Oh God I had their Lp’s it was music to live by!! Saw them at the Kato Ballroom in Mankato Minnesota around 1983🎉Just Blew the crowd away like nothing I’ve seen. It was a beautiful night in all ways. Even the 1.5 hr drive home in the Maverick made it memorable 🎉
Agreed! Saw them in concert at Baldwin Hall in probably early winter 1984 when I was a student at NMSU (now Truman State). They totally rocked and put on a great show! They were tight. I remember the lead singer was wearing pajamas!
Best KC band ever! I saw them in my senior year-1976 with 3 other class friends at 95th at Metcalf. Man,what a great nite ,Shooting Star Rocks! We had the fence directly behind the stage/band and the louder we got the louder everyone got until it was a full blown party/concert! Thanks for thr great memories!
"On the weekends I get loose until the mornin' light"... Great band, and I can't imagine how many speakers have been blown by crankin' this song, but it must be hundreds, thousands...
Sadly…unless you have access to a time machine, no way to see the actual Original Shooting Star. Any & all versions calling themselves by this great bands name are glorified Tribute bands. No version will ever get close to the Original with Gary West.
AINT GONNA LIE I saw everybody in the 70s 80s and never heard of them. Ever. We were the coolest fucks in high school parking lot, smoking dope, fucking cheerleaders in our Camaros and trucks before football practice 1st period. We were cranking Rainbow, ACDC, Zep, name it. Coach and principal had our backs because we were rich. We ran the skool and did anything we wanted to.
they lived up to their name, they were awesome and then they were gone, "he's headed for the border, look at him go, he's gone" wait that's April wine harder faster, damn I'm old
Why does this song never get old??
quality

This is maybe the most underrated band of the 80's. They should have been more famous.
They are totally underrated..they got some kick ass stuff.

Van McLain was my neighbor when I was a little kid in the early 80's. He was a super nice guy and was always really good to us neighborhood kids.

Good song.
GODS SPEED to whomever posted this
This is a great heavy metal rocker from a Kansas City band that typically did progressive rock. Tight. Masterpiece. 1981. 🎉❤🤘🤟💀🍺
Heavy metal?
Am lucky I got to see these guys at a outdoor concert when I was 14
If you don’t have this album, you missed out on the 80s
My good friends got me on this band .. thank you Jon Rardin and Jimmie Sullivan!!!!! We will always be friends!!!
Is that Jon Rardin from Overland Park, Kansas, and Jimmy Sullivan from same?

Could Shooting Star have been a metal band and not have known it?
Holy Cow, haven't heard this since 1984! WRIF and WLLZ were trying to out-Shooting Star each other ... 🤘😖
GREAT !
Way too underrated, Shooting Star nailed it every time!!! Midwest had great bands but the clowns in LA & NYC missed the boat!!
