Thanks dude. You saved my ass.
Unfortunately the one side was sticking amd shock would not come down so I had to lift high and pry down. Both axles came out. So it turned the 5 min job into about 6 hours for me. Lesson learned. The video helped me big time in putting on back. Thanks for posting your videos
    Sam

Derek Pope - Sorry to answer so late, but I believe all he did in vid after he removed the top nut and pulled strut out away from frame mount hole was remove the rubber bushing and thread on the spacer directly to the stud. He never removed the nut under the rubber bushing. Hope this helps.

Hey I bought the High Lifter 2" lift kit for my 2000 Polaris 500 Sportsman and it's very different than your style lift. It came with spacer pipes; 2 large and 2 small (1 ea per side). I used a HF spring compressor to compress my front spring. Removed nut on top of strut assembly that connects to frame. Removed nut that holds top cap on strut assembly. I pulled spring off and shock out. Then the High Lifter small spacer pipe goes inside pocket before shock is re-installed. The large spacer pipe goes on strut base below the spring. You fasten the nuts back in place to hold top cap on and mount strut assembly back in frame and it's done. A lot more work than the lift kit you show in video but it did raise my quad approx. 2".

+zero c - Glad to help bro. Another option is to buy or make your own spring compressor. The type that look like a folding "L" work fast and easy. The Hi-Lifter Spring Tool model is expensive $180 but my friend made one out of cheap tube steel, some bolts, and cutting a steel angle into a forked cradle design for the spring. You simply drop your spring shock into device, pull back the handle, and by leverage you compress it. Remove spring retainer clip, release tool handle, and spring can slide off. I slipped a long pipe over the home made one I used and I had my spring off and new one on in minutes! Sorry I can't upload an actual photo to explain better.

+zero c There u go. Whatever works dude. lol. Any DIY mod is cheaper than taking your quad to an ATV shop. Just be safe. Spring tension ain't no joke. U can bust a knuckle quick if it breaks free of whatever device your using to hold it in compression with. One time I used ratchet straps to compress a small atv spring but it took forever and the straps kept sliding around making it unstable. With some creativity and a trip to your local hardware store....anything is possible bro. Hehe.

Hi, so I have the same lift that you're talking about and it says I have to remove and compress the Springs like you did but I don't understand why I can't just install it like he did? And I'm getting kind of horrified by all the people saying they're blowing out axles so often in the rear I might be having second thoughts already but I would like it

the reason was so i didn't harm the axels by making too shayp of a bend on the noints. with the puck the suspension could only extend as far as the factory shocks.

Im confused... I have the same wheeler and when I was putting the front spacers in I only pulled off a plastic bushing, then a rubber washer in it then a metal washer, then finally the nut. So could you explain what goeson the spacer and then what goes on the top of the strut mount.

I removed the rear part of the lift. My brother popped an axle going over a large rock. Front has been no problem.

I ordered a similar lift but my front spacers will now thread into the stud at top of the shock. Even if it doesn’t thread on will it still work if tightened down from the top after installation?

I have a Polaris expedition. how do install the lift in the back!? the front looks easy but the rear look difficult. I can't find any videos on it the rear end is solid.

I removed the rear lift and just cranked up the shocks. My brother had thus lift and popped a rear axel out. Now I just use the hocky puck lift on the fronts. Do a google search on Soprtsman hocky puck lift.
