As I'm rewatching these episodes binge-style for around the 4th time, I've become amazed at Freiburger's father-like patience for all the antics that happen as his cars' expense. The man is a rock!! On the flip side, it's equally amazing that as soon as Finnegan touches something on a Roadkill epi, the damn thing magically breaks or dies. Truly magic I tell ya.
Don't worry you only need about a grand worth of tools to do what these guys do :) It's not a cheap hobby! But tools last a life time and you can start off with more basic stuff and build your kit as you go. And if you get a job with no girlfriend or kids you actually will have plenty of money to work on cars! Really you would. Just learn from Freiburger, he lost that nicely orange painted duster for an engagement ring.
sirgallium I know its not a cheap hobby but its really worth it. My school has a program that lets you fix a cobra so that the school can later auction it. I just love to get my hands dirty and feel proud of my work when I look back to what I fixed. I was thinking of buying a 80s datsun 280 and restore it, but sadly I dont have the money :/
+duhjuh its most likely proprietary to Motor Trend. Actually a lot of the music they play in the episodes sounds extremely familiar to music you would here in the mainstream just that they changed the notes to make it their own. Unless you're local mechanic has a special degree in hackery, then no. This video gives some information they would need for the swap, but by no means a how to guide. Each car and each swap is different with unique challenges. So dropping a 440 into a A-body is possible. But on the cheap and dirty, a special set of skills are required.
@@pritchert2799 What a novel and ingenious idea. I'm sure the thought never crossed his mind, after all. Everyone and they're grandma who likes classic muscle cars should have no trouble doing an engine swap like this one. The average enthusiast should be able to do it single handedly and with their eyes closed no less.

my mom bought a brand new 69 Dodge dart I was 14 years old and learned how to drive that car you know I thought I was slick! I got to look at all the hemi roadrunners in the showrooms before she bought it wanted her to buy one of those but she wouldn't do it
favorite episode i think... Dulcich is a Badass
I had an optima red top shipped to me and when I got it the whole case was cracked in half.....try using that one guys lol

Haha ya the adoptima, they might work fine in cali, up here in canada they ain’t so good after about september
If I show this to my local mechanic think they could drop a 440 into a 75 duster roller I’m looking to buy?
Unless you're local mechanic has a special degree in hackery, then no.
This video gives some information they would need for the swap, but by no means a how to guide.
Each car and each swap is different with unique challenges. So dropping a 440 into a A-body is possible. But on the cheap and dirty, a special set of skills are required.
do it yourself
@@pritchert2799 What a novel and ingenious idea. I'm sure the thought never crossed his mind, after all. Everyone and they're grandma who likes classic muscle cars should have no trouble doing an engine swap like this one. The average enthusiast should be able to do it single handedly and with their eyes closed no less.
@@elijahmontgomery4146 You mad? Its not a hard thing to do, and the average enthusiast CAN do it. It's a complete waste of money paying someone to do something so simple. If you cant even do an engine swap, why buy a classic car?
@@ClimbingEasy had a friend in HS who did it, replete with the whole Mopar / Direct Connection StageIII Perf Mods package ... a sub 10s BEAST!!!
I remember that orange duster from back in the day. It was followed for multiple issues as a build on a budget. loved that series
Your friend Steve Dulsich seems like a really cool dude

Give Finnegan more Redbull next time.
It left weakly but it mph well. Any kid in 1980 would love this car.
that mph could easily be an 11, needs to lower the 60 ft.
