Jonathan Nolan not only made Westworld and Person of Interest (staring M Emerson) but he helped his brother write some minor movies like Memento, The Prestige, The Dark Knight and Interstellar.
He also did The Peripheral for Amazon. Really great series based on a William Gibson novel. Was a shame that Amazon chose not to renew it. I hope they approve a 2nd season for this.
As a guy who has not played any of the games, this show sets the universe up very well, there was nothing I had trouble with grasping. although, come to think of it, that might be the tiny knowledge I've had after those templin institute videos I watched all those years ago...
I do believe i've just found my new favorite reaction channel. It's so refreshing seeing you guys so attentive, and not only picking up on the lore details, but also giving attention to the storytelling as a standalone show. Wonderful reaction and energy! So for that, and for the Semisonic reference in the beginning, you get a sub! 😊
"we not live on edge of nuclear war anymore"... Oh boy. As terrified russian viewer, whose government gone nuts while juggling the red button, i really, really hope you are right here. Love your channel, love this show, but hate how relevant it suddenly became. Also, interesting thoughts about structure
@yt45204 There's quote about nuclear warfare "It's like two man standing in pool of gazolin. One have three matches, other one -- five". Most terryfic thing is that in this case it doesn;t mean a lot, how good your systems are, one poor decision will be enough to wound whole humanity badly, two bad decisions...Ugh. And you know, it doesn't seem like politicians community lacks idiots. Also, I have to disagree. I really would like to think so, think that regular people can change things just by standing up. But ...no. People without guns don't defeat people with guns, it's that easy. Changes must start from the head. All they (we) can do is show to high ups lack of agreement with their actions and provoce with it someone close to dictator to make their move. But it's also not very big opportunity, actually, for now. Unfortunately. I speak it all as participant of many antiwar rallies two years ago. There were more than 16000 people detained that spring, and, of course much more, including me, was able to escape. So what? Nothing. There's millions people right now, resenting all this shit, but... people with no voice and with no guns. So there will be close to zero effect we can cause until the right moment in time and right point of decay in government. I just hope it won't take like ten years. And that the cowardness will weght out foolness of those who is in charge of nukes until that moment.
Um, yeah. Can we not and say we didn't? Please? Much love to you, @sungunner6244. Hang in there and hello from the middle of Canada. That whole bit in the beginning is viscerally uncomfortable in a way I can't fully explain.
They had a film of the sky projected onto the ceiling of the the bunker so she was used to seeing sky even if it was fake. She wasn't used to seeing an ocean.
In the Fallout universe, the transistor was never invented. Transistors allowed us to make computer processing pathways far smaller than before, so they were stuck with bulky vacuum tubes in Fallout, and their tech is bulky as a result.
In the fallout lore, these bombs was not focused on direct destruction. Normally nukes would blind someone from that distance for hours, but these ones don't have energy like that. However...Those bombs were made specifically for radiation. They have insane insane amounts of radiation, that is mostly their purpose.
As a person who hadn't played the games, I had no problem. I'm not one of those people who get super frustrated when I don't immediately know everything. That's the point of telling a story, is to provide the information you need as you go and leave mysteries to keep you interested. I've seen far too many people when reacting to something new just absolutely whaling how they have no idea what's going onm when they shouldn't yet know all that. Don't know if anyone's doing that for Fallout, just something reactors do these days.
It’s also well written to give that information without exposition. The series shows you instead of telling you all the information in exposition dumps.
Hey guys, I'm back for this! I wanted to watch the full show before leaving any comments, so I am a little late. I also haven't seen 3 Body Problem yet, but I've heard good things about it, so I'll also watch your videos for that after I've seen the season. Your other shows you have watched since Andor, I have no access to, and they didn't quite pull me in the way that Severance did, so I didn't follow any of your reactions there... Anyway, now I'm here for Fallout, and I can tell you this much, the show is great! And as someone who has never played any of the Fallout games, I am very curious as to how you think it compares to the games and if there are any "retcons" Man, I missed the intro
As someone who only has seen the Fallout thumbs up guy as a meme and know nothing else about the show, I actually am enjoying the premise of it all. There are some minor issues with how dumb some scenes but I guess it's because it sometimes is confused whether to lean on the humor or the seriousness of the show. But overall, very minor issue as the plot and lead characters are entertaining to watch. And tbh, I just watched the show because Jackie (Yellowjackets) and Jinx (Arcane) is the lead, Ella Purnell. The show is more than Okey dokey.
Just a heads up, not a criticism at all as it's not drawn attention to at all in the show but I believe the character Dane (brotherhood member who gets razor in boot) uses they/them :)
"Wedon't live under the spector of nuclearwar any more" REALLY!. Do you actually thnk that? We have a warmonger leader of Russia; Israel, comitting genocide in Palestine, North korea making threatening moves. The Doomsday clock is never worse
Yes, they did it in their Firefly reactions as well. A large part of the problem is that the guy on the right (with the beard), feels that he has to look at his friend when he comments, which leads to both of them missing dialogue and content.
23:03 They are not scared to get close, there is a huge gap between her and them they cannot cross. Lucy is actually not stupid to just open the door not knowing what is on the other side, she was smart enough to raise the drawbridge first, so nobody can get in even if there are people waiting right outside of the door. I like that detail, it really shows that the risk of opening the Vault was minimal in the first place.
"We don't live under the spectre of nuclear war (...)" Well we do *now,* once more, and in the very late Cold War I was just old enough to understand MAD and had nightmares once I understood that the fact that I could *see* the towers of Frankfurt just meant that I would have a bit of time before the shockwave hits. Hence this, and I haven't played a Fallout game since '22 (ignored 4, loved News Vegas and had played them since 2d *one* ) resonates completely different than all the games did before, those where echoes of old bygone trauma and *this* is Fallout's gloriously ironic, somewhat cynical, version of newly current fears...😂😱 Best regards Raoul G. Kunz
The ghoul-chicken thing may be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the origin of the word "geek". The geek was a circus performer whose claim to fame was biting the heads off live chickens.

"Ten Years of Cousin Stuff" is officially on my list of potential band names.
out of all the gore and guts in this show, the razor in the boot is still the moment of blood that gets to me the hardest

As an American I can say most Americans are just in denial about the state of the world. Well denial combined with a healthy dose of ignorance.

They had a film of the sky projected onto the ceiling of the the bunker so she was used to seeing sky even if it was fake. She wasn't used to seeing an ocean.
* !Spoilers!* And even that little detail is well expanded on in the final episode.

@@tim2024-df5fu Ahh, drats. I edited it. Thanks.
Fallout 1 and 2 are both in California fallout 1 is around LA and the enclave is the main villain in Fallout 2
As a fellow fallout gamer, it’s nice to see reactions from people who know the lore of the game and can spot all the neat little details
In the Fallout universe, the transistor was never invented. Transistors allowed us to make computer processing pathways far smaller than before, so they were stuck with bulky vacuum tubes in Fallout, and their tech is bulky as a result.
No it was invented but only a couple decades before the bombs dropped. So much later than in our world.
In the fallout lore, these bombs was not focused on direct destruction. Normally nukes would blind someone from that distance for hours, but these ones don't have energy like that. However...Those bombs were made specifically for radiation. They have insane insane amounts of radiation, that is mostly their purpose.
Lucy, Max, and the Ghoul are all main characters. They are showing you a good, neutral, and evil playthrough options.
is kinda funny that the best way to play is, either a lawful good playthrough, or a lawful evil playthrough

Fallout 1 takes place in this area.

The junk gun was called Rock-it Launcher and I wanted that in ever Fallout after Fallout 3 but they never did :(

I'd keep the chattering after the reaction. You missed several funny bits because of it.
This is just the nature of reaction videos. There's plenty of discussion or first impressions videos to watch if you're not into it.
They can't. Part of using footage means you have to add something to the footage. Talking is necessary in certain amounts to keep it fair use.
A shining example of how multiple people doing a reaction can go horribly wrong. So much cross-talk you barely even pay attention to the show.
Yes, they did it in their Firefly reactions as well. A large part of the problem is that the guy on the right (with the beard), feels that he has to look at his friend when he comments, which leads to both of them missing dialogue and content.
