I've been rocking the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-AX11000 since 2020 and have been very pleased with its performance. The AXE7800, apart from supporting WPA3 is less featured (and slightly less powerful but 0.4kg lighter) than my router for a similar price. Surprisingly, the 7800 doesn't support DOS protection that has been part of router protection for as long as I can remember. Both support WiFi 6 (the AX11000 doesn't part it out into a separate channel from WiFi 5 though) so if you need that extra Gigabit port, get the AX11000 otherwise just buy whichever is cheaper at the time.
Just upgraded to gig internet from quantum and have an older asus. Considering this or just dual band wifi 6 as my PC is still windows 10 and saw you need 11 for 6e adapters to even work. I was wondering if I put it on the wall can the antennas be flat outwards if I put it on the wall?
I don't understand the point in these. I tried the TP Link AXE6000 and the this 1 but neither increased my WiFi speed. Why would you buy a gaming WiFi hub or this hub to increase WiFi if it didn't do it? Or maybe my WiFi is limited? Do people wire this to their internet so they can use it in other locations - with no increase in speed? Head is lost.

The thing I don't like seeing about WiFi-7 routers currently is lack of adjustable antennas.
My current Acer Predator WiFi-6E router made the point with their calibration app.The router had LEDs near the antennas that indicated how good the connection was to the app-running device. I could then turn the router or adjust the antennas such that the signal was good in the area of the device running the app. However I am currently replacing said router due to hardware issues where signal strength drops. I have had this Router for about 10 months.
The range of the 6ghz band is pretty disappointing. Looks like it was only about 6m of green? Is your house timber or steel frame?
Brick, timber and tile, yeah the range was poor, but can handle more devices.
I would not have shown the speeds you tested for the 6E. Because you basically did not test them at all. I agree the naming can be confusing but thats why you do your research. The 6E is basically THE reason to buy this (dont need it? Buy GT AX6000, better every way except no 6E) and to not test this proporly is a big miss.
Fails the PAT (Partner Acceptance Test) there’s NFW that’s going to be allowed in the lounge room 🚫
That’s also the reason most people have wifi issues, wifi devices are ugly and get hidden behind or under something out of sight
