I think my comment on the Magnetic video may have been read as negative. It's a top one stating "NicklebackCore". But that was genuinely because he sounded like Chad Kroeger in the chorus lol.
Love this band but I do miss their old sound. But people grow and people change. So props to them to keep pushing music.

I've always thought of metalcore as the two words that make it up, metal at its core. It's why I really enjoyed the shift in BMTH's sound when they brought Jordan on and why I love pretty much anything these bands put out.
With Wage War, specifically, and I haven't listened the other new single yet, my big complaint was that they seemed to lose their creativity and went a little too "radio friendly" in terms of predictability. I don't mind a band releasing music to get plays on the radio or break into other Spotify spheres. In fact, I think it takes a lot of guts and talent to do that well. What I didn't like was the fact that every song on Manic finished their chorus with the title of the song as a callout from Cody or Briton. Every single one of them. It happened a fair amount on Pressure, but it was almost sinful on Manic.
NAIL5 is fun because it's sludgy. It's just a dirty song to groove to. Definitely going to listen to it a few times through and check out magnetic. I just want them to go the Architects route of not giving a single shit what people think and releasing the music they really want to release. If that means we get another banger from Cody's side project with Matty Mullins (please, I need another bop like South on 65), then go for it. Just don't get predictable and boring. Good news is, I don't think they'll ever be boring live.
Yeah about Magnetic. There's fans of Metalcore and then there's the edgy heavy only snobs that will hate on anything slightly more clean because everything has to be screamed for it to be good. People can like what they like ofc but its cringe when people cant appreciate any other good music.

this was so boring. Manic 2.0. not original, normally i’d never say this to Wage War, but they gotta figure out how to be more creative, i didn’t even head bang lol

I listen to this while knowing that there STILL IS cat fart called “magnetic”. I mean “Nail5” is still 4 out of 10. But at least it is not negative to 0.
So sad that this group is only degenerating while they have improved Corey Taylor’s vocals, and their last album. So sad I opened this group for me about 2 years ago and now I hate their new product cause it is just boring and painful to ears sh*t
