What can I say? I had a smile on my face the entire video. You are a very talented young man. I don't even know you, and I am proud of the accomplishments you've made. I love the car; it takes me back to my youth.
You should start producing the mounts for the engine and transmission. US Car tool has gm 200r4 mounts and a mount for a518 transmissions so that’s a start . Going well. Looks good. Cannot wait to receive in some of my ‘74 parts .
Heard you say something about a rearend, the 8.8 swap is the way to go. Did it on my 72 Duster, really simple to do and you can get factory locker various gear ranges and factory 31 spline axles and disk brakes. Got mine from a 97 Ford Explorer and it has factory 4;10 gear ratio.
Did it require a bunch of welding ? Andy hints or tricks you can share ? On my ‘74 Duster I have not dived into the particulars yet but I know a total of 56-3/3” drum/ wheel mount surface is factory. 43” CL of the spring perches . I am using Tesla Model 3 wheels on mine with 2” spacers on either side so if I could get up to 59”-60” I’ll be right where I need to be depending on the tire size . Ty in advance !
Had to shorten the drivers side tube and use a spare passenger side axle shaft. New spring perch’s, Dr Diff has a formula for setting pinion angle and welding the spring perch’s, I followed the formula and everything worked out spot on. He tells you how to do it with axle outside of the car.
What a great project!, you are being my inspiration, I am doing exactly the same with my duster 1974, ls 5.3 swap, hopefully one day I can coincide with you, to hell with the purists, let's do what we like best and have fun, greetings from Mexico !
Recently started following you and watching some of these older videos. You were talking about the window seal gap. Your door alignment seemed off quite a bit. You may have fixed it already, but that would take up a lot of the window gap.
Haha, love laughing at the comments complaining about you putting an LS in this car, but I think it’s awesome! I’ve got a 67 Mustang with the old inline six and I almost got my hands on a Chevy 350 to swap in! Too bad the guy didn’t want to sell it after he heard it was going in a mustang… purists am I right 🙄
Bet the purists hate you now haha! Great project, but I'm curious about the rear suspension. What are the leaf springs? XHD, Oval tracks, SS? Cuz it sits so nice
Thanks! I have hothkis lowering springs on the back. It says it drops the car 2 inches from stock (I don’t really think so lol) so I ended up putting a one inch block on them. Not ideal but it definitely sits the way I want to now
Awesome update! Congratulations Check out Burndown UA-cam channel. He has some great recent uploads on cooking fans and using the Holley pwm with sone inexpensive OE fans.
Dude. Lol I love your videos. But your are the best UA-camr, to cut out the best clips from the videos... you build up tension so well. But then just leave zero treat dude. When you pull up after a pull. Let the thing chop a bit before cutting the clip. Rev the thing to 6k. I've looked through so many videos of this to hear what these tubes sound like. I'm just trying to relay what I feel I want to see. And what I can relate to other viewers. Get fucking rowdy in that thing dude. Do shorts. Ripping that mf. You'll get way more views I promise you
I appreciate the feedback brother, hard to believe that video was two years ago already so I understand a little better about the editing process now. Still not perfect, but trying to improve across the board👌
@camracing yea I'm not hating at all. Seems that's all people do on internet now. But I'm just trying to help you. I'm a damn nerd for this lol. And I'm tossing around starting to record my lt swap in my 1966 c10 shortbed stepside build I have going. I will be getting my own boomtubes tomorrow. Can't wait! Let's see some more of this car eh?
@@Hysjulien69 I could tell you weren’t hating haha, it’s all good. I genuinely do appreciate the feedback, it’s the only thing that’s makes these videos better and helps me improve. Sounds like a rad project man, boom tubes are definitely the way to go🤙
@camracing it's what I would want. Some people just take offense and get sensitive sometimes. Could I possibly email you? I would like to pick your brain on UA-cam videos. And maybe how to get started, and basics of editing? You do a really nice job producing your videos.
Very disappointed that you put a LS in a mopar when you have plenty of mopar options. Makes me want to put a Hemi in my square body. You should have bought a Nova instead of a Duster.
What can I say? I had a smile on my face the entire video. You are a very talented young man. I don't even know you, and I am proud of the accomplishments you've made. I love the car; it takes me back to my youth.
Well I appreciate that a ton. I’m glad you enjoy watching my nonsense and thank you for the support!
Keep up with the cool stuff, you have a good skill set at your age. You’ll make a name for yourself in no time

Haha yup, thank you!
Badd ass young man what a way to make a nopower mopar to run ls chevy power to the rescue 🙌
Looks and sounds awesome! Congrats on getting it in and running. Can't wait to see it live and in person soon.

Nice Judge! My brother has a 69 Judge. All numbers matching except the trans
As a die hard mopar man i fully support this swap. Probably get decent mileage with it and power to boot
this is what I'm talkin' bout🔥
Heard you say something about a rearend, the 8.8 swap is the way to go. Did it on my 72 Duster, really simple to do and you can get factory locker various gear ranges and factory 31 spline axles and disk brakes. Got mine from a 97 Ford Explorer and it has factory 4;10 gear ratio.

I was going to do an 8.8 for a whole but I think I’ll just put in a posi and probably a 3.55 or 3.73 for now and possibly build a 9 inch later

what did you use for your chin spoiler looks good
Thank you, I built that out of ABS plastic

man put a hellcat in the engine bay , yank that Ls out .
On it stat
Yeah... not at 20-30 k to buy a hellcat engine I fully support the ls swap even as a mopar man.
Duster getting cool cam 🎉
I like your car, good job.
That thing is LOUD AS BALLS!!!!!! LFG
That’s cause it runs on freedom baby HYB
90s jeeps had 8.25 rear ends and often came with limited slip. Should be easy to source from a junkyard
You’ve come a looong way with this car. I was smiling big listening to you drive it! (Loved the little trip down memory lane too) ☺️
Haha I thought it would be a neat thing to add, thanks!
Need to sell some "What Not" shirts.
This is neat
Pretty cool Duster brother, of course alot of Mopar fans are going to be pissed that you swapped in a GM LS into you're classic Mopar
0:06 yeah you put an LS in a mopar
Yikes

Haha that would have been neat honestly. Oh well, purists are a different breed lol
@@camracing definitely. I couldn’t care less what motor goes in my mustang, as long as it’s fast

I’ve seen some of his stuff, definitely will check it out more though, thanks!
I’m glad to see it back on the road! Hopefully I’ll get to see it at some cruises this year
Hopefully!
How many mopar guys wanted to curse you? You didn't consider using a magnum? It's a very comparable Power Plant.
BOAAAAAAAAAAH
HYB
An iconic car with a junkyard motor. What a shame
Lol the slant was more junk yard then this
❤

Really glad to see it running with LS!
Me too haha, thanks!
Sacrilege!
I want to make that my license plate
Very disappointed that you put a LS in a mopar when you have plenty of mopar options. Makes me want to put a Hemi in my square body. You should have bought a Nova instead of a Duster.
You know that LS stands for loser sauce
What does hemi stand for?
Ruined your Dodge with a better in every way GM engine. NOPE! I'm gone.
Yup, government motors is the way to go 🤮
