@@lvcsslacker As a masseuse we avoid the spine, and here I'm talking about the bones them selves, the spinous process to be exact (that's the bumps up your back) We do this cause sliding over them can be very uncomfortable. If the hind glides over the spine, there is nothing to worry about since the force into them isn't extreme. With these cylinders I wouldn't worry to much, due to the fact that they do have a large surface area across the whole back. I would never actively roll something only on the spine, but across the back horizontally shouldn't be a problem. You could see people who have never done any weightlifting in their life, have little muscle on the back and therefor the spinous process (the bumps) be very easy to see, and they might point out more, than someone who has weightlifted and has a lot of size and thickness to their back. But a good rule of thumb is that if something hurts or is uncomfortable don't do it. But I wouldn't be worried about this.

Thank you for taking the time to throw in the graphics as you walked through the tempering process. My friends and i are learning / trying as we go! Side note, that gym is absurd in all the right ways. I can't imagine the training that has gone down in there.

I'm noticing something with how Sam is operating the camera. She likes to stick with headshots instead of getting the whole scene in frame. It made this video feel more educational instead of a video where Juji hangs out with someone. Nice work!

Thank you. Yes, we film close on purpose because the audio is much better and we want to give the viewer the sense of "being there." Lav mics just don't cut it for us, it has a weird feel in videos like these, and full frame shots alienate the viewer. The drawback is, when close,, it can be shakey, slow, or miss some body action, but there is no way of filming that doesn't have both pros and cons. 🙃

@@jujimufu do you guys have an external mic at all? Or just the in camera mic? A external mic would have been incredible for something like your powerlifting meet where we could barely hear anything. But in quite videos like this, this is perfect nd I do really enjoy her film style

Hey, your like the first person I've heard say that they are in this field. Oh I'm 20 btw, so my ligaments are starting to shorten but my faulty collagen keeps my joints over mobile.
I have ehlers danlos syndrome (probably heds) and have hypermobile joints which can sublux (less after I've basically started pting my self from online info but its not made for stronger people.). I'm not that strong but definitely an intermediate lifter (6 years of lifting, 4 seriously). Was always working to try fix my issues way before I knew what I was and have always been super careful with form.
Shoulders subluxing I've pretty much stopped the constant day to day issues with purely face pulls, pull-ups, dips, shoulder training and rotator cuff work. I still sublux randomly in shoulders but not often.
The one that stumps me is my hips, my knees and my ribs. My hips painfully sublux about once to twice a week from general movement, my knees hyper extend causing sharp extreme pain when I don't think about each step and when I lay on my side my ribs slip very uncomfortably.
I haven't been able to gym due to lockdown and gyms open tomorrow and I'm looking forward to trying to get back to training full body but with the inactivity (minus shoulders) has made every other joint much less stable.
I have resistance bands, pull up bar, dip station, foam rollers, massage balls and a matt for floor work. Any tips?

@@lovableluke4472 Obviously not formal medical advice, but would consider some core and hip girdle work. Look into McGill's Big 3 for core stability. Maybe consider adding clamshells and deadbugs as well. None require fancy equipment, and if done properly/consistently (plenty of videos out there), should help quite a bit in the long run. Good luck!

I loved this video!! As a massage therapist I saw a lot of good info here, it's like Rolfing or Foam Rolling but with weights. He's right sometimes using a lower weight will allow the muscles to sink in and relax. Since Juji and other "bodybuilders" or "weightlifters" have more dense muscle fibers they need more pressure to get the same results. With as much as some of those rollers weigh its almost a workout for the person using them on you. No doubt Juji is going to be sore afterwards but the benefits should be almost immediate. Thanks for putting this video out there and showing how important recovery and stretching is. You should also look into Trigger Point Therapy.
