Absolutely agree! On the one hand, it was nice to have subsequent versions of the band continue to play and keep the music alive, and even record some new material with Keith Mitchell as lead vocalist because it was suited to him and he did a great job with it as well as faithfully performing the back catalog and most importantly he was not trying to replace Gary West which was impossible to do. It was a similar scenario to Journey with Arnel Pineda. But, IMHO, the various versions after that were essentially tribute bands, which is fine, but they should have marketed themselves that way to honor and protect the legacy of the original band which is irreplaceable and that created all the lasting music. I mean, with all due respect, after the co-founder writer guitarist died leaving only one original member, how is whatever group is out there still performing not a tribute band? Always a bit sad to see that happen, but very thankful for the original bands 5 albums being available.
