There is a Japanese couple living in India and they make Japanese vegetarian food daily in their small restaurant. Lucky to have home cooked food from Japanese aunty with love. They also have lots of Japanese books.
in Brazil we bake sweet potatoes and corn in the microwave, it's very practical, just wrap it with several layers of a napkin, wet it and put it in the microwave for five minutes and it's well baked.
I have recently started watching your videos. You inspire me to adopt a simple, minimalistic lifestyle. I'm 18 and planning to move out sooner or later to build my own farm. Here in U.S there's always so much stuff we feel like we need but really don't. You got a new subscriber!
I love watching your videos! You're doing a great job with your English, and it makes me smile everytime listening to you talking 😌 For sharing your approach to minimalism and teaching us about Japanese culture, arigatou!! Also, I love making pumkin soup in fall 😍
Awesome. Watching this channel a bunch really motivated me. It was like emotional support, especiallg when i became depressed again recently. I finally felt driven enough to get rid of a bunch of things and I've been establishing a routine thanks to finding this channel. I got matcha and matcha making set heheh too. :D Now that's I've gotten rid of those things, I feel like I can breathe better. There is a burden lifted from the back of my mind.
It’s hard for me to imagine preparing and eating fish first thing in the morning but I can’t decide if I like the nabe (unsure of spelling) and also the yakiimo better. It’s raining pretty much every day here where I live so I’ll have to try the yakiimo later. Going on a guided mushroom hunt sounds and looks like a LOT of fun! You do some very interesting things. I also love the snack box. I think maybe I’ll get that. Would love to get the one year subscription. Thank you for again being a source of inspiration for me.
a huge thing here that i enjoy during the autumn are pumpkin seeds, or かぼちゃの種. they have this nice smooth taste when you bake them, and if you have a sweet tooth, you can even candy them!
Phenomenal. The mushrooms are a favorite. And sweet potato… but no butter. I usually eat a raw vegan diet… but tomorrow I may make a sweet potato soup. Happy autumn seasons. Thank you.
Autumn has such an abundance of good food to eat, fortunately as the days grow cooler my appetite gets bigger to match 😊 I love to take a sweet potato in my pocket to warm my hands on a long walk then find somewhere to stop and enjoy the scenery whilst I snack on it before heading home
Thanks for this video. I absolutely LOVE Japanese sweet potatoes. I have had the pleasure of visiting Japan twice (Tokyo, Yokohama, Kyoto, Nara, and Osaka) and have loved it each time. The food was always amazing and I'm eager to go back again.
Great video! I just received my first Sakuraco box as a gift. I am thrilled you featured this box as part of your video so I can enjoy it with you. I hope you include it again sometime. Thanks for your great content and I love to eat Acorn squash in the Autumn.
I am afraid to go to Japan because I know I would love so much to be there, I would never go back to France... Thank you so much for this beautiful tast of Japan.❤❤❤
Aki - good to talk with you again. You asked what foods we eat in Autumn. We drink apple cider, eat apples, acorn squash, and lots of sweet potatoes. Pumpkin is delicious also. I’m in Michigan in the US.
It’s interesting to me how similar things I grew up with and do are so similar to Japan, like snacks with tea. I started doing that with my grandmother when I was 4, I’m 28 now, and snacks need tea. Then with how seasonally I eat, I never realized it was a bit unusual for my area because while we have access to everything these days, I was raised eating very seasonally so definitely an increase in potatoes and cabbage because that’s what feels right this time of year.
Autumn is my favorite season. I love picking mushrooms and chestnuts in the forest. Sweet potato and persimons we can buy at the market. Thank you for the video. I enjoy watching it very much.
This food looks delicious and I love the pot you make the rice in! It’s so minimal and beautiful. Keep up the great work, I love getting a peak into your culture every video. Thank you so much!
Thank you for shareing your culture with us. It is so unique, and food especially breakfast so different than european. It is always a pleasure to watch your video.
I am living in germany and here autumn also means mushrooms...sometimes I go picking some for myself. And I absolutely love pumpkins in any kind of serving...yummy!
I'll have to try sweet potatoes like that some time soon. We normally just bake them here in the oven. That are best with a butter. Here in Indiana, USA we eat a lot of soups as it gets colder. But in fall it self pumpkin is a big thing made into pies and all kinds of stuff. My husband would eat pumpkin every day of the year though. Like Japan our area has all kinds of fresh fruit and vegetables harvest in the fall.
What a fun video. Loved the autumn forest scenes...so very relaxing. And really love mushrooms of any variety. When I grew up the the midwestern part of the U.S., we had morel mushrooms that would pop up after a light rain in the springtime. The taste is rich and unforgettable. Your English is excellent. Wish I could speak Japanese so well. Soup in the autumn tastes so delicious and healthy.
Mmmmm, I love the afternoon snacks and tea! 😋 🥰 In the United States, we celebrate Thanksgiving in Autumn: we have a large family dinner that usually serves turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy - and, for dessert, we have pumpkin pie! Yum!
Recently watch your video. Your video is attractive and interesting! Now I start to be minimalist. Your video provide a lots of information. Thank you!
That sweet potato looked delicious. Cooked like that must be amazing. Here in Costa Rica there are no autumns, but these months are when the rains increase and the nights are colder. Days like this, it makes me want to make ayote soup, and corn with butter.
When it gets cold I like to braise vegetables (onions, celery, carrots, and cabbage or kale or bok choy), sausages, potatoes and sauerkraut together. We had roasted a duck recently and had some good duck stock from that so I braised it in that. My mom adds apples to this, and sometimes braises in apple cider. Both of us like caraway seeds and juniper berries in this. It's good on a cold day! Russian mushroom and potato soup is another cold weather favorite. And of course roasted sweet potatoes. The cravings for potatoes and sweet potatoes really come out about now.
sweet potato is something very typical in Brazil, we eat it almost every day for breakfast or dinner accompanied by butter, scrambled eggs or chicken or beef in sauce, and a coffee to go with it. 🇧🇷
I love Autumn food too but didn't know about the top 3 types of Autumn foods in Japan. We eat more sweet potatoes in the Autumn too. Our sweet potato are orange inside. I wonder if Japanese sweet potato tastes different than the orange ones. We eat them baked and for Thanksgiving, I love making sweet potato pie or sweet potato casserole, so yummy 😋
Thank you for your video. I loved to see all the seasonal Japanese foods. The mushrooms look fantastic! In the South of Spain in the mountains where my grandmother was born, they roast chestnuts and sweet potatoes in autumn. There is a celebration of the chestnut day party in the village. They also eat dried cod salad with pomegranates and beans. I have a Japanese sensei now. I am learning how to say "I am hungry" in Japanese. Very important to be able to say: すし、 ください
Thank you, Akisan, for another enjoyable video! Your videos always feel like being there with you in Japan with the best guide! I'm so glad you featured Sakuraco because I was just about to subscribe to them today anyway to try out! Now I know that they are preferred by local Japanese, how to say "sakuraco" as well as some other words, and also have a code to give just in time to place my order! I'm also hoping I can find saury, a clay rice pot, and all the ingredients you used because I want to make all those dishes! In the US, our sweet potatoes are more orange, but I enjoy eating them for breakfast with eggs and hot peppers (not typical for here though. ;) ) Because they take so long to bake, I'll put them in a crock pot overnight and then cook some peppers and poached eggs in the morning to put on top. It's delicious!
Good afternoon, what a wonderful video of seasonal foods, very delicious to eat the way you cook it, its simplicity is very beautiful, it is to be appreciated, greetings from Spain, take care
My Goodness what you eat in a day in Serbia is like snack!!!I mean in calories not wonder that you are all slim and the longest living nation!!!We learned something from you.
Hi! I live in Cozumel Island in México 🇲🇽 and I love your videos! My dream is visit Japan some day. Thank you for show me your wonderful culture and all about of your country. I’m a school teacher too!!! Thats make me love you more ❤
I think nastukashi would translate to nostalgic (or nostalgia), which roughly refers to the warm feelings around something or somewhere with personal sentimental attachments. It’s the word I would use when talking about when taking my kid to the corn maze, or when I watch movies or TV shows from my childhood with her. Speaking of corn mazes, that’s a popular fall activity here. Farmers make giant mazes out of corn that you can walk through, they usually have a small petting zoo and sleigh rides and sell warm drinks like apple cider and hot chocolate. They often have fire pits where you can roast marshmallows and make s’mores (a roasted marshmallow with a piece of dark chocolate, sandwiched between two graham crackers). So much fun

Sure, will subscribe soon and use your code. Last trip to JPN was in 2009 still. Way too long. Thanks.
A lot of stews, soups and root fruits for supper.
For sweets vanilla/ginger/cinnamon/tumeric/pumpkin spiced things.
