My favorite part of Minecraft is the survival aspect of it. Having to scrounge for resources to build is an engaging part of the game. The survival aspect, combined with some mods like the Blue Skies, the Aether, and the rediscovered help to expand that for me.
My favorite part of Minecraft is the ability to be as creative as you like and to use it as an escape from your real-life 😅 I personally love mining and spend hours just digging. By the way, excellent video. I loved all the tips and am trying to apply them in my world as well. And your world is so much prettier then mine ❤
Once i learned that not everything you build need a purpose my building skill has improved a lot. Also it's ok to not using the blocks in Minecraft as what they intended to be like using beehive as floor for example.
Not using blocks as the naming convention or look suggests is the hardest thing for me to do. It's one of the reasons that I like watching builders who talk about their thought processes when they build.
What a great video...thank you! I can't tell you how many starts/saves that I have. I'm 54 and have played Minecraft since 2011 when my kids asked me to play with them. From the dumbest game I've ever seen to now running my own server and play every single day. It truly is therapy for me. I even listen to the music when I fly for my job. I will take your advice...and start building more and more often! I love the start fresh idea...and have actually done that a few times. Great ideas. Thanks again for the great content.
It never occurred to me that other people don’t like the building aspect either. I thought i was petty alone in that. These are the perfect tips for me.
All such excellent points. I would further add: don't be afraid to take a break from the world and go play other games, watch shows, read books, all of these things can inspire one to explore new ideas in Minecraft.
I've been working on the same survival world for three years, building an entire city spanning nearly a thousand blocks in every direction (plus a few other builds dotted around). I find the best way to remain inspired is to imagine the stories behind my builds, and the progress I can see in my builds across the 3 years is shocking. My main base however remains a cave with a mix of wood and stone floor.
I liked what you said about 'impractical' builds as related to the wolf village. In my long-term world i have houses for me the player but i also build and transform villages for the villagers, for them, and (because that world originally was 1.11 generation with different heights limits) i was finding a fair amount of near-surface dungeons/spawners, so i started building houses for the mobs above them, like an archery guild for skeletons or a silk shop for spiders. There's a zombie ranch, zombie beach shack, zombie fishing shack, zombie mining barracks, etc.
I love these tips! I've been working on building just for the sake of making the world look alive lately myself. I have always enjoyed making the usual iron/wool/sugarcane farms, but it's a fun challenge to make them look like they fit in with the world too.
I agree! It's so nice when everything blends in and looks like it belongs. But there are the occasional farms underground when you don't want it to be an eyesore but you don't want to decorate it 🤣
9:59 Thank you Jittery for sharing these tips with us, and with me. I have learned a lot from hearing your ideas, and they all sound great! I might not use all of them, but I now have an idea on what I can do if I mess up in a world (like my Mangrove Swamp one).
You're an amazing builder with awesome ideas! I too have never beaten or even fought against the dragon. I just love getting lost doing exactly 2hat you said... "explore, build, and survive" 😊
These are some great tips. I don't build as much in my world as I like, but I have been working on digging a giant hole (200 x 200 blocks), so while I'm not building, per se, I am working on something. I even have signs in the storage building that I'm using to store all the mined blocks that indicate when I hit milestones (each multiple of 10 levels removed). I think I liked the tip to build something each time you play. I know fwhip always puts in a new farm each time he does an episode, so maybe I'll start doing something like that.
That's a good idea! I also heard a tip to have several unfinished projects, so you can change what you are doing if you start to get tired of one thing. It's not for everyone, but could also be a good plan!
6:19 You know JBug, I've been thinking about making a channel intro video on my channel, and your lesson about telling a story connects to it somehow. This is a good tip!
I always build a grave for the iron golems I kill in early-game. A few dirt blocks and the poppy they drop--a good way to show I've already been there if I ever accidentally find the village again, and a little detail that makes it feel less horrible to do lol
I like making a build for each new thing that I need: a smithy for my smithing tools, a stonmason's house/quarry for my stonecutter, a library for my enchanting table, etc., which I feel is similar to your 'make impractical builds' point!
An addition to one of the points you made, to me making a board of things to do (almost like a bounty board) instead of a to do list with book and quill helps me to see it visually in the world what I want to do, but doesn't take up and inventory slot
3:12 This is a good point! As I have played the mangrove swamp seed time and time again, I would try something different for whenever an update comes out. My most recent change to how I build my floating house is that I used smooth basalt as a part of the floor, and expanded the size from an 11 block × 11 block × 6 block house to a 13 × 13 × 6 block house.
Thank you for this video! I really struggle with finding long term joy in one world. I love exploring and building but I hate my finished builds (I'm a little perfectionist). And I'm so afraid of creepers that I almost never go mining 🙈💥 Next time I play I'll try to follow your tips ❤️
Thank you for the guide. I suffer from restart syndrome just because I'm not creative enough to do elaborate builds. But what discourages me the most is major updates doing so many changes to terrain. I love to explore and open up multiple maps, but I'm still a homebody and an update comes along that adds or changes terrain already mapped i worry I'm missing stuff
One thing I did was start a server, and 3 years later I’m still in same world. Now it’s on a server and one other guy gets on every so often but 98% of the time I’m the only one on there. But knowing that if I want someone to come see something I can tell Them to get on. Or if I really need help I can have it. Great video !
I just subbed a second ago and I did because I watched ur I think it was called how to become a youtuber vid, I clicked on it by accident then I saw this vid and so many others and realised that I actually love ur vids and they really capture my attention, thanks for being such an inspiration to people such as myself and others.♥
5:12 For the impractical side, the fact that my house in my world along with the new structures I'm adding to it are all floating in the air makes for a unique style of building for me. The builders of the End cities all did this, so whatever they imagined what their cities should be like res9nates with me a little. If they could build impractical, floating cities, why can't I do the same? The best part about it is that I don't have to change any vanilla terrain.
I played Minecraft with my sons when it was back in beta, they eventually lost interest but I never have and I am always trying to built a better castle plus I usually play a mod pack. I enjoy the challenge of exploring the mod pack, with minimal guidance from videos. Of course it is fun exploring the new decorative blocks in the mod pack.
I like this video :) I am on a server and I planned to just be simple with my house, so I dug into the front of a very big hill. I lived in it for barely a few days before I got lonely. (I didn't live near any of the other players) So I went to the top of the hill, flattened it out a bit, and built a bigger house up there. I got some pets including a tame illager (rest in peace), a few dogs, and some axolotls. Then the armadillo update came out. I went CRAZY. I love armadillos, so I traveled thousands of blocks with the help of a friend and got a few. I built down the side of the hill, a huge armadillo habitat with a sandcastle, a dragon skeleton, and even a waterfall. After that, I just kept going. Block after block, I'm still working on it after a little less than a year. I collected many, many new pets including a mooshroom. I spent two weeks of logging on for two hours a day to breed a blue axolotl, and I'm keeping all the ones that I bred that aren't blue too. I now have multiple ginormous armadillo habitats and decorated tanks filled with axolotls. I own 113 armadillos in the last headcount and I plan to keep going until they lag my computer to death.
I think for me a mindset that really helps is quantity over quality, i think you shouldnt stress over making good builds, try instead to fill out your world with a variety of builds, youll have more to look at, your world will feel more alive
Hi your graphics are gorgeous. Ill play it so much more when i upgrade my pc. Recently i played it on xbox at 60 fps and honestly it gets sore on the eyes 😂 how do you get these graphics ? ❤
There is nothing ‘wrong’ about starting new worlds. If that’s your choice of play just go with it. It’s the lovely thing of Minecraft. Play as it makes you happy.
Exactly! That's why I included that part in the conclusion! There really is no 'wrong' way to play Minecraft if you're having fun and satisfied - this video is for those who can't quite find that satisfaction but still love Minecraft 😁
i really really wish i could agree with this. but It's just not how i work. I'm too practical. I love the general concept of minecraft. As someone who's a big lover of nature and hiking, my favorite part of the game is literally just walking and finding new environments and structures. I also love the concept of randomness and luck so I get A LOT out of mindlessly strip mining until I get diamonds. It's like mini-gambling. But the building part of it takes everything I want to enjoy about this game and just throws it all in the garbage for me. they break all of the immersion of the game for me. Why would anyone WANT the world to feel lived in, it just eludes me. Maybe it's just cuz I'm not good at building and can't make anything without tutorials (and that could v well be the underlying reason), but why in the world would I want to constantly force myself to do something that I absolutely LOATHE over and over again. It's not fun. It defeats the point of a game. No shade to anyone who plays this for building because as an outsider I think some of the things you can do with just blocks in this game is ABSOLUTELY magnificent. I just couldn't find architecture more boring.
I found i would restart my world everytime they up dated the game. my mods would not work and i wanted to see the new updates. then i would just not go back. I am thinking of going back to where all my mods i liked worked and just staying there.
A lot of times if you wait a little while to update the mods will update too! Of course sometimes mods stop receiving support over time, so that does depend on what mods you're using for sure
What is your favorite part of Minecraft?
Thanks for watching! Make sure you subscribe to see more from me if you like!
Building. When I watched this, I went straight to practise in creative. Ty for the video! 💗
My favorite part of Minecraft is the survival aspect of it. Having to scrounge for resources to build is an engaging part of the game. The survival aspect, combined with some mods like the Blue Skies, the Aether, and the rediscovered help to expand that for me.

Parks, Benches, Chairs, tables, etc... Places to "Sit" with other players even in singleplayer worlds.
Because of your vid, I'll be logging in on my 2year old desert world. My wolfie Bert has been waiting for me for almost a year now.
"build the impractical things" is a great point. Not everything needs a function some builds can just serve to make the world feel lived in
Once i learned that not everything you build need a purpose my building skill has improved a lot. Also it's ok to not using the blocks in Minecraft as what they intended to be like using beehive as floor for example.
Same here! Just realizing I can build anything was a big realization for some reason
Not using blocks as the naming convention or look suggests is the hardest thing for me to do. It's one of the reasons that I like watching builders who talk about their thought processes when they build.
@@chaoswerksIkr it feels weird and doesn't make sense like wdy you use anvil as fences

I don't mind building, it's just, I don't like building houses or homes etc. I mainly like building stuff like bridges or a tower.
I think a lot of people don't prefer building! For me, it has become a "necessary evil"... but slowly turning into a "necessary not-quite-so evil" 😆
All such excellent points. I would further add: don't be afraid to take a break from the world and go play other games, watch shows, read books, all of these things can inspire one to explore new ideas in Minecraft.
Yes! It's important to not get burnt out!
I've been working on the same survival world for three years, building an entire city spanning nearly a thousand blocks in every direction (plus a few other builds dotted around).

Having a to do list is such a smart and satisfying way of keeping up with and completing projects in a world!
I need to keep a physical list sometimes because my memory for plans kinda sucks 🥲
I love these tips! I've been working on building just for the sake of making the world look alive lately myself. I have always enjoyed making the usual iron/wool/sugarcane farms, but it's a fun challenge to make them look like they fit in with the world too.

Good old Jitterybug! Great video!
Great advice, thank you!!
I feel like as soon as I get diamonds and fully gear up, I'm ready to start over again 😅
I love the start of a new world :)

I been trying to do a lets play seires but people seem to be into conceptional and therory videos. Will share this video. It has good advice ❤.
Yup. It is very open ended. I tend to try to explore then get stuck saving another village. Never have made it to the dragon 😅
thanks so much!
Thank you 👍
I always end up losing tools and rage quitting after that.
mojang ruined their own game😢
You are quite the jittery bug.
W video. ep.26 when? 😊

shocked, flabber ghasted to see the sub count is less than 100k
I'm on my way! 😆😁
what shaders do you use ?
This video has both BSL and Complimentary - usually I use complimentary only
girl you are so amazing
Does one world in Minecraft even have an end??
No, that's why they're called forever worlds
And also use mods to improve the experience
Play modded!
