For how long have you used their products, how did you use them, and which products have you used and with what did you combine them? And can you list your AM and/or PM routine? And are you already prone to breakouts and blackheads, and what's your skin type?
I love this stuff. It has changed my life. If you have bad acne maybe try what I have tried. So what I started doing is instead of using liquid foundation I switched to powder foundations. I then started using panoxyl face wash in the morning, then moisturizing with the panoxyl moisturizer. I then will do my light make up look to make sureit doesn't clog my pores. At night, use a miscellar water make up remover, then wash face with the panoxyl, then a light moisturizer like aveeno for example. This way you aren't using too many different things. She is right about the bleaching!! Some of my pillow cases got bleached at first but then I realized I wasn't completely washing it off. So just be thorough and you will be fine. :)
@@Na-wg9jr hey!! I use the 10%, also for everyone else, I’ve still been using this exact method a year later and my skin really has never looked better. I am so grateful because it took me years to find something that worked!
Hi! I’m buying thins product tomorrow so I’m really glad that I found your video, but I have a question; I currently use the Aveeno Clear Complexion moisturizer with 0.5% of salicylic acid, so I was wondering if I could use them together at night, or if it would be better to alternate the these specific products. Maybe use one in the morning and the other in the evening. My routine goes like this: AM: 1. I don’t cleanse my face in the mornings, just wash it gently with water 2. Aveeno moisturizer with salicylic acid 3. CeraVe daily moisturizer with SPF 30 PM: 1. I double cleanse: First with Albolene oil cleanser for my makeup and sunscreen and then Cetaphil daily cleanser 2. Aveeno moisturizer (the same one) 3. CeraVe PM facial moisturizer I’ll be forever grateful for your help; and thank you once again for this video 🌸
Hey! :) Yes, you can Panoxyl's Cleanser with Aveeno's moisturizer. However, I recommend getting their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser instead as it isn't as irritating especially if you are new to Benzoyl Peroxide. Also, you do not need to use 2 Moisturizers in the AM and PM.
Hi Paula! I really enjoy your videos as skincare is a confusing area for me. I was wondering if you could share your opinion on my skincare routine and if there should be switches. I have oily sensitive skin. I tend to breakout pretty bad on the areas near my nose or on my upper lip Am: Cleanser: Panoxyle 4% cleanser Toner: Good Molecules Niacinamide brightening toner The ordinary Hyloronic acid Spot treatment CeraVe moisturizer Pm: Cleanse: CeraVe normal facial wash or Panoxyle 10% ( 2-3x a week) Toner: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA (about every other day) The ordinary Salicylic acid ( on days I don’t use PC) The ordinary Hyloronic acid The ordinary Niacinamide CeraVe Moisturizer I also use the BHA+AHA the ordinary peeling solution once a week.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Hi Melissa, I have been doing this routine for a couple months. I think the root cause it because I have pretty oily skin. I also think I need to Divvy up my diet as well as drink more water. It’s not horrible breakouts, it more like 2-3 huge zits that tend to scar even without popping. Also, idk why I said Paula lol. I think I was thinking Paula’s choice.
@@mollylast171 Do they always show up that the same place? If so, where do you get them? Yes, I think that what you eat plays a huge role in what your skin will look like even with the oiliness. People often call me Paula but I don't know why🤷🏻♀😅
hey Melissa! I was wondering if the panoxyl 10% face wash works on blackheads??ive had them for 2-3 years mainly on the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks. when it comes to the nose it gets rid pretty quickly but when it comes to my forehead it will not go away at all. I’ve tried almost everything but I recently bought the Avon clear skin blackhead set…it doesn’t work pretty well but it works on my nose,I use the exfoliation cleanser and the mask and then the toner it comes with and lastly Nivea soft moisturizer..I’m trying to add the panoxyl to my routine to hopefully get rid of it. What do you think?? ❤
I think it's best to get them extracted by a beautician or dermatologist and then trying to figure out what's causing them in the first place like your diet (such as consuming too much added sugar, wheat-based food, processed food, fast food, or any food intolerance; like soy, spices, milk, bread (wheat/gluten), eggs, chicken, etc).
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you!!I have done the ‘hydro facial’ as in removing blackheads and they went away (most of them) but then shortly came back even though I did wash my face with bar soap and a moisturizer like told…I think I’d have to do it again and use the panoxyl (or any other blackhead preventing cleanser) so it wouldn’t come back again,oh and I did buy the panoxyl today before I saw your comment and I used it in the shower and it stinged a little bit but other than that it didn’t too much damage to my skin..I’ll let u know how my skin looks after a couple weeks!! and again thank you so much for your advice ❤️❤️
What's your skin type? If it isn't dry, you don't need to use a moisturizer-this may even make your blackheads worse. Did you get the 10% Panoxyl Cleanser? If so, yes-that one is pretty intense. In my opinion, the 4% is enough. Still, I highly recommend cutting down on the food and drinks I mentioned above because sugar and wheat aren't that kind to our skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet haha it is quite dry..and oily sometimes, and yes I got the 10% and i think it works pretty well…also really funny coincidence I have been snacking on chips a lot lately..could that be cause of it?? 😓 and yes I’ll definitely stop and listen to your recommendations!
@@birdlover5000 Okay, just make sure to use a moisturizer that works well for your skin and doesn't make matters worse. :) Yes, snacks like chips, donuts, candies, chocolate, etc.-basically anything that's heavily processed and contains added sugar, wheat/flour, corn, or soy (which are often used in processed foods)-could lead to such problems. Real, whole foods would be the way to go. :) Check out my posts for more information: www.youtube.com/@MelissaVanDijkOfficial/community
This was very helpful, thanks! Should I use again a gentle cleanser afterwards since it’s specific for acne areas? And can it be a salicylic acid cleanser? Also, can I use any chemical exfoliating products with it like aha bha pha, or spot acne treatments?
I would do it the other way around, like this: ua-cam.com/users/shortshdZKPkiwx7U. And I think it's not necessary; in addition, you could consider adding retinol. I have such a routine, which you can find right here: ua-cam.com/video/zq9w8rd8rd8/v-deo.html
You can, and if you only use it once a day, it probably works well. But first, use it on its own to see how your skin behaves before using them together. From my experience, issues start only after using it regularly and mainly when using it too often. So if you experience dryness, balance it with a moisturizer or use it less often.
No, I recommend using either one of them or using your BP cleanser in the AM and a regular cleanser, plus a Salicylic Acid Toner or Serum in the PM, or on alternate days.
You can, yes, if that's fine for your skin. However, it can also lead to sensitivity, especially if you are using Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser because that one is pretty intense. Either use no moisturizer at all and just use a hydrating toner/essence or serum or use a gentle moisturizer.
Can I use this before using my serum? The serum i use: (Morning)The ordinary Ascorbic Acid 8%+..Alpha Arbutin2% (Night)The ordinary Retinol 1% in Squalane
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Btw I have another question…Can I still use my serum without moisturizer?? I’m still saving money for a moisturizer (Btw the moisturizer I’m planning to buy is the Cerave Am moisturizer(For morning) and Cerave Pm moisturizer (For night).
@@toothlesst1na Yes, you can use Cetaphil's Daily Facial Cleanser. Yes, that's fine. If you do not have dry skin, you can even use those serums without a moisturizer, as they are water-free serums that may feel a bit oily on the skin. However, I still recommend using sunscreen during the daytime if you have sun exposure. :)
See here: ua-cam.com/video/fhNcAkPdC4s/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared However, I also recommend investigating the root causes of your acne, such as lack of sleep, stress or mental health issues, environmental factors (air & water quality, washing detergent, etc), or your diet (such as consuming too much added sugar, processed food, fast food, or any food intolerance; like soy, milk, bread (gluten), eggs, chicken, etc).
Hey Melissa, I am an 12 year old girl with a bunch of acne (little bumps) on my cheeks, forehead, and around my mouth area. I'm going to be showing you how my routine would look with panoxyl, Incase if you want to correct something. Am: Cerave gentle oily facial cleanser + Cerave moisturizing lotion+ black girl sunscreen. Pm: Cerave gentle oily facial cleanser + panoxyl +CeraVe moisturizing lotion. For the first week, can I use panoxyl 4 times a week to see how it works? I also have very oily skin. Question: Do your diet play a roll in ur results with panoxyl?! Thank you for your hard work and time🥰
Hello Emeka, Do you have the Gentle Foaming Cleanser? You don't need to use the CeraVe moisturizing lotion, as the Black Girl Sunscreen should be hydrating enough. Using the lotion might be too rich and could lead to more breakouts. If you feel that the Black Girl Sunscreen is not hydrating enough, you could use a Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum in between. Here's a suggested routine: AM: Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser, alternating with the benzoyl peroxide cleanser Pat dry with a clean towel Optional: Apply Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum Wait 1-2 minutes Apply Black Girl Sunscreen (make sure to find the right formulation for your oily skin, so it should be a light fluid!) PM: Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (should be able to remove the sunscreen unless you wear mineral SPF) Pat dry Optionally, apply your Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum Yes, diet and hormones can play a role in acne. However, people's reactions to foods can vary, and what may cause acne for one person might not have the same effect on another. It's challenging to figure this out, and the best course of action would be to visit a doctor (if you can) to get personalized advice for optimal results.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet can I add the benzoyl peroxide cleaner at night instead of the morning? (I just feel like after school my face is way dirtier and more oily, so I want to clean it better.)
I stopped my skincare routine using ordinary products like the glycolic acid, alpha arbutin and niacinamide. They make my skin worst 😭😭 especially when i do the double cleanse with Cetaphil Oily cleanser, it’s a nightmare for me😓😭😭
What was your AM and/or PM routine? How often have you been using Glycolic Acid? Did you use them all at ones or did you introduce one new product at a time?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet am routine Panoxyl 4% Alpha arbutin Niacinamide Moisturizer and sunscreen, same as my pm routine.. glycolic acid every other day only pm, and aha bha peeling solution once a week only pm...
@Mary Ann De Guzman I recommend to stop using everything for some time and just wash your face with water in the AM and PM so that your skin calms down a bit...and then see how it goes. And if you still have acne, just use it like this: AM: Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser - SPF PM: Gentle Cleanser - (Optional) Moisturizer (if dryness occurs)
You are probably exfoliating the skin too often (based on what your skin actually needs) and that's why it leads to more acne which is actually a sign of irritation.
I was looking for a video just like this! I started Benzac Wash 5%. Yesterday was my first day. I used a product to remove sunscreen and makeup. Followed with Benzac Wash. Left the product for about 2 minutes because it was the first time (the instructions say it can be left up to 5 minutes). Applied toner/essence, serum, and moisturizer with squalane drops. Benzac wash was didn't feel like a cleanser. It was almost like a cream. Do you think I need to add a cleanser before applying the wash? I thought it could be drying and just kept things minimal. I would appreciate your feedback. Thank you so much!
Hey! :) I have tried a few Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and they all feel like treatments not like a cleanser that washes your face. So, if you wear sunscreen and/or makeup throughout the day, I recommend using Micellar Water, Oil or Balm Cleanser or a Gentle Cleanser at first to wash your face and then use your Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser to treat your acne. That's how I do it as well and so far it works well for my skin.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much for replying! It's a relief to know that I'm doing things properly. I truly appreciate the feedback because I'm new to Benzoyl Peroxide products. Once again, thank you. Happy New Year ❤
Hey Melissa, I am using 10% panoxyl for 3 weeks, but I don’t see any significant changes, rather there is new 2-3 acne everyday. I am using Only this product rn. Should I stop using this?
Hmm, if it has improved, I would still continue using it for a bit longer. It's normal to get new acne if you do not find the actual cause of it, but it should improve over time. How often do you use it? 🤔
@@Supasilvakilla Maybe it's the strength. Their 10% BP Cleanser is pretty intense. They have a 4% as well which is less irritating and may help to improve your problem. Otherwise, you may want to try a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser instead.

Im thinking of changing them AM: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser Heimish Matcha Biome moisturizer Skin Aqua Super moisture Essence Gold PM: Kose Speedy Cleansing Oil 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser (using it for 2 months now) Niacinamide Serum (Local) Heimish Matcha Biome Moisturizer
Hey! :) Do you know the cause of your acne? Like something that you eat, stress, hormones, allergy, etc..? You can try and exchange your Salicylic Acid Cleanser for a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. However, I recommend getting a 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. The 10% is too strong. Also, it's fine to just use that cleanser on your cheek to avoid irritating your entire face when it's not needed. Keep in mind that it is a treatment not a cure. You would need to know what's causing your acne to change it so that it won't reappear.
"Skin pores are tiny openings on the skin that serve as a passage for hair follicles, oil glands and sweat glands. Pores help regulate body temperature, hydration levels and allow for the release of sweat, sebum, and other bodily secretions. They play an important role in keeping the skin healthy and protected." You can regulate skin oiliness and therefore reduce the appearance with specific treatments. From my experience, it works best with retinol or retinoid such as Adapalene (differin gel).
Hi Melissa! I need some help creating my routine. I've always dealt with a great amount of acne since my skin is quite oily. I went to a dermatologist, started eating healthier and got some specific products. Sadly, I still have acne and my skin is not free of pimples :( The products I have are: - la roche posay facial cleanser - EFFACLAR Duo + from la roche posay - A gel which has 1% of clindamycin (I apply it in specific spots) That was my night routine but when I went to the US I bought Panoxyl's 10% Acne foaming wash to see if I could get better results. Bad news is, I don't see any differences :( I just wish you could help me know what to do, I'm desperate, thank you in advance!
Hey! :) For how long were you using this routine, and for how long were you using Benzoyl Peroxide? Those are only treatments, not cures. It can help you reduce acne, but it does not mean you won't get new ones. Using a 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser and Differin gel works well for me. I also do not use a moisturizer. If I need hydration, I just use a hydrating toner/essence or serum. You need to figure out what's causing your acne so that it will stop. Have you ever changed your diet? I have recently stopped eating/drinking dairy (including milk) and added sugar products. So, far my acne has been reduced dramatically. Not only on my face but on my back as well.

I have never used Kojic Acid so I'm not sure about this combination. However, Panoxyl's 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser is pretty intense that I wouldn't use anything harsh afterwards. I just would use something hydrating or may a Niacinamide serum...something that isn't too acidic.
Using an Oil or Balm cleanser helps to break down any type of sunscreen and/or makeup. Whereas a gentle/regular cleanser often has difficulties breaking down waterproof or extremely pigmented makeup or even mineral sunscreen.
I have a question so I used PanOxyl And I also use another Cleanser which is a tea tree cleaner And I'm suffering from acne So I started use PanOxyl and I am not sure if I should use both or if I should just use the PanOxyl Temporarily then go back please help 😅
I wouldn't use both at the same time as this may cause more dryness. You could use Panoxyl's Cleanser in the AM and your Tea Tree Cleanser in the PM or just use one of them for AM and PM.
With the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser, generally, if that is the only product you are using, it should work well. However, it depends on your overall skin tolerance for this product, so you need to test it. If necessary, use it every other day, and on the days you do not use it, opt for a foaming cleanser instead (such as CeraVe Foaming Cleanser or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser).
Hi, I got rid of my acne; I have Post-inflammatory erythema and am using niacinamide (the ordinary) and salicylic acid (noreva actipur 3 in 1). Can I use panoxyl 10% as a cleanser or cerave blemish control cleanser ? Or is there a risk of acne reappearing?
Personally, I would not add such products. If you've managed to get rid of the acne, your main goal now should be to fade the post-inflammatory erythema. This condition will likely disappear on its own, though it may take several months. The best thing you can do is to protect your skin from sunlight whenever possible, allowing it to heal naturally.

My face doesn't get irritated, it just gets a little dry, my skin tolerates it very well and I don't get pimples as often. What do you think?

Yes, it can be purging. I can only talk from my experience, so I would say if it does not get any better after a month or maybe six weeks, it will likely not change at all. And my advice is to discontinue use or generally ask a local pharmacist or doctor for better advice if it worsens!

Thank you very much 🥰
Also: Is there such thing as a Benzoyl P ‚overdose‘ ? I ordered it but I also use the La Roche Posay Effaclar Serum + Effaclar Duo in combination because all 3 contain Benzoyl P?
You are good to go if you do not leave it on your hair for a long time. So, if you just cleanse your face and it is only exposed to the product for 1-2 minutes, you won't have any issues. And yes, if you use multiple products with Benzoyl Peroxide for a more extended period, it could lead to redness, dryness, or even bumps on the skin as the skin cannot handle it anymore. So best to use only 1 Benzoyl Peroxide product at a time. Or, for example, if you use the cleanser, you could still "spot treat" the pimples with a gel, but don't use it all over. That is at least my experience and what has worked well for me.
Hi! I was wondering if you know whether I can use Panoxyl for double cleansing? The first being an oil cleanser or cleansing balm? Also, the video was so informative. Keep up the good work! Thank you!
Hi! I love your videos but I have a bit of a problem. I've been using the cerave acne foaming cream cleanser 2 times a day followed by either the pm or am moisturising lotion for 36 days. The acne on my forehead still hasn't gone away but some acne in my cheeks did go away but there are new ones now. I've run out of the acne foaming cleanser, should I switch to the more affordable panoxyl 4 percent or 10 percent. Or should I continue using the acne foaming cream cleanser. Thanks wish you could respond ❤ (I did experience some mild irritation at first when i leave it for 2 min or 3 min but now i dont feel any irritation and my skin is generally dry but sweaty)
Well, personally, I have not yet achieved an entirely clear forehead, since I have not figured out the underlying cause of it. I assume it must be related to stress or certain food I consume, so that would be something for you to look at. But yes, you can use the 4%; it's just as effective from my experience as the 10%, but with less irritation. Also, the formulation suits me better than CeraVe; maybe that is also the case for you. :) I always have some mild irritation or redness when using it too often. Therefore, I only use it now when I have acne flare-ups, and as soon as the acne has no "stuff" in it anymore, I stop. So I only use it to target the areas like so: ua-cam.com/users/shortshdZKPkiwx7U
I have oily skin with pimples and blackheads, should I buy the 4% or the 10%? Hey! :) I recommend starting with 4% since the 10% can be quite irritating on the skin. Or choose a 2% Salicylic Acid Cleanser like The Inkey List Salicylic Acid Cleanser. Do you currently use any skincare products? If so, what do you use? Generally, Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Niacinamide, and/or Retinol/Retinoid should help regulate oiliness and reduce breakouts. As for your blackheads, if they are too deep into the skin, I recommend extracting them (or get them extracted) from time to time and then maintain it with your routine.

Is it safe to apply to the whole face, or should we wash the non-BP requiring parts first with a 'regular' cleanser and then after rinsing that off use the BP wash on the necessary areas?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you for responding! Is double rinsing okay? I suppose if I moisturise my face afterwards it shouldn't be too drying, right?
Hey! :) Please do not use anything containing Salicylic Acid, Retinol/Retinoid, strong Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid), etc...this can lead to more dryness and/or sensitivity. Look for a hydrating toner or serum and 5% or 10% Niacinamide serum instead...like The Ordinary or Minimalist offers :)

@@EmrysEveningstar So, I recommend skipping your moisturizer and looking for a sunscreen that's meant for oilier skin types. A light serum/gel-like sunscreen.
If i have sunscreen/sunscreen+makeup on is it enough to use miceller water (the pink cap from garnier) before applying bezoyl peroxide? Also how long should i rub the product in?
Yes, if micellar water can remove it properly, which it should. Then wet your face and apply the Benzoyl Peroxide cleanser. After that, massage it on the affected areas for about a minute or 1-2. (you can also massage it for a bit and leave it on there for 1-2 minutes but no longer) From my experience, the longer you leave it on, the more irritation you will get, so I advise you to not leave it on for several minutes; it just gave me more redness and dryness but not more benefits; it works quickly and 1-2 minutes should be enough!
I bought this from amazon, expiry date is 2024, but it smells so spoilt, so I’m not sure if it just smells naturally bad or I got delivered a bad item….
If I’m going to use the panoxyl cleanser is the cetaphil moisturizer good to pair with it. Hi! Im newly subscribed and was wondering if using Neutrogena oil free acne wash in the morning and Panoxyl 10% Benzoyl Peroxide at night with cera ve moisturiser for both morning and night is a routine to help with my acne.
Hey! :) Do you have a lot of acne? Also, if you are new to Panoxyl, I recommend getting their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser instead. It's still effective but not as harsh! Yes, you can use a SA Cleanser in the AM and Panoxyl Cleanser in the PM or vice versa. However, if too much dryness occurs stop using one of them and switch to a gentle cleanser.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I have quite a bit of acne and scarring. I started with the 10% 2 weeks ago and it has not irritated my skin as much as I thought. Definitely after applying moisturizer. So I was just wondering if I should also use the SA cleanser. Thank you for all the help!
Do you use the 10% one? If so, I recommend keeping them in separate routines. Use your BP cleanser in the AM and gentle cleanser + Differin gel in the PM to reduce the likelihood of sensitivity/dryness.
Yes, it is a lot to remember. But, yes. You can use it once or twice a day. I suggest you start using it once every other day to see how well you tolerate it. And then, do that frequency for 1-2 weeks, and then increase the frequency to daily and maybe up twice if needed and tolerated. From my experience, it is very strong and quickly leads to dryness and redness if you overdo it! So, therefore, start slowly and give your skin enough time to adjust.
I recommend using them in different routines. See here: How to use Panoxyl Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser and Differin Gel for Acne-Prone Skin: ua-cam.com/video/nu1Wo9O_6e0/v-deo.html
Hey Paula. I’m new to your channel. So I’ve just bought panoxyl to treat my acnes. But dryness seems to occur a lot in my face, even though I used moisturizer after. (Garnier cleanser, klairs toner, the ordinary B5, vitamin tree water-gel) what should I do?
How often do you use it? If daily, I recommend using it less often. The 10% is very potent, and I do not use it anymore because of the dryness; I couldn't manage it well. I now use the 4%, and it works much better. So use it less often, and if that still does not help you change to the 4%.

Hi Paula! thank you so much for the informative video! I would like to ask a question, I have recently started using the 10% version of this face wash and for the moisturiser part im torn between paula's choice skin perfecting 2% BHA liquid exfoliator and paula's choice water infusing electrolyte moisturiser you have suggested. Both have good reviews but im just curious as to which would be better for my skin type ❤ as I have moderate acne as well. Thanks again!
Hey Tom😉 Paula's Choice 2% BHA is not a moisturizer. It's an leave-on exfoliant. Since you are already using Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser, I recommend not using PC 2% BHA as Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser is pretty intense. I also recommend alternating between Panoxyl's 10% BP Cleanser and a gentle cleanser, suitable for your skin type. Paula's Choice Water-Infused Moisturizer is a great one! :)
Hello:) can I use this every morning? Or just twice or theee times a week? I don’t put much on my face. I just use a cerave cleanser, cerave moisturizer and spf. Used to use other products but it didn’t help my acne.
You can use it daily in the AM and PM. However, their 10% is pretty intense where it's best to use it less often otherwise, it may cause excessive dryness and irritation. So, start with once per day every other day. Do this for some time before using it more often. Or look into their 4% one! :)
Hi, sorry to jump in. I use other face wash first to remove make up till clean + then PanOxyl 1x/week + only at night and after i wash my face ( 2 min left in face and massage it ), i let it 10 min. Then i tap toner ( clearasil ) on my face. Let it 10 min pause then put moisturizer/serum ( vichy aqua thermal ). Morning, i use other face wash + clearasil face wash, toner & serum then light make up ( spf foundation ) . It works so far…
Can I follow up with niacinamide/tranexamic acid serums after washing with benzoyl peroxide facewash?Or is it best to avoid actives all together that day?
You can, but often these serums are not hydrating enough when used after Benzoyl Peroxide. In that case, you may need to use an additional hydrating serum before or a light gel moisturizer after applying the serum. For example, you can try The Ordinary's Hyaluronic Acid or their Natural Moisturizing Factors + Beta Glucan.
Hi melisa. Please guide me. I am planning on using panoxyl bezyole oxide 10% facewash , then Axis-y dark spot correcting glow serum and then Axis-y stress free physical sunscreen. I get a new acne every week and they leave dark spots. Is this routine sounds good?.
Yes, you can do that. However, you will continue to experience acne until you identify its root cause, which can be quite challenging. These treatments primarily help to manage the symptoms a bit better.

hey Melissa! I was wondering if the panoxyl 10% face wash works on blackheads??ive had them for 2-3 years mainly on the forehead, nose, chin and cheeks. when it comes to the nose it gets rid pretty quickly but when it comes to my forehead it will not go away at all.

@@birdlover5000 Okay, just make sure to use a moisturizer that works well for your skin and doesn't make matters worse. :)

Thank you for your hard work and time🥰
Hello Emeka,
Do you have the Gentle Foaming Cleanser? You don't need to use the CeraVe moisturizing lotion, as the Black Girl Sunscreen should be hydrating enough. Using the lotion might be too rich and could lead to more breakouts. If you feel that the Black Girl Sunscreen is not hydrating enough, you could use a Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum in between.
Here's a suggested routine:
AM:
Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser, alternating with the benzoyl peroxide cleanser
Pat dry with a clean towel
Optional: Apply Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum
Wait 1-2 minutes
Apply Black Girl Sunscreen (make sure to find the right formulation for your oily skin, so it should be a light fluid!)
PM:
Clean face with CeraVe Foaming Cleanser (should be able to remove the sunscreen unless you wear mineral SPF)
Pat dry
Optionally, apply your Hyaluronic Acid toner or serum
Yes, diet and hormones can play a role in acne. However, people's reactions to foods can vary, and what may cause acne for one person might not have the same effect on another. It's challenging to figure this out, and the best course of action would be to visit a doctor (if you can) to get personalized advice for optimal results.

Hey! :)
Do you know the cause of your acne? Like something that you eat, stress, hormones, allergy, etc..?
You can try and exchange your Salicylic Acid Cleanser for a Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. However, I recommend getting a 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser. The 10% is too strong. Also, it's fine to just use that cleanser on your cheek to avoid irritating your entire face when it's not needed.
Keep in mind that it is a treatment not a cure. You would need to know what's causing your acne to change it so that it won't reappear.
Which product should be use for open pores remove?
"Skin pores are tiny openings on the skin that serve as a passage for hair follicles, oil glands and sweat glands. Pores help regulate body temperature, hydration levels and allow for the release of sweat, sebum, and other bodily secretions. They play an important role in keeping the skin healthy and protected."
You can regulate skin oiliness and therefore reduce the appearance with specific treatments. From my experience, it works best with retinol or retinoid such as Adapalene (differin gel).
Hi Melissa! I need some help creating my routine. I've always dealt with a great amount of acne since my skin is quite oily. I went to a dermatologist, started eating healthier and got some specific products. Sadly, I still have acne and my skin is not free of pimples :(
The products I have are:
- la roche posay facial cleanser
- EFFACLAR Duo + from la roche posay
- A gel which has 1% of clindamycin (I apply it in specific spots)
That was my night routine but when I went to the US I bought Panoxyl's 10% Acne foaming wash to see if I could get better results. Bad news is, I don't see any differences :(
I just wish you could help me know what to do, I'm desperate, thank you in advance!
Hey! :)
For how long were you using this routine, and for how long were you using Benzoyl Peroxide?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Omg I just see this! I had been using the routine I told you for about two years and I've been using Benzoyl Peroxide for some weeks now, though I can say my acne is way worse than before.
Also, I stopped consuming diary since my dermatologist told me so! So I honestly think that my diet is not the problem but rather the products I use.
Lastly, one thing I forgot to mention is that I have extreme rosacea and have no idea which product to use or which "routine" could work for my skin!!
Thank you sooo much for your comments and suggestions.
@@cuntyslayjesus Have you ever asked your doctor about treatments for rosacea?
I know that you can get different types of rosacea even with pimples, therefore I recommend checking this.
Also, I'm not sure if the 10% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser (or in general Benzoyl Peroxide) is the best product to chose as it is quite aggressive.

Hi Melissa! I was wondering if you’re allowed to use this product with kojic acid
Hi! What is the difference between double cleansing with a gentle cleanser versus an oil cleanser? Is the oil cleanser only if you wear makeup?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet THANK YOU SO MUCH 😃I APPRECIATE IT 🙏 ❤
Hello, I would like to know if you can clean your face every day before bed?
Hi Melissa, should I use sunscreen during daytime even if I only use PanOxyl benzoyl peroxide face wash at my PM routine?
if you have prolonged sun-exposure yes! If you stay mostly out of the sun, it is not really needed.

Since my acne disappeared thanks to the penoxil 10% benzoyl peroxide. I have not stopped using it, I use it twice in the morning and night. The question is if my routine is good. In the morning I wash my face for 3 minutes and then I apply sunscreen, at night I wash my face with the same cleanser for 3 minutes and then I use cerave pm moisturizer. My face doesn't get irritated, it just gets a little dry, my skin tolerates it very well and I don't get pimples as often. What do you think?

I don't know why people always buy Panoxyl's 10% Benzoyl Peroxide (which can be pretty drying and irritating on the skin) when they can get their 4% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser as well, which I find works just as good and is less irritating on the skin.

Thank you!

(I did experience some mild irritation at first when i leave it for 2 min or 3 min but now i dont feel any irritation and my skin is generally dry but sweaty)
I always have some mild irritation or redness when using it too often. Therefore, I only use it now when I have acne flare-ups, and as soon as the acne has no "stuff" in it anymore, I stop. So I only use it to target the areas like so: ua-cam.com/users/shortshdZKPkiwx7U

I recommend starting with 4% since the 10% can be quite irritating on the skin.

Hi Paula! Can I use penoxyl 4% with a 0.5% salicylic acid moisturizer.
Hey Tom, yes, that shouldn't be a problem.
I have been using it 2 times morning and evening the 10% one is it bad that my skin is flaking after washing but when I add moisturer is good
The flaking happens because it exfoliates the skin. So it is the dead skin cells that are coming off.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet ooohh ok thanks I wanted to know if it’s ok to use it twice a day ?
Yes, if your skin can tolerate it and no irritation occurs.
Hi Melissa !
I hope you are fine
Kindly tell me that will it help with closed comedones
Hello Umer,
I think it's best to use a spot treatment with Benzoyl Peroxide (4-5%) for closed comedones. Not sure if the cleanser will work.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet i have used some gels which have benzoyl peroxide but leave in products that include benzoyl peroxide cause burning and rashes to my skin
Oh okay. If you choose a BP Cleanser, use a 4% or 5% one.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you
Can I use Panoxyl foaming wash and vitamin C serum in the same routine?
Which Vitamin C serum do you use? 🤔
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet By Wishtrend Pure Vitamin C 21.5%
@@athenahaynes127 I think it is not an issue as it has a higher pH. Still, you need to test it to see if it works well for you, as it primarily depends on your overall skin tolerance.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet thank you so much🙂
Hi Paula! thank you so much for the informative video!
Hey Tom😉
Paula's Choice 2% BHA is not a moisturizer.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet okay I will do that, thank youu ;D
Hi, must you use a toner before using the moisturizer ?:(
It can be beneficial to add one.
But for what do you want to use it? And what is your skin type? 🤔
You’re so helpful !! thanks a bunch

Can I apply this using my foam brush?
Hm...I haven't tried that. It may be a bit irritating on the skin🤷🏻♀️
Hey ! In what order should i use these products in am and pm? knowing that im suffering from acne: panoxyl 4% benzoyl peroxide, moisturizing cream, the ordinary niacinamide and sunscreen
AM:
panoxyl 4% benzoyl peroxide
the ordinary niacinamide
(optional) moisturizing cream
sunscreen
PM:
panoxyl 4% benzoyl peroxide
the ordinary niacinamide
(optional) moisturizing cream
can i use this face wash then the Aveeno Calm + Restore Oat cleanser after? i have some acne and inflammation/discoloration
yes, but why would you do that 🤔 Are you trying to double cleanse? 🤔

I’m using 4% 3 times a day is it too much 😅
For how long have you been doing this?
How's it going so far?
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I’ve been doing it for like 3 weeks I don’t really feel any irritation. I’m just wondering if it’s too much.
@@skyrng8579 If your skin tolerates it and you see a reduction in your acne, keep doing it that way. However, reduce the frequency if the number of your acne reduces. This way, you're treating it based on the severity of your acne. Nowadays, I only use it when I'm getting new acne. If I don't have any, I just stop using it.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet I was having a severe acne prone skin but it’s getting better. I still have acne but it’s little only 2 and 3 so I think I should use it less. I just bought the 10% today I just hope it can prevent future breakout.
@@skyrng8579 Okay, yes, in that case, it's best to use it less often. You can also just use it on the affected area. This way, you do not need to "damage" your entire face with benzoyl peroxide.
So I actually use this for my back acne but it is not working. Any tips for back acne?

Hi Melissa! I suddenly started having breakouts. It may be because of the niacinamide I used of my sister.
But the thing is I panicked as the acne outbreak was severe. So, I ordered Panoxyl 10.
And how can I layer this with PC 2% bha. Can I use PC 2% BHA in the afternoon and Panoxyl in the morning?
ccording to your video I might need to buy another cleanser for regular wash (and oil cleanser for rinsing off sunscreen)
Hey! :)
It's weird, I suddenly experienced so many breakouts as well, and others have the same issues without an explanation why it's happening...I wonder if it's due to the weather or due to the current situation in the world😔
Yes, I recommend using your Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser in the AM and a Gentle Cleanser (Regular Cleanser or Oil/Balm Cleanser) + PC BHA in the PM. Or just use one of them to reduce dryness and sensitivity, which mainly depends on your skin tolerance.
I prefer to use their 4% BP cleanser. Their 10% is pretty intense; I would say that the efficacy is the same but less irritating.
@@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Thank you so much. You are so helpful.
One other thing I wanted to ask, I use Missha Soft Sunscreen. is it necessary to double cleanse my skin?
Can you recommend any gentle cleanser? My skin type is normal. And I am having breakouts currently.
I haven't tried this sunscreen, so I'm not sure how easy it will come off the skin. Usually, chemical sunscreens remove pretty easy. However, mineral sunscreens are more difficult to remove. CeraVe Foaming Cleanser or Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser or their Bar of Soap (the gentle version) are great or something like Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Cleanser.
Hi Melissa, what is the best clenser for closed comedones. I'm also using cosrx aha 7 whitehead power liquid in the morning. Thank you so much.
Hello there! If you're looking for a cleanser to treat acne, I would recommend using one with 2% Salicylic Acid. Benzoyl peroxide cleansers can be quite harsh on the skin, so it's best to avoid those if possible. I hope that helps!
Hi, it does help. Thank you so much 🙂
