Thanks for the vid Daniele, I'm curious what you would recommend for me, I'm a competent foiler learning to dockstart but the only dock near by is not suitable for run starts. I found that I had the most success using the drop + jump method that's common for higher up docks than the static dock start. I also like how much farther away from the dock my foil and I are with the drop + jump method. You can see the dock here ua-cam.com/video/a5RP7FDTDfA/v-deo.html Also I have 1180 and 1401 front wings and skinny45, progressive 400 and 460v2 pump rears. What combo do you think is the easiest to learn dead starts with? In the video I was on 1180+skinny45 because that's what I was winging but I think the 1401+460v2 is probably my best bet.

Beginner 460V2, for me and my setup was 460V2 and skinny55 easy, skinny40 was difficult. However I don’t use huge front wings.

Tricky spot over there. Definitely the static start is the only option. 1401 + 460 should be the easiest set up. I'd suggest you don't land on the board with your belly or knees to not create bad muscle memory habits. Keep trying! You're into winging already so it's not gonna be hard for you once you're on the board.

@@gaeldaniele I find that starting with belly/knees is a good way to get a feel for the glide of the foil.
