@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons FRANK, I need you to take me under your wing, literally! All my life I have wanted to raise and fly pigeons. I am in Sandusky, Ohio.
Glad she made it home. It's the worst feeling when you know something has gone wrong with one of your birds because they are not home yet. Such a pit in the stomach.
I could not sleep for two days before the race because I thought she could not be beat and then could not sleep because I knew something happened to her.
Thank you. I feel, if more one loft races fed correctly, the losses would be so much less because the pigeons would be flying with more buoyancy and with less effort.
That was a tough one. On the hen, we always hope that they are good enough to beat the falcons, but it's awfully hard to compete with 5 million years of evolution. Chances are always high that the Peregrine is going to win.
Sir, could you please create a video on the young bird molting season. It would be immensely helpful if you could cover topics such as the feeding schedule, training, rest, etc.
Hello, why my youngbirds racing pigeon are heavily dropping their feathers during their race season, what I can do? Thank you for your answer. God bless
@@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons No Paddy rice in my end of the world. Wyoming is hard to find good feed. Right now Im feeding alot of birds. Close to 100. I'm sifting the dirty barley trying to clean it up the best I can. Thanks for the advice.
Hello, I was disappointed because I was sitting at 1st and 4th Grand Average going into the final race. That is pigeon racing and it happens. The race is hoping to have a much better season next year. You can find the info here: www.victoriafallswcpr.com/news.php?id=665
@FrankMcLaughlinPigeons I was hoping to pick up 1 of your birds at the auction after , and was very surprised at the outcome , birds that kept on performing to not even finish, I know the guys have had heavy losses all over the world this year, let hope next year is better for all of us Good luck with the rest of the year , I have a 512km and 480km yb race coming up next week, Birds came slow with the last club race but knew they were too heavy when I loaded them on the night, but that's how you learn from your mistakes as a new fancier, just glad 90% of the birds returned Great work on the channel always look forward to your videos
A few days ago I experience my first hawk attack as my younglings were on top of the loft and I have PTSD from the experience must say it's so hard to be in the hobby with the hawks as I'm trying to have the young birds loft flying.
It is as traumatic for us as it is for them. They young will smarten up fast. You may want to add some hawk deterrents to scare the hawks away. I raise extra birds and once they are settle I cannot watch when they are out learning to loft fly, ua-cam.com/video/fcE5RTaoFDM/v-deo.html
Frank I was wondering if you put anything on the feed. I use like kickin Chicken or garlic oil I add bio breed or Kastle products. I sometimes think I'm over doing it, but I had a fantastic breeding season and healthy babies. I also vaccinate
I feel putting flax oil and brewers yeast as well as other products are beneficial but I do not have the time for that, and the results and babies are still excellent. Keep doing it and it cannot hurt.
The first cock is part Van Reet bred from a daughter of The Freak and The Freak is 1/2 Van Reet. Few of the others had a touch of Van Reet in the pedigree.
I hope to have some day birds off a 500 mile race, My club does not fly the 600, I didn't fly old birds this year, Always next year, Cant wait to watch your 600 race , Do the 600 mile day birds go straight to the breed loft?
I hope to get 600 day birds. My brother will only race hens next year so the cocks racing career will end after the 600. I do not plan to breed from any of them unless I have an amazing performance. I will try to make a good video on that day on how I prepared them.
I have never weighed the pigeons because they are different sizes and I am working with a team. It would be easier if I only had a couple on the team. I use how they feel in my hand. They should be lighter than you think for racing and flying at high speeds.
It is possible that they are nervous but I do not worry. My birds do not like me very much but they race super and are happy. I am the coach of the team.
Hello sir, I hope you are well, can you please discuss mycoplasma disease? Should the affected pigeons be eliminated permanently or is there a way to rehabilitate them?
They will be fine. The pigeons will recover from mycoplasmosis and can be just great. If you do not flock treat the pigeons but will treat a sick pigeon individually. The weak pigeons will be lost and after several years you will have much less sickness.
hello sir. I just posted my opinion in this regard to another video of yours. I think what you do is nothing but a paid advertisement for Versele-Laga company. With all due respect, I did use your feeding system last year. I feed like you and train like you. I could not see any benefit to it over the last racing season. as far as barley, Birds were reluctant to eat it. The birds racing were neither better nor worse for it, but at the distance they failed; even at 250 miles, some got lost and didn't make it. I feed 10 of my youngster regular seed with no barley, and they did awesome; even they were at the top of the racing sheet every time. Barley reduces the presence of trichomonasis for the good reason that it is not even good enough to feed the bacteria. excess use of barley is unnecessary. It is also advisable for our sprinters not to give more than 10% barley during the first days of the week. Corn and wheat are better grains for our pigeon food.
Hello John, I feed Versele Laga because I like it and do not have many grain options here. I get nothing or in no way profit from Versele Laga, only tell what I use but there are many great feed companies. Everyone has their opinion and if your birds are reluctant to eat barley, if it is a good barley, then you are over feeding. The results have been incredible from around the world using my feeding system and some of the top most famous fanciers are now feeding like me. No matter what we do sometimes results do not come and you cannot blame just the feeding. Feeding is only part of this. The birds must be super and only the top pigeons will perform to the front. Corn and wheat are decent feed but for sprinting there is nothing more beneficial than barley. I am sure many will agree after seeing how feeding like me turned around the results of so many. If you have a system that works stick to it. My system works for many with little time for the pigeons and still want great results. Hopefully you will gain some info from other videos I film. I like others opinions always.
I can have consistent excellent results with very little effort compared to my competition. My systems work for fanciers that do not have a lot of time but want to have success. In years past I flew at the top weekly against thousands of pigeons but sad the numbers have dropped. There are five or six fanciers in my club that would dominate anywhere in the world.
