wow, this is the best video I have found regarding clutch work, belts, just the in's & out's...great job guys, it's folks like you that really contribute to owning & running these machines....thanks a bunch..
Yes you are correct it is a friction fit on the crankshaft you will need a puller to get the primary clutch off depending on the bike you may not need a puller to put the clutch kit in.
The kit will give you more bottom end Power and improve the throttle respone along with backshifting will be alot better as well. So when you are climing a hill it will down shift and keep the motor where it needs to be instead of bogging down.
Is this process similar for all CC's? I have a guy on my forum asking about upgrading the clutch on his 500. I have TON's of how to's and videos for the Brute Force, but none for a Polaris. I shared your video with them so... PS, if you are Chad, this is JD from MudInMyBlood haha... we've spoke on the phone a few times.
@jeryl1968 Kawasaki is a good all around machine, and is a more popular model ATV. It would be best to check with your local dealer for what model you're looking for and have them help you choose the best fitting machine for your style of riding. Be sure they are willing to work with you down the road, and when you're ready for a clutch kit or driveline parts, EPI and our tech support is ready to help!
Weights will effect your upshift and downshift of the clutches and top rpm. The simple answer is the heavier the weight the lower the rpms, the lighter weight higher rpms. The actual gram weight of the clutch weight, profile of the weight, and where the actual weight is distributed on the weight all have effects on the weights also.
@rbandy46 Yes the PCP-1 will work on your machine and is used the same way. The PCP-1 will work on all Polaris ATVs except the 550/850 XP, RZR 800, RZR S and the RZR 900XP. All Polaris clutches come off the same way some just use a different a clutch puller. Thanks for your questions, if you have any more please feel freee to call us 218-829-6036.
@van050494 Our best kit right now for that model is our Sport Utility kit, part number is WE391023. If you're looking for a Mudder kit, we may be able to modify an existing kit for you - call our tech support at 218-829-6036 and ask for Chad. Make sure to mention you posted this question on UA-cam!
This presenter/mechanic deserves accolades for being knowledgeable, informative and polite. Thanks very much for a top quality video.

I like those rims. Would the wheel hubs fit on the axles of a 2001 Scrambler 400 so that I can mount those rims?

Couldn't you if you didn't have access to a puller install the drive clutch kit on the machine..? Is it absolutely necessary to remove it..?

I have a 2011 sportsman 500 and was just wondering what the cluth kit would do either give me more top end power or low end?
I ordered a sport utility kit from y'all and it has 47 gram weights what do different weights do like heavier weights do what or lower weights

If you go to our website we have a selection of pullers for snowmobiles and ATV/UTV's. They range from $40 to $60.
@viggoM35 If you contact ITP they would be better able to help you. Their main focus is rims and tires.
