Yes your original stuff is heavier, but I read the call out and you have plenty of cover videos and alt versions to show that you can play the catalog. But what can they anticipate you can contribute? Can you match their musical personalities which fuse virtuoso proficiency with Intelligent creativity and originality? Can you integrate humorous content (how are you gonna punctuate the verse! Not the beat) that is exemplify the band’s tongue in cheek instrumental humor? Lastly, (yeah the references may be argumentative but…) who are you and are you gonna be a “Newstead” or a “Trujillo”? Lastly, Primus has a lot to say still, they take an important role in the genre, to show that you also have intelligence and a similar set of social as well as personal values is crucial. Not only to play the existing catalog with the required feel but also to create along those lines. I think you put out a strong argument that you have all of the above, hopefully Les and Larry will also peruse your channel as the proof is there! Good luck Josh! He may be a great drummer, but he only played in the style of Primus but did not actually play any Primus. Other auditions where they actually played Primus were a better fit for the band.
