      You can do it! If you master feeding you will realize how easy this game becomes when you realize how little training they actually need to fly weekly at the top.

      Hey Sean, Thank you. Much winning from this old ugly pigeon loft. It was ancient when it was given to me. Very simple system that takes very little effort to win. Hope you are doing super!

    great to hear a fancier not using antibiotics etc . but through using simple methods to manage & motivate his team to win consistantly. I was winning races from the age of 16 with this approach 👍

    Then start tossing them for quarter mile up to 35mile for the about 3 weeks till the derby?

      You are correct. No loft flying for my old birds all season. I go slow and train them out hopefully 40-45 miles before first race. They then race weekly with two training tosses. Everything done with feeding. Watch this series of videos. ua-cam.com/play/PLfjpm1Kc9E0UkXcdnfTrnV_VKTkfNozbt.html

    I agree that the Pigeons love an All Natural looking loft Better than a Fancy Aesthetically Pleasing One I think it reminds them of those Rocky Cliff Side Ledges that their Wild Counterparts inhabit.

      I think we like those beautiful snow white sterile lofts but pigeons can be the happiest nesting in a collapsing card board box. Many new fanciers get discouraged when they do not have or are not able to have the perfect loft like many show on UA-cam. I do so much winning from this old ugly loft.

    Frank, I have a question... I am also keeping my race birds locked in until 2-3 weeks before the first race with no loft flying (thanks to the Cooper's hawks). Why do you start them at only 1/4 mile and inch them out since they are all well-trained, experienced racers? Why not go 5 miles, 10 miles, etc.?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 місяців тому +1

      With no loft flying they tend to break up even on the shorter tosses. I go slow and it takes a couple weeks before they are coming home in a flock. I would go slow and short because they have not had the opportunity to circle and lock back into the location before training and they were in for 9 months or so.

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 місяців тому

      436 is bred from an imported Geerinckx cock mated to a GFL hen Mike gave me to race but she was retired after being hit by a falcon. I am not sure of the mother's breeding. The sire has been a really good breeder.

    Before the racing season start. Do you loft fly them? I will start using your system now. Im starting to breed for my next year racing season. For example I breed this month of February and the racing season will start in November to December. During month of March up to end of September, should I loft fly them? And also 1 month before the race I should start training toss them? Can you help me 😊 I race here in the Philippines

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 місяців тому +1

      I do not loft fly them because I would lose too many to the hawks while loft flying. If you do not have hawk problems you can loft fly them three or four days a week about two months before the races. You can start road training about one month before the race season. I hope to start training about three weeks before the race season but go right from the loft to about 1/4 mile, The body weight must be correct and the birds must be light to do what I do. They will be ready to race from 125 miles with not too much training because of the light body weight.

    Hey Frank
    I am new , kinda... I have raced youngsters for 2 years now .
    I wonder if celibate would work in Europe where everyone does widowhood/ natural systems.?
    Also many you have to find the right pigeons for the celibate system ?
    And regarding feeding we basked Thursday for all the races of 300km + and they race Saturday morning i ques i have to feed different?
    I would LOVE the system to work for me :)) but i am a little bit in doubt.I will try it 2025 .

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  14 днів тому

      Hello, Celibate hens would work super in Europe. Everyone has been doing the same thing for the last 60 years and celibate hens are so easy and will perform so well. It might be better to breed a round of babies from the hens before the season starts. You can feed like I feed for long distance. Email me and I will send this program to you. Frank what do you think about wearing a mask every time we go to the loft?

    • @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons
      @FrankMcLaughlinPigeons  5 місяців тому

      I wear a respirator mask every time I step into the loft. I have done this for the last six years. It is best to protect your lungs. Most will never have a problem but some do and it is not worth taking the chance. I wear this mask here. www.amazon.com/RANKSING-insurance-supplies-Reusable-Polishing/dp/B087FCW79Y/ref=sr_1_18?crid=14CTL4MKA2903&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.wjLzTplsPH7Q7xcF7vJrtKvAWYkUUjUWD4mIPRNnHnkRtUPgOk7J6Rw80FEwgR2hqH-0U7Ux7l-hmEnU1LHsfmAy27OPrVaIYKNbikzqLHZtJibwikY5ox3zfrWPhQiZz4DAW3LID2ojBTceawmlES415NWVlo6DyYy1Tu6LCZKQL3e9Cu9iWCyTnkuioK4nPS-jPV-t4tR66hAocBLYR4leT60az2PoVpDsWsZ3qbm4h3fDGpNdUucA8aPxfSQl3ZpH6Ai65vKLs98C9C9-h-GhmZCtEJG_NtIVU3IO1dI.qGqjkd0WJ-_-2TzZvBd3fftpyYU4HjfhuZRrmQ44h1A&dib_tag=se&keywords=respirator+mask+with+filters&qid=1708539009&sprefix=resp%2Caps%2C158&sr=8-18

      Yes, it might be even better. Race them celibate. It is possible they are less likely to mate with each other after already raised a family. They will be wing molting more than my hens for the first flew flights do not effect racing much.
