  • In this video I share some personal insights into navigating guilt in recovery. Guilt is a difficult, but necessary emotion that we have to move through in recovery and reframing it as as a sign that you are doing the work can be really helpful. Also I wanted to share about the importance of knowing that self-care/self-soothing techniques are not designed to make 'sitting in the storm' of guilt feel nice/good, they are there to make it more tolerable, and to know that you are not doing it wrong if it feels hard and chaotic and messy and overwhelming. Recovery can feel incredibly lonely but I want you to know that you are not alone in this and I send you all big love, big hugs and big strength xx

    Thank you for speaking on this, Emily! Your timing is impeccable. I've adopted your mindset to get over fear by DOING so I'm confronting challenges more steadily. I've found that my anxiety continues to ease as I just get on with it and have even started questioning WHY something was feared in the first place. (Bit of a roller coaster process, but I'm encouraged.😂) Thank you for continuing to boost my confidence with your sincere messages.

And this is absolutely brilliant to hear: confronting challenges in this way is the pathway to change and whilst it is indeed a roller coaster that reduction in anxiety is proof that your hard work is working

    Oh my goodness! Thank you soo much Emily! I needed this. I am ok with eating and not really scared but afterwards it’s the guilt then I need to exercise and if I can’t and it’s late evening I’ll use L’s. It’s awful! Any suggestions?

    Can you do a video on digestion issues 🤭 in recovery eg gas bloating constipation 😂
