I don't know about anyone else... I drive through Iowa a lot along the 80 and as a trucker state drive me nuts... One minute you're going about 80 and the next minute you're going about 55.. I feel like I'm back in the Appalachians at times... That's my only drive about Iowa the rest of it... Some explanatory I guess... And I guess a lot of people would think State is all flat... One hell of a mission
Desmoines has been voted best city to live and raise a family like 8 of the last 10 yrs. But please keep telling everyone not to come to Iowa if you would please Thank you.
It is a great city! Most people want to know the downside to Iowa. Last thing I want to do is have people only seeing the good and then they move here and hate it because they never knew xy and z. Thanks for your input and we love it here in Iowa as well.
Dubuque is awful. Jobs are low paying. Town is extremely poorly run. Mfg is leaving. Dbq also looks like it was designed by a drunken 2yr old monkey. Hey maybe we’ll get another dollar general
I am surprised about the population decline and your comments. I had gone to college there in the early 80's and spent some time there a few years ago. It seemed as if some good things were happening, the riverfront, infrastructure, and transportation. Someone had once told me that the city was designed around the seven(?) major hills.

Really? Reynolds has signed legislation that has no state tax for retired peoples income, allows people fed up with CRT and other social issues as opposed to teaching. You can use over 70% of money you pay to crappy public schools to put your child in a school of your choice. She did not push National covid rules on citizens even though the National media slammed her for it. Our money reserves are as high as I ever remember it. She was recently rated as the #1 most fiscally responsible gov in the country. I don't know her but if I meet her, I'm telling her she is the best Gov Iowa has had in the 65 years I've lived here.

before you move here check out the laws on feed lots. Very little protection from the smell even if you live in our small towns
The small town I grew up in north of Ames would either smell like hog or turkey manure depending on how the wind blew

People are leaving Iowa due to a distaste for the way the government is run also.
