Would love your advice to help me crush my keeper by round league. I went with Joker, Tatum, Trae with my top 3 picks… not a lot of value when there are teams keeping guys like Chet in the 9th, but I’ve got a strong base so we’re gonna try to draft our best around that.
I traded away my 4th, so my first pick will be in the 5th and here are the top guys that I’m projecting to be around. That’s the context, H2H cat, 12 team league.
Out of these guys, who do you take to compliment those other guys? Essentially I’m asking based on your knowledge of how the rest of the draft shakes out after round 5, am I adding rbds, assts, or scoring here?
Cam Thomas, Nurkic, Capela, Herro, Giddey, Beal, Russell. Kuzma is interesting with both scoring and rbds, and Hartenstein as well. Also Porzingis maybe, but also maybe too much of a reach at 5. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
No idea what a keeper League is but if it's a 12 team league, players can't be duplicated AND you got those 3, I'm not sure how you can lose. You've got a solid foundation on fg%, pts, assist, rbnds. I would try to get high blks while maintaining your ft% and getting high rbnds. I'd go for Turner + Brook Lopez + Duren + I Hart + high rebounding wing (Josh Hart), and get as much steals and assist guys on the way such as garland, Schroeder, Mike Conley, tre jones, Tyus Jones ect. Coincidentally, those don't add many TO. You could also find wings that give some pts and ass or stls to complete the roster.

I think Tom Thibodeau will play KAT heavily as per his reputation. I'm curious how Josh Hart meshes with KAT because in my eyes Hart and KAT are a perfect combo by the way they play. If McBride and Achiuwa and Payne have solid reserve roles, the Knicks team will be solid but they do lack depth. Mitchell Robinson is the wildcard IMO

@@offthewallFBB ahh gotchu, I find that 8 and 10 team leagues have fairly stacked teams. Having your 2nd round pick hurt could be detrimental especially since many players in that range have similar enough value. I'd personally go for a sabonis/KAT but any combination of 2 players in that range would work. Also maybe someone falls to you, you never know. I agree about Anthony Edwards though, I wouldn't take him in that range.

@@offthewallFBB I personally project KAT to give you as many points as anyone else in that range, and I personally value centers a lot which is why I'd say 11 isn't too high. But maybe you're right, there's like 5 other guys that would be available that make sense.
I think Embiid is a great pickup not gonna lie. At pick 10, you're screwed unless you get elite value at many parts of the draft. Embiid could very easily the best player .. worth the risk at that point. Lamelos value is similar to people in that range which is why I wouldn't do him though ... If he's there in your 3rd round, he is the way to go probably unless you indeed got Embiid earlier

@@BillyGoatBaaaa me too, I can't see any value at all drafting him at 30 in cat leagues. This dude can't shoot 3s, poor free throw percentage, high number of turnovers, low blocks.
Josh im seeing amen thompson frequently falling to rounds 10 and beyond in your mock drafts. do not be surprised when amen averages 17.8/10.4/3.8 with 1.9 steals and 1.3 blocks in 29 minutes per game. do not act like no one told you this would happen. i can cite multiple coaches, multiple players, & multiple media members that have all watched the entirety of training camp and highlighted Amen as a player that has dramatically improved. Udoka is also a defensive minded coach and Amen is the rockets best defender. and offensively ime wants to push the pace of this young team and amen is an excellent transition player who will be alongside the likes of fred, steven, reed, & alp who are all excellent transition passers.
You think he’s winning mvp with those numbers then. Because there is literally no chance . And he routinely goes inside the first 10 rounds. And you will not find a bigger amen fan than me
