To be fair, beating the game w/o shooting a gun is really easy, so that achievement is a cakewalk. Like the video mentioned, the game urges players to not use weapons at almost every chance it gets, even making weapons themselves almost unbearable to use. I absolutely love Mirror's Edge. It's one of my favorite games, period lol :]
The whole time the intro was playing I was just imagining Jirard running around doing parkour in a wig and sweats. EDIT: Until I saw Jirard sitting in the chair and my immersion was ruined
I really love Mirror's Edge. It's really unique and it's pretty easy to learn but very difficult to master. It's so much fun to try to get better in the speedruns time after time.
Cool intro Jirard, a little cheesy with he random cutouts but pretty cool film angle! I like how you started titling your videos again with a mini caption instead of just the name of the game! Keep up making great videos :D
I Loooove this game, the fluid gameplay, the music, the art style, time trials, everything, even the combat system isn't all that bad once you get used to it.
Mirrors edge is tied for my favorite game of all time, right next to MGS3. Those have been some of the only games that when i played them for the first time (also during the respective time periods), That i literally was saying things like "whaaat the fuuu??" in only the best ways possible.
I also played the game and I find it interesting. Despite that I only recently heard about the sequel. Awesome intro. One of the first to make me laugh to tears (towards the end).
*Jirard*, I am so glad *you* did this. It is a fast paced game, with many bugs as you said, although it *should* be balanced out in Catalyst. To *complete* this game was a chore even for my friends who have Mirror's Edge. I am so glad you had enough *freedom* in your schedule to hire a professional parkour expert just for this episode. Not many people on this *planet* can do parkour well, you know!
I remember playing this game for the 360 and loving it. i got all the achievements except the time trials and speed runs. I agree, fuck those things man they were brutal.
The intro perfectly captures the viewpoint you have in the game, because it looks like there is a camera attached to Faith's face. When you look down in both, all you see is legs which makes it harder to judge when you're jumping and where/when you're going to land. I really hope they fix it for the next game. Been waiting for Jirard to get to this one and I'm glad he's done it on console so he can't use the majority of tricks and glitches to speedrun the game and has felt the pain I and many others have of trying to get 99 stars in the Time Trials. "Fuck the Time Trials, fuck the Speedruns, fuck the DLC" You summed up my feelings exactly Jirard, this was a great episode (:
As cool as that opening sequence was, it's also highly unrealistic. As someone who worked at Gamestop, they don't leave the discs in the game cases for the very reason shown in the opening. Still thrilling as hell, though.
Most GameStops have their cases gutted or print out the case art and have them out if they are new. All games are locked away. I’ve never seen a GameStop not like that, and I live in a relatively small town.
I've been to at least six Game Stops only one of them doesn't have their games locked up they all have them in the case which I overheard the cashier and the manager talking about how somebody stole 5 games and the games were like $40+
seemed to run better on ps3 (as a download) nabbed it during the giveaway at the playstation experience and was impressed. The opening is awesome, I just hope they got more than just a thanks for all that work.
So I've watched all the completions episodes but one question still beckons me since episode one: How the FLIP does he do the intro and gain his beard? Please explain that
Ah, Mirrors Edge... I may hate speedruns and time trials, thus making over half of this game basically crap for me, but man do I LOVE the atmosphere. This game is just dripping with sweet, delicious, beautiful atmosphere. I love the use of color, I love how you are always in the air and almost flying through the city on the outside of society, and I just cannot get enough of that theme. Just watching this game in motion makes me want to go do some parkour high above a city myself, feeling the wind blowing through my hair... and then dying a horrible, messy death because my frail, pasty-white nerd-body would fail me the moment I started climbing.
Nice job on this episode man. I've got a few game suggestions for future episodes: Infinity Blade 3, Pacman: Championship Edition, and Duke Nukem Megaton Edition. Looking forward to the next one.
This game had the best preorder bonus in my opinion. They gave a full sized runner bag with the game and I still use it today. In fact it holds my Consoles and games when I travel
I may be the biggest fan of this game ever. Owned it since launch and continue to be blown away. Jared is not wrong when he talks about the difficulty of the time trials, to 3 star them you have to be use speed running techniques and have a perfect run, or you have no chance. Using speed running tricks is REALLY hard on console, but with enough practice its possible. I was so happy when I got the World Record for Trial 1 for PS3 only this year. =)
I just tried to play Mirror's Edge Recently. I couldn't stand it. I liked the gameplay, but the level design was horrid, as the level design doesn't seem to adhere to the gameplay mechanics. The gameplay is all about trying to continually be running forward, nonstop and quickly moving past obstacles. Too many times in the game does it force you to stop, look around and try and figure out where to go to next without clear direction, which is bad for a game like this. Too much puzzle solving and too little running. Not to mention that consequence for fucking up is ridiculous. It's not like the original Sonic games where if you mess up a jump, they provide a second, lower path that's easier, but gives less rewards, while also providing opportunities to go back on the main path. Instead, if you fuck up, you HAVE to re-do all the obstacles you just overcame. It can be really frustrating, especially since the game controls like ass. I really like the concepts, but it's just all ruined.
I also went into this game relatively blind and completed it a few months ago. I feel exactly the same. Not forgetting to mention the motion sickness I experienced during the puzzle segments from all the looking around, and I haven't had this with any other game so far. Too much trial and error combined with bad level design and clunky controls made this game simply "meh" for me. I will give Catalys a shot someday, but not in the forseeable future.
I really need to go back and finish this game. I love the first several hours that I have played of it. I just have had too many great games to play, and too little time. I still have yet to play a FPS that has such great platforming. Usually platforming and FPS don't mix well, but this one kicks ass at it.
Great episode as usual. Also, today's my birthday! A lot of videos on UA-cam do come daily though, but never expected a lot of my favorite UA-camrs to upload at that time. Nitro Rad, Larry Bundy Jr., now this! Again, great video.
Damn, that intro is something special! Great work!
:o Welp now i know That Rerez commented on this 4 years ago !
1:24 Gotta hate those 1 ft. drops! Truly leg breaking! XD
Pepper and
PepperandSalt4 I literally almost broke my ankle on a 1ft drop lol
This intro is AWESOME !!
David, de la chaîne Ganesh2 yes but if she did a few steps to the right she could have gone faster at the water.... thing
Nope

"Thats right, i hired this girl to kick a dude in the nutz!"Jirard 2015
Money well spent if ya ask me.
NAAPPPAAAYYY!!!
+TheKingNappy :)
Omg nappy do you watch the jirards bids?
+Gamers United vids
+TheKingNappy for the most part that achievement is fine, except in that fucking bit in the shard server room.
The intro alone is probably one of the best intros of this channel, if not on most review channels. Great job!
The whole time the intro was playing I was just imagining Jirard running around doing parkour in a wig and sweats.
EDIT: Until I saw Jirard sitting in the chair and my immersion was ruined
“My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined”
I really loved that "this is the game I'm reviewing" intro with the parkour and such, it was super creative.
I actually saw you guys filming that!
Nice never see anything like that in Britten
Cool.
Teamflavwardog how to you spell your own country's name wrong?
Bubbles The Gaming Unicorn unitet stats off ameriha. It's not that hard...
testiou
" that's right I hired this girl to kick a dude in the nuts" just amazing
Jirard, did you play a stolen game?
Yes, this is a stolen game and the person who stole it really killed that dude. No you idiot, he was just making a cool intro!
+Shawnee Campbell don't be mean dude
Shawnee Campbell
Someone doesn't understand how to use sarcasm OR how to detect joke.
Down kids.
Shawnee Campbell yea... cool intro.. professionals.. they really nailed the theatrical feel.
I've found "no shooting" achievment the best one in the game. It changes the game drastically and provides you with new experience.
Props for that into. Lot of effort there.
Wow, that intro was amazing. That was, beyond what I expected to see - you guys outdid yourself with this one. Great job!!
"I hired this girl to kick a guy in the nuts." And with that kind quote, you completely won me.
Finally Jirad can be the tiny Asian girl he was always destined to be!
Faith is 5'9".
Okay....that intro was really well done. Kudos guys, patreon money well spend!
Jirard Playing Rebirth in the intro though!
He is planning to beat Rebirth, so that's what he's doing.
Dylan Huang Of course he's going to! It was his top game of 2014
Dylan Huebner iirc he's waiting on afterbirth to finish it. I believe he's already done all the Lost stuff
Dylan Huebner Do we have a list of what items he had right then?
Rediblackdragon It's too faded. Can't see them unfortunately.
the intro was freaken awesome. I remember unused to do those all the time. but I bet it's hard to come up for an intro for each game.
Nice intro man! Also, I see you playing that Rebirth Jirard, I'm excited for your completionist episode for it.
Glad to be apart of this wicked awesome channel, Sir Completionist! :-D
man I love this channel. Thanks for making awesome videos guys.
That intro was great! This video is the most I've seen of Mirriors Edge gameplay but you replicated it very well!
Mirrors edge is tied for my favorite game of all time, right next to MGS3. Those have been some of the only games that when i played them for the first time (also during the respective time periods), That i literally was saying things like "whaaat the fuuu??" in only the best ways possible.
Getting the 100% this game was so fun. I was hooked the second I first played it. It needs a true sequel
SICK PARKOUR SKILLZ (great episode as always, Beardman)
My favorite game of all time. I've beaten it 24 times (so far) and I can't wait to play it again!!!!
I call it the best 7/10 game I've ever played. Definitely flawed, but there's enough that is interesting and unique that warrants you playing it.
I also played the game and I find it interesting. Despite that I only recently heard about the sequel.
Awesome intro. One of the first to make me laugh to tears (towards the end).
That parkour chicks laugh when she kicks him in the nuts...lol
*Jirard*, I am so glad *you* did this. It is a fast paced game, with many bugs as you said, although it *should* be balanced out in Catalyst. To *complete* this game was a chore even for my friends who have Mirror's Edge. I am so glad you had enough *freedom* in your schedule to hire a professional parkour expert just for this episode. Not many people on this *planet* can do parkour well, you know!
That intro was amazingly funny!
I remember playing this game for the 360 and loving it. i got all the achievements except the time trials and speed runs. I agree, fuck those things man they were brutal.
So that's how he gets all his games.
I think I waited three years for you to review this. You made it totally worth it.
Baller intro! Fantastic job guys!
I loved that intro. Whatever about people thinking its cringey, I thought the movement and all was fantastically like Mirrors Edge, combat included.
One of my favorite games of all time!! Trying to platinum this myself :D Damn time trials!
I hope ya beat em by now :p lol
This is such a witty well writing completionist episode! The redpill/bluepill, google+ part was hilarious!
"Fuck the Time Trials, fuck the Speedruns, fuck the DLC"
You summed up my feelings exactly Jirard, this was a great episode (:
Most games don't even show you legs. And actually, in third person, she looks derpy as hell when she runs and does stunts, haha.
AlsoIdontwannaseemcreepybutyouwatchcaddicarustoosoyoureamazing.
I'm not saying it should be third person, I'm saying the first person should be more realistic for gameplay and immersion purposes
Gotcha. I'm sure they'll do that for the next title.
I doubt it, considering all the footage that's been released
Loved the opening skit. It really took me back to the season 2 days.
Lol. That intro was great. =3
The Parkour in this looks so cool it makes you feel like your the one parkouring
Hey Jirard, Great Intro man, loved it. Tell whoever who made it good job! ;)
I have to say, it was a pretty awesome way to start this video, best so far.
Why is there no episode number?
Gravity Dog Because some UA-camrs hate convenience.
Gravity Dog Because he forgot and the youtube comment section is a cesspool of stupidibullshit.
It's probably just a mistake
+beastwolf1 I was just curious.
Gravity Dog AVGN forgot to put a number on his last episode. Is this a conspiracy?
Now that is, hands down, the best completionist intro ever
As cool as that opening sequence was, it's also highly unrealistic. As someone who worked at Gamestop, they don't leave the discs in the game cases for the very reason shown in the opening.
Still thrilling as hell, though.
Inhaled Corn I hope you understand it was not even supposed to be realistic...also, Game Stop is ass.
Love the mirrors edge intro skit. Very well done.
"I hired a girl to kick a dude in the nuts" you just earned a like
Best intro ever! I can't believe I haven't seen this one before! Well done!!
Holy shit that opening was amazing!
Also is it just me or does that announcer for the rating section and stuff sound like Jesse? =.=
Um, that's was an absolutely amazing intro... Felt just like the game. Kudos!
Now you know why Gamestop keeps their games locked in.
TalesOfGamerz Damn free runners stealing all their games.
My GameStop doesn't
+GamerKid35556 They are either stupid, have crazy good security or you live in a low crime area.
Awesome video Intro! Nice video Jirard
Ok that was a kick-ass intro
That must be one super cool store to go along with this.
That intro was pretty dang sweet. Also; great review, Jirard!
AWESOME opening!
I absolutely love Mirror's Edge. Wouldn't recommend the time trials, but the DLC is actually good fun, as long as you don't want to complete them.
lol jirard was playing boi rebirth! :D
This is actually my favourite game of all time
one hell of an opening :)
Ok, that's probably the coolest intro you've ever done. Congrats
at first i was impressed becuse i thought this was jirad doing all the parkour but then i seen a shadow of a girl then i was like "oh" (._.(
That intro was AWESOME! I loved it!
WHEN IS SPLATOON PART 2
Kyle Weintraub When the game is finished and actually has the content it should've had at launch. lmao.
+Fox? it is tho
+Fox? it did though now it's just partches and updates
Do it
Level 50, s+ rank. And the only way to keep leveling these up is on the modes with other people. it is gonna be a long road for jirard.
That opening sequence was perfect. 👍
Jirard, you should do an episode on "Sunset Overdrive". It's really underrated!
***** Yep and it's just as awesome as those games
Sunset Overdrive is a decent game and one of the only good games on Xbox One, so I'd say yes. Insomniac did great.
Fantastic opening and excellent review as always!!! I adore it!
So I've watched all the completions episodes but one question still beckons me since episode one: How the FLIP does he do the intro and gain his beard? Please explain that
Soji Adeleke He records the beard part first, then goes back and records again after shaving.
He shaved it and regret it and edited the clips together.
Soji Adeleke Editing magic. :P
Soji Adeleke The portion with beard is recorded and then he shaves and records the part without beard and changes their order.
GoldenTalesGeek Oh hey, nice seeing you here!
Ah, Mirrors Edge... I may hate speedruns and time trials, thus making over half of this game basically crap for me, but man do I LOVE the atmosphere. Wth why do you hate speedruns just let people play the way they want.
Nvm I thought you meant actual speedruns but you just were referring to the mode directly implemented into the game.
He should complete Phantom Hourglass. I want to see his reaction to the Temple of the Ocean King!
Oliver Misbach Ho Ho hoh! That's a great one. :3
MagicMaster667 Thanks!
Oliver Misbach why must we make him suffer so
Oliver Misbach get to work
Phantom Hourglass... if you didn't have to re-do the same temple 70 times, it would've been one of my top favourite handheld Zelda's.
The parkour scene is awesome!
I'm early, better make a joke.
My originality.
+AngryMonkeyArmy its supossed to be a joke you bloke
AngryMonkeyArmy
Welcome to meta-humor. It seems like you're new here.

It's a joke about a joke, so I'm pretty sure it is metahumor. Whether it's funny or not, doesn't really make a difference.
Arexion5293 Another joke!
- My sex life
- But -beard- catman! you're married!
- Exactly
I freaking LOVE Mirror's Edge! They really need to make more games like this!
Well geez I thought the intro was cool
Finally! I love this game. Can't wait for the sequel.
Didn't you say the red pill was the bad one at first? Also I even noticed one of the monsters from Dr. Mario on the bottem screen at 11:25
That intro was awesome!
i don't know why but the intro reminded me of slender man when that "give me 20 dolars" mode was hot....
+The Rape Face Don't rape me.
what on Earth is going on 0_o
+BoomNuggettime She's actually a couple hundred years old.
Nice job on this episode man. I've got a few game suggestions for future episodes: Infinity Blade 3, Pacman: Championship Edition, and Duke Nukem Megaton Edition. Looking forward to the next one.
The Office "PARKOUR"
I myself never finished Mirror's Edge on PS3. That intro was amazing as well.
4:45 so its basicly like the real world?
This game had the best preorder bonus in my opinion. They gave a full sized runner bag with the game and I still use it today. In fact it holds my Consoles and games when I travel
Shit, Was mirrors edge really 2008? Damn Im old
ThunderMudkip same. Its almost ten years old, and can you believe it's only one year older than tf2?
I 100% completed this game, and I love it. Thanks for the review
I got a joke
Anita sarskessian.
INTERNET OF THE YEAR 20XX
i dont see why she's so butthurt about Faith, she's a strikingly beautiful badass in the game
Ragna the Bloodedge She has to be butthurt, her agenda calls for it.
lol good one XD
+Ragna the Bloodedge (Mr. Breadmond) But being a whiny butthurt little bitch is her job!
I may be the biggest fan of this game ever. Owned it since launch and continue to be blown away. I miss the comedy.
Complete It!!! Jirard's attempts at lolsorandom humor is so cringe inducing
Best. Opening. Ever.

And why do we care?
Adroit Nobody said you had to.
chcoman123 Wow, quick response!
I have to disagree with that so I don't believe you explored all the routes you can fine while playing. I advise watching a few speedruns.
I also went into this game relatively blind and completed it a few months ago. I feel exactly the same.
