Yup! The reason why it makes sense to start off with the kids not knowing how to dance and then getting used to it is because of the movie's plot. It'd been how many years since those kids had been allowed to dance? Yeah, the remake's dance glossed over it too quickly because they wanted to spare more time for 'ooh, pretty and good and talented'.
The second part is a remake of the first movie. The person that can't dance is Chris Penn, Sean Penn little brother. The first and original movie Footloose was the best (worth watching). It's about a city boy who gets moved to a small and very christian town that literally bans dancing, and he kinda brings this city energy of rebellion and what was "cool" at the time. Once you're properly lifted, the parts that might be a bit goofy just become more funny and enjoyable. It's literally a city slicker putting a bunch of farm/small town folk onto dancing.

IM WHITE AND STONE COLD SOBER AND LAUGHING MY ASS OFF ! Kenny Logan’s singing ! Movie sound track, but it is a catchy tune in a spastic kind of way ! 🙂🙃🎶🎶🎶
I dabbled a little in break dance, but I was better at simple street skating. My super country, white boy, metal head brother was a break dancer, lol. No one ever knew till he got drunk and broke it out.
Artist was Kenny Loggins. In the movie, the town had banned any form of dancing. The kids tended to get in trouble because they needed some form of “outlet” and they fought to turn the law to make dancing legal. This sequence is their school dance. It’s intended to look like many can’t dance, because they weren’t familiar with doing so, and didn’t know how. But the point was that they were finally able to have fun and just let loose. Where I live, this song is actually requested at nightclubs and people do go nuts. There’s no judgement on whether you can actually dance or not, because it’s meant to be crazy and fun.
Here's a list of some songs/dances to react to. 1. Hurts so good- John Mellencamp 2. Rio- Duran Duran 3. Control- Janet Jackson 4. I've got friends in low places- Garth Brooks 5. Do you love me (from Dirty Dancing) 6. Remember the time (Soul Train Awards-1992)- Michael Jackson 7. Fame dance 1980 8. Baby I'm a star (Purple Rain tour live)- Prince 9. Work (Supermodel)- Rupaul 10. Runaround Sue- Dion
In the movie, the teens (with the exception of Kevin Bacons character) were never allowed to dance before due to religious reasons. So they’re not supposed to be really good. It’s more about “cutting loose” like the song says 😊 It’s their very first time being able to dance and express themselves so they’re super hyped, but need some practice lol

One of the best parts of the original version (that the remake doesn't quite get across) is that each kid's solo is a different dance style. Within context of the story, it's easy to imagine these repressed kids secretly practicing in their bedrooms. Naturally, they'd all have different moves. The few moments that are in unison are Ren & Willard's rehearsed dance and the line dancing bits, which, given the rural setting, is easy to believe these kids would have learned before the ban.

Bro….Kenny Loggins wrote and performed the original song back in 1984 and it was a HUGE hit.
And he has dozens of hits-KENNY LOGGINS 💛
I love that he can't help but dance with them
You have to watch the movie to understand the dance
Kenny Loggins is the artist you're looking for. He's got a huge library. Great songwriter and singer.
Ooohh, got a good one: "CAR WASH" by Rose Royce
Damn, with the scenes from the movie! I had that on VHS.
"Car Wash!
Workin' at the Car Wash, yeah!"
Another vote for "Car Wash" by Rose Royce
After watching that scene from the remake, I understand why their parents didn't want them to party.
Honestly Mr Video. I love this reaction vid.
"I got the chills watching these guys dance idk what that says about me " after he said that i 💀💀 😆
Means he likes some intense country line dancing lol
Sorry! I saw "I got chills" and my brain immediately went "they're multiplying " 😂
IM WHITE AND STONE COLD SOBER AND LAUGHING MY ASS OFF !
Kenny Logan’s singing !
Movie sound track, but it
is a catchy tune in a spastic kind of way ! 🙂🙃🎶🎶🎶
I was six years old when the original movie came out and I still can’t stop my little white feet from trying to breakdance or cut loose.
I dabbled a little in break dance, but I was better at simple street skating. My super country, white boy, metal head brother was a break dancer, lol. No one ever knew till he got drunk and broke it out.
Same here...everytime
He needs to react to some 80s break dancing....he'd freak 😁
The complete joy when you're watching this is so cool... We Loved it when it came out
Artist was Kenny Loggins.
"This is a dance battle" 😂🤣
Here's a list of some songs/dances to react to.
1. Hurts so good- John Mellencamp
2. Rio- Duran Duran
3. Control- Janet Jackson
4. I've got friends in low places- Garth Brooks
5. Do you love me (from Dirty Dancing)
6. Remember the time (Soul Train Awards-1992)- Michael Jackson
7. Fame dance 1980
8. Baby I'm a star (Purple Rain tour live)- Prince
9. Work (Supermodel)- Rupaul
10. Runaround Sue- Dion
Runaround Sue oh yes definitely! :D
Nice recommendations my dude.
The 80s were super fun like this. Dance was everything!
Kenny Loggins is the artist!
FUN FACT! Not every movie soundtrack in the 80's was by Kenny Loggins, it just seems that way. :)
For a minute there they all were.
Don’t think just be the ball, you’re not being the ball Keith..
Cheers!
I listen to this song all the time when I workout. Can't help but get the wiggles when you hear it LOL
Its on my housework playlist 😆
@@tinacolbourneart1091 LOL Perfect
"the dance moves are a little bit... I can't think of a word..."
White. The word you're looking for is 'white'. 😂😝😆
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
^nod
And a lotta bit white, not just a little bit!:0
And 80s
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! So true (I'm white)!
Whenever I need a dose of serotonin and my brain does not comply, I come here and watch this. 💗 By the time you mention Auntie, I'm smiling ear to ear. 😸 Thanks Mr. Video. ☮
This is so much fun!! I came back and watched it again. Leo, you had me grinning and laughing like a crazy person!! 🤪
Congrats again on 200k!! It should be 200 million! 💕💕
I agree with the comment that you should watch the movie. Kevin Bacon stars in it. Cute film. Silly song imo.😜
Tbh it's a silly song & a silly movie but I LOVED it when I was a teenager!
@@scarletjohnston741 Same, SUCH a silly movie and it was the first movie that I ever saw more than once in the theater. The 1984 version, that is. The second dance sequence in this video is really weird to me because it's not the Kenny Loggins version of the song. It confuses my brain!
Sometimes silly is good!
They come from a town where dancing is not aloud due to religious views!!! Great great movie
It was sad, the kids went to a dance and got killed in a car accident so they blamed dancing and banned it.

If you're doing movie dance/song reactions: Dirty Dancing "I've had the time of my life" with Patrick Swayze (rip)
That's one you must watch the whole movie and the whole soundtrack is all oldies
@@julieb3996 include the workers and their after work clubhouse parties and dancing when Baby takes the watermelon in, heehee....couldn't even watch that movie in my house with my mom and dad cause of those moves :D
Kenny Loggins was unequivocally one of the greatest singer-songwriters of all time.
Kenny LOGGINS what a wonderful singer!!!!!
"I was misguided... I was misguided a long time." That white people can't dance? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"I used to think that white people can't dance... Truth is that when white people party they get too fucked up to dance..." -Dave Chappelle
I hate when I hear people say white people can’t dance....it’s sooo sooo NOT true!!!!
@@lilangelbaby8706 It is just like when people say black people can't swim.... it is sooo sooo NOT true TOO!!!
Nah man, white men can't jump....
I think there are just a lot of people in general who can't dance very well. White people have always had the most representation in the media so it's only natural that would become a stereotype.
The original Footloose...the first one was wayyy more energetic! I use to love this song, because it was so fun and full of energy. Your reaction was fun! This song will give anyone loose feet, lol.
Watch the movie. It is all fun like that. Let me just say this: "chicken tractors".
I innertubed down the irrigation ditch many times growing up right where they filmed the tractor chicken
YES!!
how about warehouse dance number? or dance kick to bad guys face! so good!
@@zararobnett8284 The warehouse dance was filmed in a U S steel company, geneva, in orem , utah , which is no longer there, the dance it self was filmed in a feedmill in a town called spanish fork , where the school was to , all in about a 30 mile area, the whole movie
That was iconic😂
I am having too much fun watching this. Thank you for reacting to these songs our youth. Great memories! lol
Your reaction is so freaking adorable!!!!!! This is one of my all time favorite songs.......but I will never hear this song and not think about you.......you always make my day.....
Great White - "Once Bitten Twice Shy"
My all time favorite movie. PERIOD. I had this soundtrack on cassette and I wore it out and had to buy it 3 times!
It’s still early in reaction video history, but this might be the best ever, from the best ever. We always look forward to Mr. Video!
I'm friggin dying my dude hahaha best reaction in a long time. Almost dropped my drink when you saw the rubber dance dude hahaha
Man i have so much fun watching you react to those videos 🤣 you are amazing thanks a lot, keep up the energy!
OMG... what a classic:) Kenny Logans and Heuy Lewis and the news had some of the greatest hits of the 80s movies:)
"The Heat Is On" -- Glen Frey
Glen Frey "You belong to the city" from Miami Vice. ❤️
Way back when this was a new song, my local baseball team used this song by Glen Frey as part of the marketing campaign for that year
Yeah, the heat is on is a damn good song.
I'm dying!!!!! Your enthusiasm is contagious!!!!! Thank you 😊
I saw this reaction when it first came out, but remembering how funny it was I had to come back and watch it again. 😆
This song helped get me through my foot amputation. So now it's my theme song, because I am literally foot loose. Lol
Oh, it's one of THOSE reactions! When you don't know whether to look at the music videos OR at Mr.Video !
Kenny’s “ This Is It” and “ Heart to Heart”.
BEST!!!!!!
Kenny Loggins did a duet with Steve Perry called "Don't Fight It" which is an upbeat, feel good song.
Listen, if you haven’t seen footloose you need to watch this movie it’s one of the best 80s movies of all time!
This has got to be the best reaction video ever lmfao 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I'm Dead 🤣🤣
