    Thanks for the great content, what is your recommended setup up for a 80 kilo beginner dock starter if riding in small calm lakes. Thanks

    Hey Daniele, I have a question for you, as I like very much the way you give your feedback. I already have a Sirius XL with a XL Sirius stab and a 85 cm HM mast for my light wind winging. Do you think it's ok for starting pump foiling? Have you ever tried with a longer mast? Do you think it's mandatory to buy a shorter mast? And what about the stab? Thank's for your answer.

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  7 місяців тому

      Hey!
      That's a killer setup for pumping!
      Your 85 mast will work great for pumping, especially since you already have experience with that. (I also learnt on the axis 82 mast). It's just going to be harder to learn the rockstart and the beachstart, but that's something to think about in the future.
      For what concern the stab, I feel like my L is already pretty generous, but I haven't tried the XL so I'm not sure whether it makes a huge difference or not. Start with that and then downsize to a 40 or 45 only if you really need more responsiveness in pitch. (hope I can get to try a 40 soon)
      Invest on a small board to make the most out of the 136!
      Have fun and ask if you have any questions!

      I have both the XXLH and the Sirus XL. It's a good combination, but I'm not going to lie to you... I'll probably keep the Sirus in the future and swap the XXLH for something faster (Veloce XXLH or smaller Curve H) just to have two very different wings

    Did u get also some Curve H Foils? i have the Xl but struggle to SUP Foil on it, maybe the 4 or 5Xl CurveH. Same weight and size as u.

      Hi! Here's my video talking about the Curve H XXL: ua-cam.com/video/4ISEKPVEq8w/v-deo.html
      I would rather go for a sirus (XL) for SUP rather than a big Curve H.

      Hey thanks! They sent me Sirus, Fluid H and Curve H in loan. Here are my thoughts on the Curve H XXL: ua-cam.com/video/4ISEKPVEq8w/v-deo.html . I really like it. More surfy feeling while still being rockstartable. Of course it's more energy demanding and it glides a bit less than the Sirus. Great foil to learn how to ride and connect waves.

      Hello 👋 I think your videos are really good. For record breaking lengths of pumping look into 'beta alanine' it's an amino acid - so just a protein supplement. You can buy it to take orally. It does something like blocking or reducing lactic acid buildup. Matt Fraser 5x World's fittest man in crossfit says it gave him a '3rd lung'. I agree! It might help? I use it sometimes and it really helps 🤙. Joe Rogan and Matt have a video talking about it

      @@gaeldaniele do you have any review or thoughts/comparison between Fluid an Sirus? I'm interested in 150cm span...

    I have classic Axis PNG1150 75 Alu 460 stab for a year, but I pump only some weekends, stueck at 1min pump
    What do you recommend as only pumpfoil next step (replace Axis png1150) for longer and less effort rides like 3min or more, keeping it easy to dock, rock and maybe beachstart, but also a bit funny?
    72 kg, F-One wingfoil rider (so already have carbon 85 and Alu 75 masts and would be cheaper and simpler to get Jam)
    - move to Jam 1600 ou 1900 or...
    - only change PNG1150 stab for 360 or...
    - move to Axis 1310 or ART PRO 1410 or...
    - move to Sirus XL

      Hi!
      I replied to the other comment but I reply here too since you gave more info.
      If you already have a carbon mast from f-one I'd suggest you go for the jam 1900.
      If you want to stay on axis red fuse I'd suggest you go for a 1300 with a skinny stab.
      If you want to switch brand I'd suggest you go for the Sirus XL + 77 mast + Sirus 40 stab. More than enough for your weight to break 5 minutes.
      Small board I very important too!

      @@joseluizfranklin 1300 is not the best choice in 2024, but it's probably the cheapest option for you if you want to stay on axis red

    I got under the impression that the XXL is kinda big for a 85kg rider that want to be able to pump 2 min and ride small swell in a lake. What do you think ?
    I'm missing the ratio between thicker foil with less HR and thinner foil with HR. XXL is given for a 2000 cm2.
    Currently, I'm learning on my Phantom 1480 F one. For now, I'm pumping 10-15 sec max :)

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  6 місяців тому +1

      I agree with you. If you want to pump for 2 min and ride swells in a lake as a beginner / intermediate you should go for the Sirus XL
      Good luck for your journey and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions!

    I am an absolute foil beginner (lots of SUP, twintip Kite and some skating) atm 100kg and planning to go down to 80kg. The goal is to learn foil pumping and SUP foil paddling and possible teach others as well that are a lot lighter. Do you think I should go with the 5xl or struggle a bit more with the 3xl and practice pumping, sup paddling. Atm I have a flat big lake and in the future would use it at the beach on holiday on the full flat days. I planned on pairing it with a big sup Gong 8,2XL really for maximum 0 effort learning and maybe later buying a smaller wing (2xl) + smaller pump board with the leftover setup (72cm mast and 63cm alvator). Do you have a different recommendation?

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  6 місяців тому

      I'd avoid the 5xl and the 3xl if you're planning to do SUP. I'd go for the 2xl + 72 mast + sirus 45 stab to learn and then downsize when you progress / become lighter / start surfing in the sea.
      Hope this helps!

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  8 місяців тому +1

      If you are just getting into these sport you mentioned, I'd say the Sirus XXL (especially for the flat water start). If you already have some experience riding foils, you could try with the XL

    I would also like to use a pumping foil for my winging? And maybe use it to ride behind boat. I am a Rather large American at 225lbs, old and slow. My lake is relatively small and wind conditions are usually lite 10-15 knotts. What are your suggestions?

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  8 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your question! In your specific case I'd probably go for the Curve H 3XL 125. Very easy to dockstart even for bigger riders, forgiving, stable, and I assume it's one of the best options to learn wing foiling as well. Maybe a bit slow for the boat, but great to start wave riding.

    Have you tried the HM 77 mast? I am a heavy surf foiler (95+) and don´t use foils bigger than XL. Currently divided between getting the 77 or the 79 mast, just worried about glide between the 2 masts wondering if I need a thick mast.. Have you noticed loss of glide on the 79 mast comparing to the 79? Excellent videos Thank You!!

    • @gaeldaniele
      @gaeldaniele  6 місяців тому

      Hi!
      As you can see from my other videos I'm riding the 77 and I would not choose the 79 unless you're riding the Sirus XXL 156 or above. Yes, the 77 is lighter and thinner so the feeling in the water is more pleasant.
