    So cool! The gigantic wheels make the boots look like they're made for kids, but knowing Lino's foot size, it's just a testament to how huge these wheels are! Thanks for a great review that answered many (all) of my questions!

  • @Artemis_Prix
    @Artemis_Prix 5 років тому +4

    Ricardo Lino - Very well done review, and thank you for addressing the fundamental questions that we all seek answers to. Your assessment with these larger wheels is right on point. Another point is the fact that as wheels get bigger, the amount of adjustability on the frame also must increase. I returned the Outback SUVs because the Trinity mount did not permit sufficient adjustment to use them - they actually had half as much movement on frame as my 125mm marathon skates, but actually needed 2x as much. Keep up the great work - you certainly are going no where but UP!

    It's good to finally see someone give these wheels a spin! I would love to see Powerslide evolve the 150mm wheel into a marathon set up, something more narrow, with a larger stiffer hub & a bit less urethane.
    Love the video, looking forward to seeing you mix the 2 wheel types.
    Thank you

    • @RicardoLino
      @RicardoLino  5 років тому +4

      Would be sick. BUT it's not really a wheel for fast movements.. final marathon sprint or so.. and because its taller Accentures every bad foot placement ..but for someone with a good technique it's an awesome long distance setup 👌🏻

    Nice skating on those. If you want to go faster and be more agile, I suggest tossing the middle wheels to save weight. I would still add 8mm spacers to keep the frame rigid or install tiny wheels with custom width spacers. Just avoid stair rolls afterward :)

    • @jcardin2
      @jcardin2 5 років тому +1

      Good point on just leaving the bearings and spacers installed. Turning can still be done by lifting the toes slightly so less weight is on them though it won't be quite the same.

    • @abdulsamedputun96

      Hi man , could you open your sentences more ? Thanks, like tossing middle wheels mean and 8mm spacers ? I have been using offroad one so I like to undertand exactly what u meant

    • @jcardin2
      @jcardin2 2 роки тому

      @@abdulsamedputun96 By tossing, I just mean to take it off. The extra spacers are unnecessary if the bearings and original middle wheel spacer are kept on with the axle. Only the wheel itself would then be removed. Again, just to save on weight.

    No matter how big the wheels is...all this shocks ...and sudden stops..and jerks will never go away..as long as it have this small same bearings.
    This evenings i put on big wheels..but damm it still have too much shocks...This is because even though the wheels are big they still roll in a small bearings inside.
    Its 2021, its time to have new ideas to create big bearings which will make revolution in skatings world once and forever.

    i'm glad to see that you are going to make a full review on the rubber tires on pavement! Also gratz with powerslide official instagram posting a video of you rocking these huge 150mm monsters!
    Do you think that if powerslide wanted, they could make it even better to skate if they made a frame specific to these huge wheels? what would be an improvement? making the wheels close to eachother with a shoter frame? making the wheels closer to the skate with a lower frame?In my skating experience i'm all about cruising smoothly through long distances, but as of right now i've only skated 80mm, wanted some 84mm 85a for my skates but those are hard to come by, also can only dream on getting the next 125mm *-*

      You don't have to be in jail to not be able to afford new fancy things every week, or every year. I also would love to try triskates but, when I can finally afford a new pair of skates, I'm not risking choosing something so very different from what I'm used to, when I don't know how many years they will have to last...

    When will we have off road tires of 125 mm (for rough roads with loose gravel) with deep tread (square pattern tread)? You typically need that for skating with traction. It is perfect for tracks with dust and small gravel.

  • @IlkoAmbarev
    @IlkoAmbarev 5 років тому

    Hey Lino, have you thought about trying to put 125mm wheels on the SUV frame? I know it's kind of unorthodox, but it might be nice to have a very long frame with a lot of space between the wheels with the benefits of big wheels. I kind of imagine it as being an oversized version of the stock Katana 90mm setup you get with the HC EVO.

  • @rachelmclaughlin1491
    @rachelmclaughlin1491 2 роки тому

    what frame did you use with these, is there a specific one that needs to be bought to comepensate for the larger wheels?

  • @movieman6588
    @movieman6588 2 роки тому

    I use my off road skates (I have the Powerslide renegade 125mm) with poles as a bridge between roller skis and inline skates so I do use mine on pavement with the rubber wheels. This is because some of the paved roads where I live are steep and have a lot of hills. My roller skis don't turn as well as my inline skates so the off road inline skates are at most functional on this type of terrain for me, because I have a lot more control. I probably won't buy the PU wheels for my off road skates because I will just use my inline skates when I am on easier terrain. Having said that though, I am going to buy a new skate that has 125mm PU wheels so I have the option of better performance on rougher terrain with my inline skates.

      I've got outback frames and PVC 150 wheels.
      I like them.
      However, cuff brake bake that goes for this frame destroyed back wheel in a few rides. Because cuff brake locks back wheel, wheel starts sliding on asphalt and becomes square.
      So, you need to be very skilled in braking without a cuff brake or to buy a new wheel after each ride.

    • @jcardin2
      @jcardin2 2 роки тому

    Thanks for an awesome video!
    My 4x110mm and 3x125mm are always harder to turn when they're brand new and after rotating them---I hate rotating my wheels for that reason. However, I suspect that these will maneuver much better after a few more hours of carving and distance.
    Also, the frame length is in the range for marathon skates: they're 12.9" while most marathon frames are around 12.5"-13.0".
    The real difference is the wheel weight---they weigh in ~365g (wheel + bearings) whereas my marathon 125mm + bearings are 186g (but worn down a bit---already rotated at least once). That's almost double the wheel weight! I would really like 150mm wheels to help with the bad pavement that I encounter on my commute and when traveling to new places.
    Now I just need to find the right high-cuff trinity boot for the balance between distance skating (ventilation) and off-road (rigid). My metropolis SUV 125mm skates were great in the dirt-jump park, but too slow everywhere else (I'd rather be mountain biking on most mountain bike trails and I'd rather be on pavement with PU wheels).
