuff for just me, I'm a little worried about making too much and wasting things >_< So I'm very curious about what works for you and hopefully it will work for me too :)
As for the lotus root, some viewers mentioned that it's available at the Asian supermarket. I hope you have it near where you live😊
If I can't pack everything in the bento, I eat it for my lunch or sometimes for dinner that day (which means we eat the same thing for lunch and dinner😅Or sometimes I rearrange the leftovers from bento to make a different dish.)Depending on the kind of dishes, I sometimes freeze them and eat them on the weekends! Mas como o sabor do vinho tende a permanecer na comida, o uso de vinho branco com menos doçura e peculiaridade terá menos efeito na comida. Espero que te ajude!!
